Chapter 59 - The Queen's Fear

Chapter 59 Writer's POV

As the scene unfold in the palace chambers, the queen's movements were desperate, her voice low and urgent as she spoke to the king, her mate. She glanced around the room as if ensuring they were alone, her eyes locking onto the king's with a intensity that was almost hidden. There was a longing in her words, a desperation to make him understand.

"My love," she said, her voice barely above a whisper, tears welling up in her eyes. "Please don't go. I have... feelings about this. About going to the temple of the black witches. It might be a trap."

The king took a step closer, his face softening as he tried to calm her. Though the queen is a man of secrets and a gay,he doesn't neglect his mate. He reached out, taking her hands in his, his touch gentle. "My queen," he said, his voice filled with reassurance. "Why do you think that way,why a trap,I assure you, we'll be careful. We need that gold to secure our kingdom's future. I'll lead the party myself, and we'll return victorious."

The queen's eyes overflowed with tears, and she clung to the king, her grip tight on his arms. "No, no, please don't go," she whispered, her voice breaking. "I can't lose you. I can't –"

The king tried to gently pry her hands away, his expression a mix of love and resolve. "My queen," he said softly. "I must go. Duty calls. I'm not going to die,I know the temple is rumored to be hunted, but that's not true"

But the queen wouldn't let go. She clung to him tighter, tears streaming down her face. "Don't leave me," she sobbed. "Please don't leave me."

The king's gaze lingered on hers for a moment, sometimes he feels guilty for having an affair but he can't help the pleasure, he carefully detached her hands from his arms. "I'll return," he said. "I promise."

With that, he turned away from her, heading out to join the party waiting in the courtyard. The queen collapsed to her knees, sobbing uncontrollably as she watched him go.

In the courtyard, the convoy of cars was ready to depart. Duke Ryker was overseeing the final checks, and Onyi looked on, a mix of emotions on his face as he stared at the far end of the palace. The king joined them, his expression resolute.

The cars pulled out of the palace courtyard, heading toward the temple of the black witches. The queen remained in the palace, sobbing in her chambers.
