Right in front of him, something was forming—a swirling, silver-blue portal glowing in midair. It shimmered like liquid light, humming softly.
"This… this is new," he said quietly, stepping closer. "A portal? In my room?"
He raised both hands cautiously, feeling the cold air around it. The light flickered across his fingers.
"Well," he murmured, "guess I'm walking into another dungeon."
He exhaled and stepped through.
The moment he crossed, the air shifted. His feet landed on stone. The scent of dust and moss filled his nose.
He found himself standing in a vast, ancient place. The sky above was gray, and ahead stood a huge castle—its walls cracked and weathered, its towers stretching into the mist.
A faint ding echoed in his head.
