Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Garden of Stars

Chapter 1: The Garden of Stars

The stars were singing.

Elara stood at the edge of the glowing garden, her breath caught between awe and disbelief. Moonlight bathed the landscape in soft silver, and the air shimmered with soft pulses of light that floated like fireflies. The flowers—thousands of them—glowed with a radiant blue hue, blooming under a sky that held not one, but two moons.

She had never seen anything like this before. The garden pulsed with life, but not the kind she was used to. This place didn't just live—it remembered.

A soft breeze stirred her hair, carrying the scent of jasmine and something older, something sacred. The ground beneath her feet seemed to hum with energy, like it recognized her.

Elara stepped forward cautiously, the hem of her ivory gown brushing against petals that shimmered brighter as she passed. Her heart raced, not in fear, but in recognition. She didn't know why this place felt familiar. She had never been here before… and yet, she had.

A voice echoed in her mind—faint, like a whisper.

> "You'll find him where the moon kisses the flowers."

She spun around, but there was no one there. Only silence, soft wind, and the sound of the stars above.

"Elara."

Her name. Spoken like a prayer. She turned quickly—and then she saw him.

He stood in the center of the garden, waiting. The moonlight embraced him like an old friend. Tall, with raven-black hair and eyes that seemed to hold the entire night sky within them, he looked at her as if she was the answer to every question he had ever asked.

"Caelum…" she whispered, even though she had no idea how she knew his name.

He smiled, the kind of smile that a soul carries across lifetimes. "You remember."

Elara's heart stuttered in her chest. "I don't. I… I don't know you."

"Yes," Caelum said gently, stepping closer. "But your heart does."

The world fell quiet around them, the stars pausing their song for a single breath.

She should have run. Should have questioned everything. But her feet moved on their own. And when she was close enough to feel the warmth of his presence, her hand reached for his.

The moment their skin touched, the garden exploded with light.

Memories—not hers, but somehow deep inside her—flashed like lightning behind her eyes. A burning city. A promise whispered beneath cherry blossoms. A sword covered in blood. A kiss under falling stars.

She gasped and stumbled back.

"Elara, I'm sorry," Caelum said quickly. "I didn't mean to—"

"What was that?" she asked, breathless. "What… what did I see?"

"Our past," Caelum said quietly. "One of many."

She stared at him, eyes wide. "You're mad."

"Maybe," he said, a soft smile playing at the corners of his lips. "But not about you. Never about you."

🌙 Far Beyond the Garden

In a hidden chamber deep in the mountains, a woman in white placed her hand over a mirror made of moonstone. The image of Elara and Caelum shimmered on its surface.

"She's found him," the Moon Priestess Seraphina said, her voice calm but unreadable.

Behind her, a young knight named Rowan tensed. His hand tightened around the hilt of his sword. "Then it's already begun."

"Do not let your feelings cloud your judgment," Seraphina said, glancing at him. "You care for her, but that love must not interfere. The fate of both realms depends on what happens next."

Rowan nodded, but his jaw clenched. "She deserves to know the truth."

Seraphina turned back to the mirror. "She will. In time."

🌌 Back in the Garden

Elara sat on a glowing stone bench, staring up at the twin moons. Caelum sat beside her, not touching, but close enough that she felt his presence like a pulse.

"You're saying we've lived before?" she asked. "Together?"

"Yes," he said. "Over and over. And every time we find each other, something tears us apart."

"Why?"

He hesitated. "Because we're cursed."

Elara blinked. "Cursed?"

Caelum looked at her then, his eyes full of centuries of sorrow. "Long ago, we made a vow under a forbidden moon. We promised our love would defy time, fate, and even death. But the gods were not pleased. One of them—Lunaria, the Moon Goddess—placed a curse on us. In every life, we find each other… and in every life, we are torn apart before we can stay together."

"That's not fair," Elara said, her voice breaking.

"No. But this time might be different," Caelum said, turning to her. "This garden is a sign. It only appears when there's hope."

"What do we have to do?"

He reached into his cloak and pulled out a shard of glass that shimmered like starlight. "We have to find the rest of this. It's the key to entering the Celestial Library. Inside is the only spell that can break the curse."

"And you think we can find it?"

"I know we can," Caelum said, his voice steady. "But we'll need help. And we'll be hunted."

"Hunted by who?"

Caelum's expression darkened. "By those who want the curse to remain—especially Thorne."

🖤 In the Realm of Shadows

Thorne sat on a throne made of bone and silver, watching a mirror similar to Seraphina's. He saw Caelum and Elara's hands touch, saw the garden burst into light.

His eyes narrowed.

"So she's awakened," he murmured. "It seems fate is impatient this time."

A shadowy figure stepped out from the darkness beside him. "Shall we stop them?"

Thorne smiled—cold, bitter. "No. Let them hope. Let them believe they can win. And then… let them fall."

🌸 Back to Elara

Elara stood as the wind picked up again, stirring the petals around her feet.

"What now?" she asked.

"We begin," Caelum said.

The stars above flickered—brighter than before. The moons glowed with strange intensity. Somewhere far off, a flower bloomed in silence… and fate turned a page.

The story had begun once more.
