Chapter 74 - Chapter 74: Black and White Slushy 1

They stood there in complete silence right next to each other, Senzo and Sophie both with their own thoughts, but they shared one sentiment: they wanted Yugiri to wake up as soon as possible.

"..."

"I guess it's worth a try."

Senzo said suddenly as he calmed himself down and focused on Yugiri's body, trying to utilize his newfound powers to see if he maybe could do something for the little girl.

"What did you say?" Sophie asked; she heard Senzo mumble something, but she couldn't quite catch what he had said.

But she received no reply—Senzo was engrossed, searching for anything he could do for the little girl.

So all Sophie could do was take a step back and let him do his thing.

Please let her wake up.

Clasping her hands together, she closed her eyes and prayed for a miracle to happen.

Hmm, everything looks good, like the doctors said. Her body is perfectly balanced. Senzo thought, while carefully inspecting her whole body.

Even if the doctors said there were no injuries, you never know; with this newfound ability of his, he could confirm it, so why would he not use it?

But then when he took a look at her head, his eyes widened instantly.

What the hell is that?

What he saw left him confused, frightened, and most of all, seething with wrath.

There was no harmony in her head; Yin and Yang no longer circulated. They pooled, tangled into a dense knot behind her eyes and inside her brain.

Black and white pressed together, not in balance but in refusal to move.

It wasn't damaged.

It was stagnation.

Like a river frozen mid-flow, trapping everything beneath its surface.

Does that mean it's all related to the trauma of being captured by those fuckers?

But before the rage could take over, Senzo felt the Taiji energy inside him smoothly flow around, readjusting his fluctuating mood.

"Fuuu."

"Calm down; now is not the time for this. I need to do something about the stagnation."

Then he turned around and made eye contact with Momiji and Sophie.

"Ahem, listen up, you two. I think I might be able to help Yugiri, but no one, and I mean no one, can disturb me while I try to help her. So could you two keep watch in the hallway and make sure no one enters until I give the signal?"

"!!!"

"Are you certain, Senzo?" Sophie asked, her hands violently shaking.

"I can't say I'm 100% sure it will work, but it will most definitely help her." he stated as the Taiji energy kept flowing throughout his body, calming him.

"Understood, please help her." Momiji took Sophie's hand and left the room quietly.

"Uh, Momiji, are you sure about this?" she whispered, glancing at the now closed door with concern.

"What else can we do now? Nothing, so why not let him try? What's the worst that could happen? I'm certain he won't do anything that could possibly harm her."

"..."

Sophie had no rebuttal to that, but she was still very worried about Senzo's mental condition and letting him do something like that at the current moment.

"I understand; let's trust him and hope he can help her."

Momiji just nodded her head solemnly; her hands had been shaking this whole time, but sometimes you had to put aside your doubts and take immediate action, like now.

Please, Senzo, save her!

Inside the room, Senzo stood right next to Yugiri, carefully inspecting the black and white slushy behind her eyes from all angles.

If he wanted to help her, he had to make sure no mistakes would be made, and while he was carefully observing the slushy, he found something interesting.

In the center, he caught a glimpse of a small figure curled in a fetal position, trapped and unable to escape.

"..."

He had barely caught a glimpse of it in a stroke of luck the first time, but the second time he was certain—that small figure was Yugiri.

"Was it that harsh on you?"

"Calm down, Senzo; if I want to get her out of there, I need to stay calm."

The other reason he was taking his time inspecting every angle of the slushy was so he himself could be in the correct mindspace; rage was useless at the moment because it would only make him impulsive and prone to making mistakes.

So he had to take it slow and let the Taiji energy purify all his negative emotions; luckily, it worked rather fast.

A couple of minutes later, he felt ready. He'd inspected every angle and decided to penetrate the slushy from the top—that way he wouldn't risk damaging her psyche or personality.

Even though all the knowledge was imprinted in my brain, that doesn't mean I can just perfectly use it; I must stay on guard and carefully stimulate the Yin and Yang so it finds its balance once more.

Then it was finally time to start.

Senzo carefully placed both his hands on top of Yugiri's head, but he didn't immediately inject his energy to resolve the problem; no, at first he just softly massaged her head and focused solely on what impact that had on the slushy.

As expected, nothing...

Now it was time. He'd inject the energy slowly, stimulate the Yin and Yang, and draw the small Yugiri out once more.

Slowly, very slowly and carefully.

"Fuuu."

He first sent a tiny sliver of Taiji energy into her head to see what effect it would have on the slushy, and surprisingly, he saw it move a little bit, but right after, the tiny strand of energy had been absorbed and vanished as well.

"It's definitely possible, but I can't let my guard down. That was only a tiny strand, and the effect could change if I send more in."

He had decided on his plan of action: after seeing the reaction of the tiny sliver of energy, he would inject a constant supply of tiny slivers of Taiji energy to slowly and safely get rid of the imbalance.

Let's go!

The moment of truth had finally arrived as he slowly but surely injected one tiny sliver of energy after the other, keeping his eyes glued to the massive slushy to make sure he could react to any and every abnormality that could happen.
