Chapter 7 - Operation: Chaebol Revenge

Haewon's Ridiculous Plan

Haewon showed up at my dorm at 7 AM wearing sunglasses big enough to hide her entire face and shoved a garment bag at me.

"We're infiltrating Joonho's charity golf tournament," she announced.

I blinked sleep from my eyes. "We're what now?"

"You'll be my caddy. Here's your uniform."

I unzipped the bag to find... a full golfer outfit in the ugliest shade of green imaginable.

"I look like a moldy avocado," I deadpanned.

Haewon adjusted her sunglasses. "Exactly. No one will recognize you."

---

Undercover (Badly)

The country club was full of rich people who smelled like money and bad decisions. I trailed behind Haewon, pushing her clubs while trying not to trip over my too-white sneakers.

Joonho spotted us immediately.

"Haewon-ah!" He sauntered over, looking like a villain from a K-drama in his all-white ensemble. "I didn't know you played golf."

"There's a lot you don't know about me," Haewon said sweetly. Then she turned to me. "Caddy, my driver."

I handed her the club. "Here you go, your highness."

Joonho's eyes narrowed. "Your caddy looks... familiar."

I ducked my head and mumbled, "Lots of people tell me I look like that guy from that one drama. The ugly one."

Haewon coughed to cover a laugh.

The Bet

"Let's make this interesting," Joonho said, smirking. "If I win, you attend the engagement party next week. If you win..."

"You stop bothering me for a month," Haewon countered.

"Deal."

I leaned in to whisper, "You don't even know how to golf, do you?"

She smiled serenely. "That's what you're for."

"I WORK AT A CAFÉ."

How to Lose at Golf (Loudly)

What followed was the most embarrassing display of golf in history.

Haewon:

- Hit the ball backward. Twice.

- Accidentally launched a divot into Joonho's hair.

- "Missed" a putt so badly it rolled into the water hazard.

Joonho's face turned an impressive shade of red. "Are you doing this on purpose?"

Haewon blinked innocently. "I'm just terrible at sports. Isn't that right, caddy?"

I nodded solemnly. "The worst I've ever seen, sir."

---

The Unexpected Victory

By the 9th hole, Joonho was so flustered he:

- Sliced a ball into someone's convertible.

- Yelled at a referee (who turned out to be the club owner).

- Stormed off after being disqualified for "unsportsmanlike conduct."

Haewon turned to me, eyes sparkling. "We did it."

I high-fived her. "By 'we,' you mean your talent for being intentionally the worst, right?"

She grinned. "Let's get out of here before he realizes you're not actually a licensed caddy."

We bolted for the parking lot, laughing like idiots.

---

The Aftermath

Back at campus, Haewon suddenly got quiet.

"Thanks," she muttered. "For today."

I pretended to check my nonexistent watch. "Huh. Yoon Haewon said thank you. Is the world ending?"

She punched my arm (lightly). "Don't get used to it."

But she was smiling.
