Chapter 62 - CHAPTER -57: Fracture Point (final cut)

Kairo's hand stayed caged against the wall, his body a shadow over Ayan's. The distance was paper-thin, the kind that could vanish with a breath.

"You think you can handle me?" Kairo's voice was low, dangerous.

Ayan's eyes gleamed in the dim light, sharp as glass. "I already am."

The silence between them pulsed, alive. Their breaths tangled, chest to chest, the tension coiling like a predator ready to strike.

Kairo leaned closer, close enough that Ayan could taste the threat in the air. His knuckles brushed the wall beside Ayan's head, trembling with restraint. "You don't know what you're asking for, Omega."

Ayan tilted his head, lips inches from Kairo's, a ghost of a smile tugging at the corner. "Maybe I do."

The room felt too small for the weight of them. Every heartbeat was a countdown, every exhale a dare.

But neither crossed the line.

Instead, Kairo pulled back the slightest fraction — not retreat, not surrender, just denial sharpened into cruelty. His voice was a blade as he murmured:

"Keep pushing me, and one day you'll regret it."

Ayan's smirk didn't falter, though his chest rose a little too fast. "One day isn't today."

The fracture didn't break. Not yet. But both of them felt it coming — the inevitable collapse.
