Chapter 2 - The Tutorial Quest

Ding!

Would you like to start the Tutorial Quest?

Hmm… Let's see what the quest is first before we begin.

[Tutorial Quest: Become a Qualified Candidate]

Description:

You have passed the screening phase of the Nexus Hero Academy {Nexus Hero Academy}entrance exam mostly thanks to your absurd luck.

However, unless you rank at the very top of the practical examination, you won't be admitted into the academy.

Yes, the very top.

Rewards:

• 1 Low-Grade Weapon

• 1 Random Box

Failure:

• Rejection from the Nexus Hero Academy.

Sigh… So much for the quiet school life I wanted.

So I've been accepted as a first-round candidate. The next phase will take place inside the academy itself Nexus Hero Academy, one of the top three institutions for hero training in the world.

Thankfully, the map layout hasn't changed. Still, I should start preparing.

Now… let's test this new Luck stat.

Treasure Sparkles

You've triggered an Unusual Luck Event:

> [Jackpot! Jackpot! Jackpot!]

Your Luck has activated its path! Congratulations.

You have acquired the following:

• [Lucky Insight] – Rank: F / SSS

• [True Scan] – Rank: F / EX

• [Magic Ruler] – Rank: F / SSS

"Haha! Jackpot, baby!"

Two SSS-ranked skills and one EX-tier? This is insane.

So this is what happens when Luck reaches 99.

With these, I can finally start leveling the playing field no pun intended. Alright, time to begin the Tutorial Quest.

Nexus Hero Academy > Main Campus

Nexus Hero Academy.

One of the most elite, distinguish, and powerful institutions in the world recognized as one of the Three Pillars of Heroic Education. Nestled in a fortified arcane technological city, the campus is protected by layers of enchantments, military-grade defense systems, and surrounded by prestige.

Nexus is the world's greatest training institute that boasted state-of-the-art magic, science, and engineering. It was located in the East Sea on a huge artificial island twice the size of most island.

Admission is next to impossible without sheer talent, top-tier lineage, or a fate marked by greatness. Nexus doesn't just produce heroes it forges legends. Its graduates are guild masters, national champions, even myth-tier warriors.

Elite's cadets from all over the world would attend the school and further increase the competition. In a sense, this place could be considered too harsh to be a proper home for 16-19 year olds.

The curriculum is brutal:

Live dungeons.

Magical resistance tests.

And death-level simulations e.t.c.

Add to that rumors of hidden relics, secret factions, and mysterious instructors with god-like powers… Yeah, not exactly a place for low-profile students.

Even with support staff like cleaners, engineers, doctors, and security, the campus population tops 50,000. It's practically a small country and some even say it rivals one.

Kael could be considered an elite as a Nexus cadet. His destiny should be detached from even going to Nexus since I didn't plan for this. I wouldn't have to live the burdening life of a main character and would probably live a carefree life. I always wanted that kind of life too. I sighed.

Anyway…

---

I need to make a proper debut. But with my current stats? I'd lose to literally anyone in this school.

Yep. I'm still a weakling.

"Excuse me, ma'am. Where's the waiting room?"

"Down that hall and to the right."

"Thank you."

I entered quickly didn't want to block the others behind me.

The room was packed with cadets already. Some looked dangerous. Others looked important.

I should avoid making enemies… for now.

Better to blend in and make a few allies. Surviving this place means playing smart, not loud.

I found a seat mid-row and sat down quietly, ears tuned to the casual chatter around me.

Dying… Just the thought of it again… makes me tear up a little.

Why can't I just enjoy my second life in peace?

"HELLO! HELLO!! HELLO!!!"

A loud, clear voice echoed across the room.

"I am Ronan Wolfe, an S-class hero and your instructor for today's practical exam. I expect full cooperation!"

Woah... an actual S-class hero? They're using him for a tutorial exam?

This school really isn't holding back.

I yawned quietly and quickly covered my mouth. Hopefully no one noticed to me.

Ugh… They're still going on about world theory, monster classifications, and historical background. All of which I've heard a thousand times before. It's basically copy-pasted from the game's lore guide.

They call it the Body of Repetition a state where reality loops for the sake of simulation. Only now, I'm the one inside it.

"And now, we move on to the real event: the practical examination, before that one last words about Nexus."

"Nexus is objective. The only indicator of success will be your grade. That'll be the only thing that guilds look at, so we will grade you accurately and strictly. You will be held back if you underperform. Statistically, less than half of Nexus cadets graduate without repeating a semester. Even then, you can be held back up to 2 years. Any more than that and you will be expelled. If you can't become a hero, you can become an agent or a mercenary. I take it that's not what you want well that if you are able to pass the practical examination."

"I hope you all do your best. And I look forward to seeing which of you rises to become the next generation of heroes."

So it begins.

The Nexus Hero Academy entrance exam.

My quiet debut is officially over. Thanks to the Tutorial Quest, it's now going to be flashy.

Sigh... Let's get the game started.
