The Null Void teemed with escaped convicts. Ben, Gwen, and Kevin arrived to restore order. Villains ranged from petty thieves to intergalactic warlords.
"This is going to be a long day…" muttered Kevin, bracing for a fight. Ben nodded, activating the Ultimatrix. He had to go with a form that could handle the chaos. He needed crowd control, power, and versatility. Ben then transforms into Swampfire. "Let's do this." Swampfire unleashes flames. Swampfire shoots vines to restrain villains. Many prisoners are captured. However, the most dangerous villains still roam free.
Among them was one that Ben did not expect. A familiar face of one of his original aliens. But how? Ben thought to himself, "This can't be happening. This should not be possible. There is something wrong!" Before Ben could think, the figure confronts Swampfire. It is a corrupted version of Heatblast. Before Ben can react, Heatblast throws a massive fireball at Swampfire. Swampfire barely dodges the attack. "I don't want to fight you Heatblast, so please let me capture you without a fight" says Swampfire. Heatblast replies, "I am not Heatblast! I am the new ruler of this world! You will join me, or you will be destroyed!" Heatblast attacks Swampfire again. But before the attack lands, Gwen summons a mana shield to protect Swampfire. Heatblast gets annoyed and starts attacking Gwen. "I will deal with you first" says Heatblast. Swampfire rushes to protect Gwen. But Heatblast is too strong, and too fast. He is able to knock Swampfire to the ground.
Swampfire knew he needed more power, but he had to think of a solution, fast. He realized that he might be able to win with his Ultimate form. If he could figure out how to unlock it, he could win this fight for sure. Swampfire decides to take the risk, he slams down on the Ultimatrix again. Swampfire starts to transform, but as he does, a massive surge of energy flows through him. The Ultimatrix is trying to force him to transform into Ultimate Swampfire, but it is unstable. Heatblast unleashes a massive flame attack at Swampfire while he is transforming. Swampfire feels pain. However, Swampfire pushes through the pain and is able to complete the transformation. As soon as the transformation is complete, the arena fills with bright light. Ultimate Swampfire is bigger, stronger, and more powerful. A tree-like giant with magma cores, launches explosive fire-seeds. Ultimate Swampfire stands ready. "You will not hurt my friends Heatblast. I will stop you now!" With that said, Ultimate Swampfire starts to attack Heatblast. Heatblast is unable to withstand the power of Ultimate Swampfire. The battle is intense, and the two trade blows. However, Ultimate Swampfire is able to defeat Heatblast, by throwing fire seeds at him.
Heatblast reverted to human form as his body was unable to withstand the attack. As the heroes go to capture the body, Albedo appeared and rescued Heatblast. He teleports them to safety. "They are getting stronger! We need to be stronger!" said Albedo. Paradox simply replies, "Patience. We will be stronger." Just then, a figure appears. It is Eon. Paradox looks at Eon with surprise. "Eon! What are you doing here! I thought you were dead!" Eon simply smirks and says "I am never truly gone. Time is always on my side." Eon then explains his master plan to Paradox. Eon says that he can help Paradox, if Paradox helps him. Eon tells Paradox that he needs the time machine to change the timeline. He wants to be the ruler of the universe. Paradox thinks to himself, and decides to accept the deal. The villains leave to prepare for their plan. What is their plan? Is the universe in danger? The villains teleport away, leaving the heroes shocked. The heroes do not know what to do. As the heroes ponder what to do, Ben hears a voice in his head. "Ben Tennyson. I need your help." Ben then tells the heroes, "We need to go now!"
"Where are we even going?!" exclaimed Kevin. Ben simply replies, "I don't know, but we need to trust this voice!" The heroes then start to travel to the location that Ben heard the voice from. As the heroes travel, they get ambushed by Albedo. Albedo summons corrupted aliens, and attacks the heroes. The heroes start fighting the aliens. Ben is frustrated. "We don't have time for this Albedo! I will deal with you later!" Albedo smirks and says, "You will not be able to stop me Tennyson! I have become stronger than ever before! You will not be able to defeat me!" Albedo then transforms into Ultimate Ben! Ben looks in shock! Albedo says, "Now, let's fight!" Ben then transforms. "It's hero time!" As Ben goes through his transformations, he stops on one alien. Ultimate Upgrade. As Ultimate Upgrade, Ben prepares to fight Albedo.
As Ben powers up, Kevin and Gwen know that this fight is not going to be pretty. The two rush at Albedo and start throwing punches, however, Albedo simply deflects all of the attacks and kicks the two back. Ben says "Leave him to me. I am the only one who can stop him." Kevin and Gwen agree, but they stay close to provide support. As Ben and Albedo prepare to clash, Ben thinks to himself. "I have to find a way to beat him without destroying him. Albedo might be evil, but he is still human. I cannot kill him!" But can Ben really hold back? Albedo is ready to kill him, will Ben let him win? Or will he do what it takes to save his friends? The stage is set, and the battle is about to begin! As the two start to battle, something unexpected happens. Ultimate Ben starts to glitch, he cannot handle all of the energy. Albedo starts screaming in agony! Ben takes advantage of this moment, and rushes at Albedo. He stabs him! But with what? Ben looks at his hands in shock, he created a sword out of crystal! Ben did not know he could do that! Just as Ben defeats Albedo, Albedo explodes into a cloud of smoke, and is gone. It was a clone. "He is getting stronger. We cannot let him win." says Ben. With that, the heroes rush off to continue their journey. But where will they go? And what will they face? The end is only the beginning. And the story has just begun. As they continue to travel, the mysterious voice calls out to Ben once more. But this time, the voice is closer. "Come this way, I am nearby." It was at that moment, the voice started to fade. Did they have to turn back? Or are they on the right path? What's next to come will change everything Ben has ever known.
The trio approach their final destination, unsure what may await them at the end of their travels. As they get closer, they see the figure in the shadows. The figure reveals himself, it's Max! "Ben, I've been waiting for you." Ben rushes to Max, and is overjoyed. "Grandpa Max, it's so good to see you!" Max replies "We don't have much time. Paradox is about to use the time machine, we have to stop him!" Ben is in shock. Max is alive. But how? And what will the group do? As the heroes journey into the time machine, what will they see? Only time can tell.
