Shangguan Mo paid them no mind. He put his basic taijutsu to full use. With every swing of his kunai, a head would roll, and blood would spray. The sound of wind whistled behind him from time to time, but he used his hearing to locate and dodge the attacks. His hard training at the academy was finally paying off.
A few minutes later, with the help of the other students, all the Jashinist followers had been dealt with. Covered in blood, Shangguan Mo turned his gaze to the other battlefield, a hundred meters away. That was the battle that would decide their fate.
"All of you, stay back! Don't get near that fight! A battle between Chunin is not something you can interfere with!" Seeing the eager looks in the eyes of Murakami Rin and the other students, who had gotten a taste for battle, Shangguan Mo quickly shouted.
The ground beneath his feet then split open, and a monstrous, earthworm-like creature appeared before them, startling the students. Shangguan Mo quickly lay down on the Earth Dragon Beast's back and held on tight. The next moment, with a powerful flick of its tail, the beast dove back into the ground, disappearing from sight.
Murakami Rin and the others looked at each other, too shocked to speak. "Where is the captain going...?" a female student asked in a daze.
"He's probably... going to help Rino-sensei deal with that Jashinist Chunin..." another student answered uncertainly.
Hearing this, the students' faces were filled with a mix of emotions. They had used all their strength just to deal with the ordinary followers, but their class monitor, Shangguan Mo, was already taking on a Chunin... Only Li and Murakami Rin looked at the deep hole in the ground and clenched their fists, feeling a deep sense of helplessness, hating that they were of no use at all.
Meanwhile, on the other battlefield.
Inoshita Rino was being forced back continuously. Against this Jashinist Chunin, he could barely protect himself.

A shuriken flew through the air, growing larger and larger in his vision. His face was already pale, but he gritted his teeth, pushed off with his feet, and leaped into the air, dodging the shuriken. He landed firmly on a nearby tree trunk and, using the rebound force, shot forward, not retreating but charging at the Jashinist. He knew he couldn't fall back. "You're courting death!" the black-robed, masked Jashinist roared. He swung his large scythe in a circle and then brought it down fiercely on Inoshita Rino.

The scythe struck his kunai. The immense force sent him flying, his hand going numb as his kunai fell to the ground.
Thump!
His back slammed into the ground, and he coughed up a mouthful of blood. He clutched his chest, his vision blurring as he looked towards his students, a bitter expression on his pale face. The next moment, a black shadow blocked his view. The Jashinist was standing over him.
His feet landed on the ground with a thud. Inoshita Rino's head drooped, his vision blurry. All he could see was the black robe fluttering in the air. "Am I going to die...?" he murmured, his voice barely audible.
"You guessed right, old man!" the Jashinist sneered. He raised his scythe high and then brought it down on his head. The next moment, his head would be split open.
But just then, the ground beneath the Jashinist's feet suddenly burst open. A bucket-wide hole appeared, and dirt flew everywhere, making him instinctively narrow his eyes. His legs were suddenly gripped tightly, and he immediately realized what was happening. "It's you, you annoying little brat!" he roared. He tensed his waist and spread his legs with all his might, preventing himself from being completely swallowed. He then raised his scythe and brought it down on the Earth Dragon Beast.
Clang!
The blow landed on the beast's body with the sound of metal on metal. A foot-long gash appeared on its gray-brown body, and gray-white, rock-like debris fell from the wound, quickly stained red by its blood.
Injured, the Earth Dragon Beast's suction power weakened instantly. The Jashinist's eyes lit up. He used his waist to power his legs and spun, leaping several meters into the air. A crazed look appeared in his eyes as he roared, "Kid, I almost fell for your trick! You've really pissed me off! Die!!!"
With that, he brought his two-handed scythe down on Shangguan Mo below him. Aided by the force of gravity, his attack was incredibly fast, completely impossible for Shangguan Mo to dodge.
But did he need to dodge? The answer was—no!
Shangguan Mo's lips were pressed tightly together, his eyes wide as he stared at the rapidly approaching blade, seemingly unfazed by its cold glint. His face looked calm, but he was screaming internally, "One more time! Little Spike, you can do it!"
Swish, swish, swish, swish, swish, swish!
The next moment, a dozen or so silver-glinting iron spines shot out from behind the Jashinist and pierced through him. Caught off guard by Shangguan Mo's surprise attack and continuous ambushes, the Jashinist Chunin didn't even have a chance to use a single ninjutsu before he died.
"I just wanted to develop in peace. You guys are the ones who came looking for death! So don't blame me..." At this point, Shangguan Mo's heart finally relaxed, and he muttered to himself.

The Jashinist Chunin collapsed to the ground. "Hah... hah... hah..." Only then did Shangguan Mo begin to gasp for breath, looking as if he had just had a near-death experience. He glanced at the Iron Hedgehog, which was also lying limply nearby, its body completely bare of spines. He felt a mix of excitement and relief. "This time, it was really a close call!"
Against a Chunin's attack, Shangguan Mo couldn't even dodge. He had to rely completely on his summoning beasts for sneak attacks, every step fraught with danger. He had used the moment the Jashinist was about to kill his instructor, when his guard was at its lowest, to have the Earth Dragon Beast burst from the ground and restrain him. That was the most critical step. After the Iron Hedgehog's Myriad Arrow Volley had failed last time, he knew that if he couldn't immobilize the Chunin, its attack would be useless.
"This time, it's really thanks to the Iron Hedgehog. It shot all its spines three times and is now completely exhausted! This ninja world is too dangerous. When I was watching the original story, I thought Chunin were just cannon fodder, but against me, it's like an adult beating a child..." Shangguan Mo muttered, a hint of fear in his eyes.
