Chapter 12: Resuming the Journey
Chapter Text
I do not own anything.
'thought'
"Speech"
"Text via book or newspaper... when those are around..."
System Text
My eyes slowly crack open as a tired haze slowly leaves my body.
At my sides are the two women I had been trapped underground with, we had lain atop our clothes, using a bags as pillows.
Yesterday was... tiring.
The bullshit hoop puzzle. The waltz. Then the fuckening.
Linkle was insatiable. Ravenous. Even after I had finished with Purah, she suddenly demanded more. This place being one of the only locations we could ever be this relaxed.
I reach over, grasping her gently, then cast an anti-scrying spell on her.
I'm unsure of the time, but it's likely that nearly a day has passed since we arrived here.
I slowly get up, quietly slipping out of the grasp of both the bare forms of Purah and Linkle, the two girls not liking the sudden chill and eventually finding warmth in each other.
Aw... it's a little cute watching them cuddle like that.
Linkle is totally going to be embarrassed, though. Ooooh that'll be funny.
Or y'know, she won't be embarrassed at all... after all, she isn't the blushing virgin she was yesterday.
I raise my arms, letting out a quiet groan as my joints pop and click, not having liked sleeping on the stone floor like that.
I rub my eyes, quickly waking myself up as I believe it would be a good moment to check my numerous notifications.
First and foremost. The achievement.
Ritualistic Sex:
You have lost your virginity within the Temple of Unity's main room!
Reward: Constitution stat improved by 1.
Huh... wouldn't that technically also apply to Linkle? I'll ask her later if she feels any different.
Then, I've completed a quest.
Till Death Do You Part:
You have been told of a mask hidden away on a nearby mountaintop. Let's hope that it is still there. It'd really help your rapidly growing case of kleptomania.
Objectives:
Travel to Ebon Mountain: [x]
Find the Sun and Moon masks: [x]
Travel to the Lovers Pond: [x]
Complete the Temple of Unity: [x]
Reward:
Couple's Mask (S), 5000 Exp, Magic Item worth up to 4000 Gp
Five thousand experience- heeeeyoooo that's a level up!
Add that level four stat point to charisma to bring that up to a nice even twenty two... spend that four thousand on an item to increase my charisma by a further plus two...
I nod once as a small bracelet appears. I slip it on with a single nod, watching as it seems to tighten, causing it to fit snuggly. Enough so that I won't have to worry about it sliding off if I swing my arm around.
'lets see here... I unlock call lightning this level, plus I learn an extra third level spell! let's pick up Cure Serious Wounds.'
It looks like these mask side quests here don't offer a lot of rewards aside from the mask itself... and speaking of said mask.
I slowly draw my blade, gazing into the polished silvery metal-
I am blinded by a glaring light as the blade in my hand shifts and morphs.
"Ah... it appears that I am steadily returning to my true power. Slowly but surely." The sword mutters into my mind.
Instead of her earlier appearance, Vivi here is starting to look more and more like the master sword...
Spoiler
A long white blade, a black handle that has little wing-like protrusions that act as a hand guard, a little golden diamond just below the blade.
Sovereign Blade (Goddess Blade):
Hardness: 30
Health: 150
Weight: 4.5 Lbs
Damage: 2d8+5+Str (+2d6, +2d6)
Crit Range: 18-20 (x2)
Blade of Evil's Bane: Deals 2d6 additional damage to evil aligned individuals and a further 2d6 to creatures infused with the very essence of evil. In addition, this sword now shines brightly in the presence of truly vile creatures or magics.
Huh... this is quite impressive.
The corners of my mouth turn upwards as I nod once in appreciation of the sword's new form.
Regardless, this wasn't really what I intended to check.
I stare into the silvery metal that has a mirror-like shine.
Staring back is two red eyes, the left one with six little golden-orange triangles surrounding it. Three above the eyebrow, three below the eye.
A little mark that appeared on my face as I was in the process of doing some super-hot creampie sex with Linkle.
She gained one as well. Though her's looks like a little crescent moon under her eye. Like whitish-silvery eyeshadow on one eye.
Linkle was right about mine, though. It does look pretty good. It goes quite well with my red eyes.
'what do we have here?'
Couple's Mask (Sun):
This might not be a mask in a typical sense, but this mark is a promise between two souls. A promise of companionship that is not so easily broken.
This pair of masks grants the couple in question a few unique abilities.
Firstly, any spells or other beneficial effects that are cast on one of the pairs, is transferred to the other at no cost, thus, if a healing spell were cast on you, it would also target the person bound to the Couple's Mask (Moon) for no additional cost. Be it spell slot, or some form of once per day ability that greatly improves the spell's effect. This special ability is not limited to spells that could target others, like Cure Light Wounds, Haste or Mage Armor, but also spells that have a range of 'personal' or can only be cast on yourself, such as Shield, Glibness, or Bladed Dash.
Secondly, you will find that you and the person who has the opposing Couple's Mask will become more in-tune with you. If they are good at dancing, you will gain a near prodigious learning curve as you rise to match them, and they to match your talents. In addition, any sort of Teamwork Feat you have selected is automatically given to your Couple's Mask companion
Thirdly, while in the proximity of the Temple of Unity, you are gained numerous boons.
The fourth and final trait of these marks is that when they perform a swift 'Union Ritual' their physical stats (Strength, Dexterity, Constitution) are granted a morale bonus of +2 for an hour.
Sooooo, a boost in physical capabilities if I quickly go over and rail Linkle... huh. Alright. I'm mainly here for the first perk. That'll be useful as FUCK for when I need to save my spell slots. A lot of times we just get fucked up by even the most mundane shit, so being able to heal both of us at once is definitely useful.
This mask is basically a permanent buff to not only myself, but to Linkle as well. This was a worthy detour... I wonder if the other masks will be the same.
I quickly pull out my clothes and put them on, then let out a quiet yawn as I look around the room.
'I wonder if this place has any loot...'
I look over to Purah and Linkle who stand around as I complete the strumming on the Shamisen.
The mist flowing from its strings surround us, showing a dense forest. Nothing seems out of the ordinary, there's a large slightly spherical rock in the distance that has two holes carved in it that look like eyes, but beyond that, anything else below that level is hidden by the surrounding trees.
Just behind us, is the interesting thing... a metal arch. Looking like the top of the 'Gateway Arch' in Missouri if almost all of it was buried underground.
Vines and moss cling to its exterior, I can see the telltale sign of the rocky-swirled designs of the ancient Sheikah. Even if the lines have not gained their typical orange or blue glow.
"There really was another divine beast." Purah whispers, eyes wide.
"It looks like our assumption of where it is... is correct, as if we didn't have enough information to figure it out, we would have been shown somewhere else to get information." I observe. "Luckily-"
""It appears (looks) inactive.""
I look to Linkle as we both say pretty much the same thing.
The corners of her mouth turn upwards at my gaze.
"But it isn't." Purah mutters her eyes narrowing slightly as she gazes over the metal. "It's more in a low powered state. How else would it manipulate its surroundings? As for said manipulations, it appears to have some sort of natural control over plant life... like Vah Naboris' control of electricity, Vah Ruto's water, Vah Rudania's fire, and Vah Medoh's wind."
"So... how do we put a stop to it?" I question.
"Yeah." Linkle nods along with me.
Purah lets out a low 'tsk'.
"Well, much like the other divine beasts, there should be some form of port to place a Sheikah slate within... the only issue is that said location is typically inside the divine beast in question. Something inaccessible to us as it is currently buried under what's possibly several hundred tons of earth."
"Shit." I curse.
"Damn it." Linkle echoes.
"Haah." I sigh dramatically. "That's such a pain."
"It is." The blonde agrees. "Should we see about finding something else first? I don't know if we are ready for a divine beast... even one like this."
"I was just thinking that." I nod slowly. "There has actually been something bothering me for a while."
"What is it?"
"The Tri Force." I begin, glancing to Purah.
"What about it?" Linkle questions.
"Remember that ancient artwork in the Shiek vault? Another piece was shown there."
"Do you think he had the magic one? The one Kogha has now?" She questions.
"No no. That's the thing... all three pieces were mine. I had Magic. I had Knowledge. And I had Ferocity... however... The image of the tri force in the story? It was upside down."
"Wait... and... you said it mentioned a time when 'Courage' fell?!" Linkle begins. "You don't think-"
""There are two Tri-Forces?"" We state at exactly the same time.
We both look to Purah.
"Don't look at me. I don't know!" The woman scoffs.
"But you have Aurum's Tri Force of knowledge." Linkle points out.
"Yeah!" I agree, only to turn to Linkle. "Oh, and thank you for remembering that it's mine."
"Kind of hard to forget you having a meltdown over it." She shrugs, causing me to roll my eyes and focus back on Purah.
"This power isn't... it's not Omniscience!" The woman states. "I can drop a rock and figure out the exact area of a cave and if there are any secret doors or invisible enemies by listening to the echo and taking into account any abnormalities, sure. But I can't just KNOW what's happening on the other side of Hyrule! I'm not some sort of god or all-powerful wizard!"
"Lame." I scoff.
"Aurum can do that with just a fancy lute." Linkle continues, equally as disappointed.
"Look. I'm also able to access ALL the knowledge left over by previous deceased users... there's nothing in here about a second tri-force. Not courage. Not strength. Or something else like... I don't know apathy or whatever."
"Is... that it?" I question. "Is accessing what's basically hyper-cognition and knowledge of the deceased all you can do?"
"Eh, I feel there's some things locked away, but for the life of me I can't really understand how to gain access..."
"Maybe you have a wimpy body that can't sustain the full power the triangle." I point out blandly.
"That-" Purah pauses, gazing downwards as she lets out a low hum. "You... might actually be onto something."
"It's the tri force of knowledge, so it'd be wimpy brain instead?" Linkle questions. "Does Purah have a wimpy brain?"
"Well, she is a one hundred and fifty year old granny. Dementia and Alzheimer's has probably long since set in by this point." I snort.
"ALRIGHT. I AM ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY AT MOST." She snaps, causing both Linkle and I to snort and look at each other, the two of us clearly amused.
"Regardless, I know what I saw in that temple." I state.
"I was there. You're right. Purah's looks upside down when you compare it to the one on the mural... and now that I look closer... the three triangles... they're on Hyrule's Royal Crest!"
"Ah! Mural! Thank you Linkle. I had forgotten the word and I didn't want to look stupid by asking." I continue.
"I'm Aware." She smirks, causing me to pause what I was about to say and give her a half-lidded stare.
She takes my disappointed stare in stride. "But if the Tri-Force is on the royal crest... what does that mean for the family?"
"Did they perhaps have all three pieces or something in the past?" I question. "The crest was also on that mural as well, so the Hyrule Royal symbol has been around for thousands of years. Predating even Calamity Ganon."
"We have a location to check out." Linkle points out. "But it's probably beyond us at the moment."
"Should we try to find another mask?" I ask. "So far, we have the Mask of Truth for you to wear... and, well, this."
I gesture to my eye and continue. "But we don't really have anything for me to wear for now, right?"
"Fair, but what sort of masks are there?" She continues.
"No clue." I shake my head. "We could see if any of the other Great Fairies have any leads... then we could also go and grab your sword that seals the darkness."
Linkle looks to her hand and clenches then unclenches her fist. "I... do not know if I am worthy enough to wield it yet. I'm recovering, slowly but surely, but a lot of my strength was zapped. My body also hasn't moved in around one hundred years, my skills are... rusty. My muscle memory is all gone, so I've had to more or less start from scratch yet again."
"We left your sword at the base of the Great Deku Tree." Purah announces.
"Impa told me." The girl nods once. "Regardless, that's on the other side of Hyrule. It would be such a waste of a trip to go there, and the master sword determines that I am still too weak for it."
"Well... now what?" I question. "Too weak to face a divine beast, too weak to go and nab the master sword. Too weak to go to that place and see if there is a second tri-force. No current leads on any other masks, what are we strong enough for?"
"Well, why don't we go to Vah Sarin? It is low powered at the moment. We- and by that I mean you- might be able to do something about it." Purah begins. "There should also be a Sheikah vault on the way over to it."
"Huh. The last vault was pretty good. Maybe this one has a mask as well. Let's go." I shrug. "Just remember that if we are getting tired... leave the forest."
""(But) Purah should be able to tell us if anything is wrong."" Linkle and I say at exactly the same time.
"And she should, considering she's very adamant about not giving me back my power." I frown.
"Yeah." Linkle agrees.
"Though, to be fair, I don't exactly know how to take it back?" I sigh. "And the only ways I can think of right now are incredibly violent, like murder or dismemberment, and I don't really want to do that, so I guess she can keep it for now."
"It's probably more worthwhile for her to have it... for now. From what she said, the Tri-Force of Knowledge seems more like a support power. Using her technological expertise, it's likely that she could put it to more use than you currently are able to. Building a bunch of cool stuff... like the car. What could she do with an entire divine beast?!"
"Yeah. That's the reason why I'm not taking it back- for now." I eventually relent with a slow nod.
"..."
"Alright, I wasn't going to say anything but you two are... different." Purah begins slowly.
"Probably the Tattoos." Linkle states.
"An Effect of the Mask." I blandly explain at the exact same time. "It seems to make us more 'in sync' whatever that means."
"That's exactly what I mean!" The white haired Sheikah scientist exclaims.
"Why? Are you unsettled that now we finish each other's-" I look to Linkle. "..."
She looks to me. "..."
"Sandwiches?" She tries after a long moment, only for a bright smile to break out on her face as I facepalm.
"I could really go for a sandwich right now, though." I mutter suddenly after a brief pause. "And I don't even need to eat thanks to the ring."
"Not Unsettled. Just confused, really." The woman quietly mutters. "Does the mask grant some form of telepathic link?"
""Telepathic Linkle.""
"FUCK." I loudly curse, really hoping I was going to be the only one to make that joke as Linkle smugly smirks at me.
My shoulders slump slightly as i let out a small sigh. "Well, shall we go to the car? See if Bokoblins have shown up to scrap it yet?"
"They had better not." The white haired woman lowly growls as she walks with a noticeable limp.
We begin making our way back through the temple. Through the long hallway leading up to the final room, through the large, eroded ballroom, and even through that annoying ring puzzle.
I offer Purah the bottle of air as we quickly crawl our way through the cave, eventually coming to the pool leading outside. "Purah, you said that with the sun and moon masks, we won't need to breathe, is that still the case?"
"Yeah." The woman nods once after a moment of consideration, staring at the two of us.
With that I hop down into the water.
A bubble of air springs to life around my head.
Linkle drops down into the water beside me, a bubble appearing around her head as well.
Purah enters lastly, her lips coming to the mouth of the bottle as we walk along the bottom of the water-filled tunnel.
After a few minutes of walking we come to the lake itself. We slowly swim upwards, Purah ahead of us.
As Linkle and I reach the surface, there's a brief rumble, the hidden door that was once the bottom of the Lover's Pond sealing back up behind us.
We swim to the edge of the little pool of water and climb out onto the grassy surface. For the first time in possibly twenty four hours... fresh air fills my lungs.
Linkle herself seems to bask in the sunlight, gazing up into the bright blue sky as water drips from her form. A long sigh of relief leaves her mouth as she gazes out over the fluffy clouds.
"Ahhh... Natural light." She smiles. "I'm honestly glad to be out of that cave."
"Same. I don't really like being that deep underground. Too cramped for my taste." I nod slowly as I turn and hold out a hand towards her.
Her clothes dry, her wet and messy hair fixing itself under the force of my prestidigitation cantrip.
I quickly do the same for myself.
Purah appears to look over her creation, letting out a sigh of relief after a moment. "Good. Nobody has messed with it."
I walk over, quickly drying Purah as well. "So, have you decided how we are going to get there?"
"Supposedly, the vault should be near the southern shore of Hyrule, and if my memory is correct, we should just be able to follow the beach." The Sheikah woman informs.
Linkle walks over, a relaxed expression on her face. "Sooo, beach time? That sounds good. Shall we go?"
"Might as well." I agree. "We're burning daylight."
With a single leap slip into the buggy, taking my spot in the back atop some billows which are lightly damp from the dew that probably fell last night.
I quickly dry them with prestidigitation, the spell that has now BY FAR become my favorite cantrip.
Linkle hops in after me, though, instead of the front passenger seat, she clambers towards the back with me, taking a seat in my lap, I can see the faintest of smirks on her face as she pulls up the cloth mask her Sheikah armor grants up over her nose, then she places the Mask of Truth over her face.
She seems to lounge in my lap, stretching her arms out lightly as her back presses against my chest as my arms wrap around her midsection.
We both abruptly turn to look at Purah as she struggles to climb into the vehicle, letting out quiet hisses and 'ah's as she moves too far.
"Fuck." She whispers as she nearly slips and falls, eventually letting out a small cry as she falls into the drivers seat.
"Pfft." Linkle snorts, causing the white haired woman to glare over her shoulder.
"I can't believe you two! You're like animals! Insatiable! Why did you fuck my ass?! I'm so sore! I can barely think straight!"
"You were the one who brought that on yourself." Linkle observes with an arrogant sniff, tilting her head back slightly as if she was looking down on something beneath her.
"If you didn't taunt us like a little brat, maybe I wouldn't have given you a spanking." I deadpan.
"Ugh... I can't believe you two." Purah groans. "I mean, really... these are the heroes who are supposed to save Hyrule from the calamity?! These two degenerate sex fiends?!"
"Hey." Linkle begins, taking the word right out of my mouth. "That's not nice. You're just as bad if not worse than us."
"Yeah." I agree with a nod. "You were the one who was begging for us not to stop and to give you more."
""Besides. Two degenerate sex fiends? I'm not as bad as her(him)."" Linkle and I continue at the same time, gesturing at each other, me with a point, Linkle with a thumb over her shoulder.
"You're both horrible." Purah bluntly observes as she glances back at the two of us, her eyes half-lidded and showing copious amounts of disappointment.
Her gaze strays to Linkle. "I've created a monster... Or... perhaps that monster was always there. Hidden away."
"You're the one who stripped my- very much a corpse- body before you tossed me in the shrine of resurrection as a joke." Linkle retorts.
Purah lets out a shaky gasp, covering her mouth. "What will Zelda think? Her knight... corrupted. Completely lost from her."
"I'll slap your ass again." Linkle threatens. "Heck, I'll have Aurum fuck your ass again."
Purah takes on a thoughtful expression, but before she can say anything like 'Pass' or 'Do it, you won't' I quietly speak up with a wince. "Yeesh. I bet I'm going to have a really awkward meeting with Zelda after defiling her personal knight like that."
Linkle this time gets a thoughtful expression. "Hmmmm...."
"It'll be fine." She eventually shrugs, relaxing back into my grasp.
She looks to Purah for a long moment, I briefly wonder what she is doing for a moment before it clicks.
'Ah. She's reading her mind.'
She turns around, glancing over to Purah as her fingers dance across my chest, her hidden gaze seems to be split between myself and the white haired sheikah woman.
Aaaah. She's trying to make her jealous.
Judging by the woman's pout it seems to be working. "Ugh. I can't believe you. Taunting me like that... did you ever consider that maybe I wanted to sit in his lap?"
"Yes. Which is why I'm doing this." Linkle smugly hums.
"What happened to that innocent little knight in training." Purah sighs wistfully as she starts the buggy, and seeing that Purah's no-longer looking, Linkle gets a little bit disappointed and turns back around, her breath hitching slightly as my hand finds its way to her chest.
Purah, continues looking forwards as we begin to slowly roll down the hill. "Ah well. Let's get a move on. Next stop? Some sort of Sheikah storage depot."
