Chapter 6 - 6

"This mission must be easy; all I have to do is reach the end of the road," Naoto said enthusiastically.

He started walking toward the light at the end of the path. As he progressed, he began running, eager for the reward, but soon grew tired.

He took a bottle of water from his inventory and drank until he quenched his thirst.

"This is really refreshing. Luckily, the system gave me food and water for three days."

Then he thought for a moment: why would the system give him food for three days and why assign him an easy mission here? Naoto realized he had been mistaken in his assumption, but since he was already inside, he had no other choice.

"I'll keep going; I have no other option."

Naoto continued down the path into the unknown. He walked on, feeling tired, but held back from consuming more of his food.

After a few hours, Naoto spotted the end of the road, the exit. He drank water and rushed toward it.

But he was surprised to find another place awaiting him.

Standing at the exit, he saw nothing but a barren desert. Shocked, Naoto sat on the ground, exhausted.

"Impossible... I wish I could go back."

Naoto stood and decided to keep going, as he had no other choice.

He walked through the desert without stopping, except for a few short rests to regain energy. Naoto walked so far that the entrance he came through was no longer visible.

Along the way, he saw an oasis and ran toward it eagerly, but when he arrived, he found it was a mirage.

The journey was exhausting for Naoto, but he did not give up. He continued walking through the barren desert, suffering thirst and hunger. Yet he did not lose hope and kept searching for a way out.

After many days, Naoto saw some footprints on the ground, which gave him hope that he might be close to the exit. He continued walking with more determination until he reached the edge of the desert.

When he arrived at the exit, he felt joy and relief, but was soon surprised to see a tropical forest ahead. He felt frustrated and tired but decided he could not go back and had to keep moving forward.

In the tropical forest, Naoto faced many difficulties. The forest was dark and dense, making navigation hard. He had to overcome huge trees and tangled branches. There were also dangerous predators and reptiles threatening his life.

Even at night, he could not sleep; he had to stay awake to beware of wild animals.

It would be fair to say that Naoto was unlucky.

He heard howling from afar and immediately got up, trying to escape. He tried to avoid encountering the wolves.

But he could not get away far enough because he couldn't outrun wolves.

Fortunately, only two wolves followed him.

They stopped in front of him.

Naoto stopped and began thinking about how to deal with the wolves. He had no weapons to defend himself.

He threw some stones away from himself to distract the wolves, but they didn't respond.

One of the wolves attacked and bit his arm.

Naoto groaned in pain from the bite and fell to the ground. Quickly, he searched behind him for something to use. He found a rock and hit the wolf, freeing his arm.

Naoto couldn't risk fighting because he was outnumbered and physically weak.

He began running to save his life.

Ahead of him were two trees with a narrow path between them.

One wolf chased him but got stuck between the trees. The other wolf pursued Naoto.

Naoto grabbed a stone, focused on hitting the wolf's head. The wolf jumped toward him. Naoto tried to hit it with the stone, but suddenly he thrust his knee into the wolf's lower jaw and activated his kickboxing skill: [Cutting Knee].

Naoto kept hitting the wolf with the stone. After several blows, he managed to kill the wolf and get rid of it. He felt tired and exhausted but at least survived the attack. He then went after the second wolf and killed it the same way.

The Host gained 150 experience points for killing two wolves.

Naoto breathed a sigh of relief and tore part of his clothes to tie around the bite wound.

He spotted a light and moved toward it.

Naoto continued walking through the tropical forest toward the light, hoping to find a way out.

After a few minutes, Naoto finally saw light at the edge of the forest. He felt joy and relief and walked quickly toward the light. When he arrived, he found himself before a beautiful lake.

He sat beneath a tree by the lake to rest.

The lake reflected the blue sky and the surrounding green trees. Small animals drank from the water, and the place was calm and peaceful.

Naoto felt safe and soon fell asleep.

The next day, Naoto woke up to the scorching sun.

The weather in the forest was very hot and humid. He had to deal with the humidity and high temperature and adapt to the harsh climate conditions.

Naoto's food and water supplies were nearly depleted. Luckily, the lake provided water, but he needed food. So, using his hunting experience taught by his grandfather, he crafted a tool.

He searched for a strong, hard stone.

He explored the surrounding area.

Naoto discovered some wild plants that could provide food. He collected fruits, roots, and herbs and added them to his supplies.

Then he found the required stone. Using a bigger stone, he repeatedly struck the first stone with moderate pressure in circular or longitudinal motions until he got a sharp edge.

He got a wooden stick and some tree bark rope and tied them together to make a stone spear.

This reminds me of the Stone Age.

Naoto hid behind a bush waiting for prey. After a few hours waiting, a deer approached the water to drink. Naoto quickly lifted the spear and threw it at the prey, successfully hunting it.

The Host gained 80 experience points.

"So this works too."

Naoto butchered the prey and hung it up in a tree. He used the stone to start a fire. He gathered firewood and placed it properly, then rubbed the stones quickly and strongly against the wood until the fire ignited. This skill was very important to Naoto as it would help him survive and keep warm on cold nights.

He ate enough to satisfy his hunger, added more firewood, and placed the meat in the smoke to preserve it as long as possible.
