Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 : Freeloaders

A white stylish sports car zoomed into the compound of a large warehouse. As it screeched to a stop, a massive dust veil was stirred.

Kalen raised the door of the convertible Roadster, ' The Parazi Neo is a menace.' He staggered slightly before realizing himself.

The car was fast, not as fast as his bike, but he had never riden at that speeds before. It seemed like Michael was attempting to kill them both with the way he weaved through traffic.

Michael bounce above the door, landed gracefully on the sandy ground and brushed away the dust particles on his shirt.

" Feel the vibe Kally, you'll get any girl you want with this baby. Including that bitch of yours." He said earning a dark look from Kalen.

Walking forward Kalen observed the huge compound. " Looks like where they create drugs." Michael tossed his car keys, and caught them. " They did."

Kalen quickly turned to him, " Just kidding, they made metal products, like hammers, nails, poles. Shit like that." Kalen walked up to the building and pulled on the padlock.

" It's encrypted, don't be fooled by its ordinary looks." Michael remarked holding up the padlock to his eye level. Nearly Kalen almost believed it was biometric.

Suddenly him brought out a key slotted it in, and earned a slap to the head from Kalen. They walked into a dark hall, illuminated only by very few open windows located on the roof.

Switching on the lights, Michael tilted his head, his expression serious. " You see, when I bought this land and building, they were supposed to clear all the compartments and tools they used.

Instead they took the useful stuff and left slugs of metal junk everywhere. So Mr enhanced, clear out the trash and then we'll discuss your pain. More like mine."

Michael wasn't done talking when Kalen walked towards a toddler sized slab of iron. He activated all his capabilities, still having to test the limits of his new prowess.

Effortless he picked up the slab which would have taken two adult men a strain to lift. " Where should I drop it, Boss." Kalen asked.

Michael looked up form his phone and pointed at a corner. He wanted to look back down but froze, he looked back up with his eyes bulging with disbelief.

He watched silently as Kalen vanished from view, appearing all around the warehouse. Picking up a ton's weight and throwing it around, like it was a rock.

The speed and agility Kalen showcased was beyond human limits, far beyond that. Within mere minutes, the entire warehouse was cleared. Kalen sat on the pile of metal scraps whistling an upbeat tone.

A clatter from a falling object caused him to look at Michael, who's phone had fallen. The boy stepped over it while walking forward, surprisingly crushing it easily. " You mistaken broke your phone moron."

Michael ignored his words and kept walking closer. Kalen jumped down the pile, landing before Michael. " Pinch me am dreaming." He said dazed, his expression gobsmacked.

A smirk appeared on Kalen's face as he slapped him on the cheeks. He deactivated his superhuman strength so Michael wouldn't get turned into a pulp.

" I said pinch me fool, not violate my beautiful face you ugly old bull." Michael commented trying to retaliate with a slap which got caught.

Kalen chuckled, " You about to start panicking, I had to deal a preemptive strike." Michael pulled back his slap and shot a punch so fast, Kalen couldn't dodge.

Rubbing his aching abdomen, Kalen sat on a scrap, " Hold my prize, when the time is right I would decide what I want." Michael sat besides him, " Then you better decided quick before I forget."

" But before that, how did you get it, who sponsored you, why did they choose you of all people." Michael bombarded, he didn't even wait for an answer before continuing.

" What is your force power, why is your augment strange, why are you so chill instead of massacring innocent civilians?" Kalen rolled his eyes.

" I am telling you this because you are the only one I can trust. My powers aren't scientific like that of the enhanced, but is supernatural. I know you might not believe but there many things we don't know."

Michael sighed, his demeanor thoughtful. " I actually believe you Kalen, you remember that time in seventh grade. That time I didn't come to school for almost a month."

Kalen nodded.

" Well I was at my wealthy uncle's house, it was all fun and games till I saw something I was never ment to see. I had a dreadful nightmare one night, so I journeyed to my uncle's room for comfort.

When I got their and walked through the ajar door, I was meet with a strange occult ritual. My uncle was adorned in a golden regalia superior to the members around him.

They stood round a runic circle, chanting and praying to a strange God to bless them with something they said was a Monarch.

I was about to leave when someone held me on my shoulder, I turned to look and saw my uncle's wife smiling benevolently like she always did. Then everything went black." He sighed again.

" When I woke up I remembered nothing: sat like a disabled patient at the back of my parents car and was driven home. Nothing special happened to me since them but I did get some blurred corrupted memories.

Hell I didn't remember what happened till I was fourteen, and then it was always like a fairytale when I shared it with someone. Even my parents laughed it of, yet those memories felt vivid."

Kalen cracked his fingers and said calmly, " Maybe they let you of because they thought you wouldn't understand. The mysteries our world is enshrouded in is countless, but with this power we would uncover them."

Michael smiled, " Yes we will.", after these words, the next minutes were spent in silence, a peaceful silence. " Let's go flexing, am hungry. Later we would discuss about your powers." Michael suddenly said.

Kalen laughed heartily, " Yeah all those weight lifting has made me famished." They both rose and headed for the exit discussing about other things.

They locked up the warehouse.

Tapping the car door moments later, Kalen whistled loudly." This car is crazy hot, how much did you buy it."

" A few hundred grand, you want me to get you one." Michael answered and asked with a mischievous smile on his face. " To hell with it, I've got a killer bike infinitely more faster. My pay would cost you a limb."

Michael revved the engine, " Nothing is costly for me." The car hadn't moved an inch when it abruptly stopped. Some men entered the compound with a bouncing gait, thier demeanor said nothing but trouble.

Counting the men, Kalen turned to his partner. " Did you higher workers already." " Nope, they're just some local thugs who use to feed of the previous workers and owner of this place." Michael replied.

Kalen scoffed walking out of the car. ' I haven't fought seventeen men before but am stronger now, this should be easy.' " Drive around till I clear a path for our escape, don't do anything stupid alright."

Michael nodded then drove off, while Kalen walked forward to meet the guests.
