In a dark, damp, and abandoned warehouse in the city of Khuo, a group of street-dwelling demons were enjoying a feast of virgin human women—using them until they were nothing more than hollow shells, then proceeding to devour them. The victims' endless screams never reached anyone; not a single passerby could hear them, thanks to a powerful silence spell cast over the area.
—P-please… I'm begging you, let me go!
A black-haired girl pleaded, her forehead pressed against the ground. Tears streamed down her face, her body was covered in bruises, and there were traces of dried blood at the corners of her lips.
She sobbed uncontrollably as she trembled. She didn't want this—she refused it with every fiber of her being. From the bottom of her heart, she rejected the idea of suffering the same fate as her friend. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw her friend's lifeless body. Her clothes were shredded, her body broken. Her eyes were wide open, her face frozen in an expression of despair. One of the demons took a step toward her, and the girl trembled even harder.
With every step the demon took, the fear in her heart grew heavier, more suffocating.
—Hah? Since when does a pathetic human even have the right to beg me? Damn bitch. You should be grateful to be f**ked by me! —The demon, a monstrous hybrid between a pig and a bull, growled in irritation. Suddenly picking up speed, he kicked the girl with such force that the wall she struck cracked under the impact.
—Kghh—was the only sound she managed to make as she felt her bones snap. Slowly, her vision began to blur with blood. Her expression of pain shifted into one of horror as the three smaller demons—goblin-like creatures—leapt onto her. With their claws, they began to tear through her clothing… and her flesh.
—I guess… this is the end for me. I'm going to be abused by these monsters, and when they get tired of me, they'll kill me and eat me. —Silently, she began to cry as the last piece of clothing covering her lower body was torn away. With all the agony and desperation weighing on her, she gathered the last bit of strength she had left for one final effort and screamed:
—Please! Someone… anyone… save me!
—Hahaha! —The demons burst into laughter at her cry.
—Did you really think that would work? Haven't you learned anything from what happened to your little friend here? —said the largest demon, kicking the lifeless body of the girl on the floor.
—Listen carefully, no one is coming to save you. We'll use you until we're done, and then we'll eat you—just like we've done with hundreds of your kind. Not even God can save you now.
—Boom! —With a deafening explosion, the warehouse's main entrance was blown off its hinges, crushing one of the goblins beneath it and sending debris flying everywhere. A cloud of thick dust filled the air. The remaining demons instantly raised their guard, summoning magic circles in their hands. Through the swirling haze, only faint purple glows were visible. One of the goblins launched a fireball at whatever figure lurked behind the dust.
—Bzzzz… —The sound of electricity crackling filled the air, the only response to the attack. Then came a robotic voice:
—Enemy attack repelled — Force field energy consumed — Remaining energy: 99.1% — Warning: hostile lifeforms detected — Redirecting energy to combat mode — Awaiting authorization…
—Do it! —This time, a human voice rang out through the dust.
—Combat mode approved — 70% of energy being redirected.
Before the demons could react, a streak of purple light shot toward them—aimed precisely at the goblins, who were instantly annihilated the moment it made contact. What remained of them vanished in a flash of searing purple flame, a blaze so powerful the larger demon instantly recognized it as something far beyond ordinary fire.
—Tch… That's no ordinary magic… —he muttered, his face contorting in alarm.
The intense glow of the purple flames danced across the walls of the warehouse, casting eerie shadows. The temperature rose sharply, the very air beginning to hum with violent energy.
From within the dissipating dust, a figure began to emerge—silhouetted against the fading embers. A humanoid shape, metal-clad and crackling with energy, stepped forward with mechanical precision.
The demons instinctively backed away, the largest of them growling under his breath, already charging a destructive spell in his hands.
—What the hell is that thing…?
—W-who are you?! Show yourself! —the demon demanded, his voice carrying a trace of fear.
Despite not sensing any magical energy, the purple flame he had just witnessed could only have been conjured through magic—or so he believed. That fact alone sent a chill through his monstrous body.
Bit by bit, the remaining dust in the warehouse began to clear, revealing the figure—or rather, figures—standing at the center of the chaos.
What the demon saw left him stunned.
At the front stood a humanoid figure encased in sleek, black and silver armor. Glowing circuits pulsed across its surface, radiating a steady violet light. The helmet had no eyes, only a single horizontal visor emitting a dim, foreboding glow. Steam hissed from its back vents, and arcs of electricity flickered across its limbs with every movement.
Behind it, partially hidden in shadow, stood a second figure: a young boy, calm and emotionless, observing the scene with cold calculation in his crimson eyes.
The armored being raised its hand—energy surging around its arm—and pointed directly at the demon.
The voice returned, cold and mechanical:
—Threat identified. Demon-class hostile. Level: Sub-Elite. Initiating neutralization protocol.
A smile formed on the demon's face. They were humans — of all possible enemies he could have imagined, he never thought they would be humans. Unable to contain himself any longer, a burst of laughter escaped his mouth.
"Ha ha ha ha!" It took him a moment to regain composure, but he kept laughing as he took a moment to analyze the humans in front of him. Suddenly, a vein throbbed on his head.
"Are they ignoring me?" He was stunned to see how the humans immediately moved toward the women on the ground, completely ignoring him. He could have killed them on the spot for such disrespect, but being in a surprisingly good mood, he decided to wait.
Finally, after a moment, the woman wielding a spear separated from the others and approached him. Her hand gripped tightly a spear that seemed to be made of green crystal.
"Hey, demon," the woman's voice echoed coldly through her helmet. The demon guessed it was because of what he had done to the woman's corpse on the floor. He smiled at the woman and licked his lips as he took in her figure. The woman visibly trembled and gripped her spear even tighter, but contrary to what he expected, she was not trembling with fear — she was trembling with rage.
"You'd better use your strongest spells if you want to live a few seconds longer." With an elegant spin of her spear, the woman launched herself at inhuman speed toward the demon, who couldn't react in time.
With a surprised expression, the demon watched as the human woman charged at him, spear pointed directly at him. Still, he was not worried; unlike the goblins that were killed, he was much stronger. He was neither afraid of the weapon that had killed his minions nor of a simple spear.
With a mocking smile, he extended his hand, palm open, expecting the spear. He wanted to see how the woman would react when she realized her weapon had no effect on him — would she beg for mercy upon seeing him kill her companions, or would she simply kill herself?
"Shrrrsh." The sound of flesh being pierced echoed. The demon's eyes opened wide in surprise before contracting in pain.
Using great force in his legs, the demon jumped backward, distancing himself as fast as possible from the spear-wielding woman. "W-what just happened?!" Panic-stricken, the demon looked at his palm, now covered in blood, and wondered what the spear was made of. At first glance, it looked like crystal, but it had pierced his body — making it harder than steel.
"Fshhh." The sound of air being cut snapped him back from his thoughts just in time to see another spear hurtling straight at him.
"Kghh!" A loud grunt escaped his mouth as the spear impaled his stomach and dragged him several meters before embedding him into the wall.
"That's enough of this!" With a loud roar, he pulled the spear from his stomach and stood up. Quickly, he used healing magic on himself, closing the hole in his abdomen. "I admit, you surprised me. I didn't expect you to have a weapon capable of hurting me. But I wonder what you'll do without it." Throwing the woman's weapon aside, he used magic to strengthen his body beyond imaginable limits. This was his best magic — many demons, and even his own master, had fallen to it.
In less than the blink of an eye, the demon vanished from the sight of the three humans. At this moment, he could move nearly at the speed of sound, making him practically invisible to human eyes. Approaching the unsuspecting woman, the demon struck her with all his might, sending her flying. The woman should have been dead from the combination of his strength and speed. But something felt wrong. Lowering his gaze, he saw that his arm was missing, replaced by a bloody stump.
"AAAAhhhh!" In pain, he grabbed what was left of his hand. His mind couldn't understand what was happening. That human should be dead. Why was he the one who was hurt?
"Ellen! Stop playing and finish him — we have more demons to eliminate." Amidst his pain, he heard the voice of the man in the group. Who were these humans who spoke so casually about killing demons?
"Tch, fine. I'll kill him quickly."
"Do you think I'll let you kill me, you damn pest?" Using all his remaining energy, a magical circle covered the entire warehouse. It glowed a deep red and slowly rotated. "I'll kill you all. I'll find your families and kill them too!" Furious, he no longer cared about revealing his location to the noble families of the city; he just wanted to kill these humans. Using the last drop of his energy, he created a powerful magical circle of fire on the ground that would explode on the humans while he retreated at his incredible speed. At least, that was his plan.
Sigh — "How stupid."
The three humans touched their metal bracelets, and disks shot out from them, adhering to the walls. The disks glowed a bright purple.
"Defense Protocol 001, activate force field and gravity trap."
"Order accepted. Activating Protocol 001."
Immediately, the demon felt his knees buckle under an invisible force. Even the floor beneath him sank under the weight. Slowly, his bones began to break one by one. He couldn't utter a word, as even breathing became difficult from the pressure. Finally, the magical circle absorbed all his mana, and a hellfire erupted inside the warehouse. With hopeful eyes, the demon waited for the flames to die down.
When the fire ceased, the demon felt fear of a human for the first time in his life as he saw the figure of a woman with a spear approach him. Using all his strength, he tried to move from where he was, but the invisible weight held him still. The woman's helmet lifted, and she looked directly into his eyes.
"Demon, did you ever think you would die at the hands of one of the weak humans you so cruelly abused? Tell me, demon — do you regret what you have done?"
"I—I—" he could not answer, as his head was pierced by a spear.
"Forget it. I don't need to hear your filthy words."
