Chapter 1 - PREQUEL :The Angel who never returned

Chapter:1

CHRONOS'S LAST STAND.

World was breaking, and time itself wept.

In the twilight between eternity and death, Chronos stood alone on a battlefield that no mortal could comprehend. His body was no longer flesh but a living constellation of fractured stars, his veins burning with the light of galaxies. In his hands, he held Aionios, a scythe that carved rifts through reality, each swing tearing centuries from existence as though they had never been.

The gods were afraid. And gods never admitted fear.

Through the smoke of collapsing mountains and burning skies walked the three divine brothers—Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. Zeus, king of the skies, wielded lightning that devoured the heavens. Poseidon, lord of the seas, carried storms in his trident, each step shaking the oceans of the world. Hades, the silent master of death, moved like a shadow among shadows, his black cloak whispering of eternal ends.

"Your era is over, Chronos," Zeus bellowed, his voice echoing like a war drum that shook the stars themselves. "Time bows to me now."

Chronos slowly turned his gaze toward them. His eyes were black abysses filled with countless lives, past and future all trapped within. His voice, though calm, carried a weight that crushed the air.

> "You are children," he said.

"You think time can be ruled? You think eternity belongs to kings? You are nothing but waves, crashing against an endless sea."

With that, Chronos raised Aionios. The sky split like fragile glass.

---

The battle that followed was not of mortals or even gods. It was a war of ages.

Mountains shattered into dust and then reformed, rivers reversed their flow, freezing midair before boiling into mist. Seconds stretched into eternities, and eternities collapsed into moments. The very fabric of reality screamed as their powers clashed.

Poseidon was the first to strike. His trident became a spiraling hurricane, a tidal serpent roaring with the fury of unending oceans. It coiled around Chronos, ready to crush him. But the titan simply touched it. With a flick of his wrist, he aged the storm by a thousand years, turning the great serpent to ash in the wind.

"Brother!" Hades called out. From his shadows, chains made of the souls of the dead erupted, coiling around Chronos's legs like serpents of black fire. "Now!"

Zeus descended like a comet, his lightning spear howling. He drove it into Chronos's chest, piercing the titan's heart.

The world went silent.

---

Chronos looked down at the weapon lodged within him. Then… he smiled.

> "You think this is victory?"

"I am time. And I will not die. I will scatter myself… and you will regret what you have done."

Before the gods could react, Chronos shattered his own heart. Seven burning fragments burst out from his chest, each one glowing like a sun. They shot across the realms, vanishing into the depths of Hell.

His voice lingered with them.

> "Seven hearts… seven sins… when they unite, my heir will rise."

---

The ground trembled as his body dissolved into starlight. His final words echoed, carved into the air like fate itself.

> "When the child of angel and abyss awakens, the heavens will burn. He will sit on the Throne of Echoes… and decide the fate of gods."

And then he was gone.

---

For a long moment, the brothers said nothing.

Poseidon lowered his trident, still breathing hard. "Did… did he curse us?"

Zeus's eyes flickered like stormfire, but unease lingered beneath his cold expression. "Not a curse," he said. "A warning. We will make sure such a child never exists."

Hades's voice was low and sharp. "Time always finds a way. Even gods cannot kill prophecy."

Zeus's grip tightened on his spear. "Then we will kill prophecy itself."

---

The war of the Titans was over. But something far darker had begun.

This was the birth of the age that would lead to Requiem.
