Culgan pulled a chair from the corner and dropped into it facing the small table they'd added for work.
Li Shen's eyes drifted to the fluffy tail that swung lightly behind him, but before he could think too much—
"You don't look like 'nothing' to me. Stop pretending to be tough, kid. So? What's the matter?"
This man he was honestly such a better person than he first looked! Li Shen had wanted, more than anything, not to be questioned right now.
"…well, um… I guess… homesickness."
He gave that honest answer, but Culgan replied with a single, "And?" Li Shen sniffled and tried to think what else to say. Culgan let out a sigh and said—
"You're only tied to us for as long as you're here, right? If you've got things bottled up, spit them out. It's easier to talk to someone else sometimes. I don't know if I can help, but I can listen to a rant."
