The gates of Konoha stood tall—silent sentinels of a village born from fire and battle. Villagers bustled past without much attention, but the moment the ANBU escorts appeared flanking a red-eyed boy in black and gray robes, the crowd slowed. Whispers followed.
"Is that him?"
"The boy from the Chinoike..."
"I thought they were all gone…"
Rei Chinoike walked with precise steps. Not proud, not fearful—measured. His crimson irises shimmered under the morning light, not from emotion, but legacy.
He heard it all. Every word. Every breath.
But he said nothing.
-- Flashback: Red Valley, One Week Ago
Old man Irosu, the clan elder, placed a sealed scroll into Rei's hands.
"You were born with clarity, Rei. Not just power. That makes you dangerous to both them… and to yourself. You must walk among them—not as their weapon, not yet—but as their equal. If you ever wish to unchain us, first learn what freedom means outside these walls."
Rei bowed deeply. "I will not fail, elder."
----- Hokage Tower
Tsunade flipped through the file, eyes narrowing.
Name: Rei Chinoike
Age: 13
Bloodline: Ketsuryūgan
Dōjutsu Control: Intermediate – Genjutsu Precision: High
Combat Notes: Strategically advanced, chakra pool low but stable.
Shizune asked, "You sure about bringing him here? After what Danzo tried with Itachi, this might backfire."
Tsunade sighed, rubbing her temple.
"We either let a genius from a cursed bloodline rot in exile—or we try to break the cycle. He's smart. Smarter than most of our current Genin. But the council fears his eyes more than his mind."
----Konoha Academy Grounds
The air stilled as Rei entered the Academy field for the first time. He was placed in the sparring circle immediately—without ceremony.
His opponent: Hikaru, a confident Genin from the Sarutobi family.
Rei bowed. So did Hikaru. But something in Rei's stillness unnerved the boy.
"Try not to bleed," Hikaru joked, spinning his kunai.
The moment the match started, Rei ducked the first attack, slid behind Hikaru, and touched two fingers to the back of his neck.
The Genin froze—eyes wide. A vision of his worst fear—his team abandoning him mid-mission—flashed through his brain.
Genjutsu. Clean. Quiet. Precise.
"Match—Rei wins!" Iruka called, stunned.
Hikaru collapsed afterward, gasping, disoriented.
They were watching my eyes… not my hands. That's what the elders meant. Never let your bloodline speak louder than your skill.
If they want fear, they'll get silence instead.
------Later that Night — Hokage's Office
Tsunade sipped her tea, eyes fixed on the moonlit window.
"He doesn't use power like a boy. He uses it like a scalpel."
Shikamaru—now an aide to the Hokage—nodded.
"He's dangerous. Not because he's strong—but because he knows when not to be."
Tsunade finally smiled.
"Put him under surveillance. But allow him to train. We'll say it's probation… but really, I want to see what he's hiding."
Meanwhile- Rei in his room
Rei sat cross-legged, shirt off, tracing a faint scar on his chest.
He unfolded the scroll Elder Irosu had given him. Inside were Chinoike clan breathing techniques, old blood-seal illusions, and one sentence written in crimson ink:
"To be truly free, you must walk among wolves without baring your fangs."
Rei clenched his fist.
I will walk among them. I will earn their respect. And when I'm ready… I'll return for the others.
His Ketsuryūgan flickered softly in the moonlight.
