Arianne shot Nicky a glare. "What's wrong with you? You're spouting nonsense!"
Nicky only laughed, though anger simmered beneath her smile. "Fine. Let's just wait and see."
Amari simply held Nicky's hand, unwilling to waste her time on the two women. Instead, her eyes wandered back to the jade bracelet in her hand, the faintest spark of interest flickering in her gaze.
Louissa's eyes narrowed slightly. She knew Grandma Clavel had always favored Amari, and the two often spoke in private. If Amari truly wanted that bracelet, there was no doubt the old lady would also approve.
A faint smile tugged at Louissa's lips. "Amari, you—"
But before she could finish, Amari had already handed the bracelet to the saleswoman. "Wrap this jade bracelet for me."
The shopping guide perked up immediately. She might have looked down on Amari earlier, but the hefty commission from such an expensive item was enough to brighten her smile. She quickly packed it up.
