Chapter 50 - Chapter 50: Confrontation

"Did that calm you down?" he casually asked the three panting girls in front of him.

"Huff, huff, huff."

But it looked like the three of them couldn't hear him and were still recovering from what he had just put them through.

After he realized that, he just took a step back and waited patiently for the three of them to catch their breath so they could have a proper conversation without all the nonsense.

"Are you two okay?" Kaoru asked, glaring at Senzo, who was leisurely standing in front of them with his hands in his pockets.

Aoi and Shiho nodded their heads; even though they had rather pale complexions, at least they could see and hear once more.

After confirming that the other two were all right, Kaoru shakily stood up and stared straight at Senzo with hatred in her eyes.

"What did you just do?!" she demanded.

"I just gave you all a reality check and showcased the difference between our abilities," Senzo said casually with a shrug.

"Also, that was necessary; otherwise, would you all have calmed down enough to have a proper conversation?"

"..."

Silence followed as the three girls suddenly found the ground very interesting.

"Um, we're sorry," Kaoru said meekly, as her hands clutched her skirt tightly.

"It's fine, so how about it? Let's have a proper discussion now, okay?" Senzo asked the three, hoping they had come to their senses and wouldn't just blindly attack him anymore.

Kaoru nodded her head furiously and took a more relaxed stance after realizing that Senzo didn't mean to harm them at all and just wanted to have a talk.

"Let's take a seat first then."

After Senzo said that, he clapped his hands. The scenery changed once again—the bustling city vanished, replaced by a luxurious room. Senzo took a seat at the round table between them.

"Wow."

Was the only thing the three could mutter upon seeing the scenery change once again, and it truly felt like they had just teleported, but they knew very well that Senzo did not have the psychic power of teleportation.

After the three took a seat next to each other opposite Senzo, Shiho couldn't hold her curiosity back.

"How are you doing this? I don't get it," She blurted out, staring straight at Senzo.

Senzo just chuckled, and with a wave of his hand, a window suddenly appeared next to the three girls.

"What?!" Kaoru exclaimed.

Shiho and Aoi both just stared out the window with wide eyes; what they saw made zero sense after all.

t was the city where they'd confronted Senzo, with all the civilians leisurely walking around and cars driving through the streets.

"How is that possible?" Aoi muttered.

"Just a little reality manipulation combined with vector manipulation, but that's not why we're here, remember? Let's get down to business now," Senzo said casually, and just like that, the window disappeared once more.

"Why did you all come here? And so aggressively as well?" Senzo asked, raising an eyebrow.

The three girls glanced at one another because they didn't know if they could reveal their mission or not, but at this point, what's the difference?

"We were ordered by Minamoto to keep you away from the other members of Pandra so they could arrest them," Kaoru explained, her eyes glued to Senzo's every movement.

"Hmmm, I guess it's that time, then," Senzo mumbled, scratching his chin.

Shiho and Aoi clenched their fists under the table. Even though the situation was hopeless, they had to complete their mission, so if Senzo gave even the smallest hint of trying to interfere with the plan, they would have to stop him at all costs.

"Don't worry, I'll stay put as long as nothing serious happens," Senzo reassured them.

"You will?" Kaoru inquired, finding it hard to believe.

"They can take care of themselves. And today I'm accompanying Sophie and Yugiri."

After he said that, the three girls saw a smile form on Senzo's face. They felt more relaxed—this was good for their mission.

"So how about you three accompany us for the remainder of this trip?" Senzo suddenly proposed.

"Huh? Can we really?" Kaoru's eyes widened in shock upon hearing that proposal.

"Yeah, I don't see why not. Isn't it a win-win situation? You all can keep an eye on me, and Yugiri can make some new friends."

Then two more people entered the room through a door Senzo had formed at some point, and Yugiri and Sophie walked through it.

The three girls suddenly jumped up and got ready to fight the intruders, but when they saw a little girl holding a massive ice cream and a beautiful woman, they just stared at each other for a moment, not knowing what to do now.

"Hahaha, don't be so tense; they're just a normal woman and a little girl, after all. And they're the ones I'm accompanying today, so how about it?"

"Sure?" the three girls replied in unison, but even they were unsure what to make of the current situation.

It just all felt so foreign to them; normally they always fight against Pandra, after all, but now they were supposed to spend time relaxing and exploring the city with them.

"Uh, Kaoru, are you sure about this?" Shiho whispered in her ear as she kept her eyes glued to Senzo and the other two who had entered the room.

"I don't know, even though I would like to fight him, I don't think we can beat him, and as long as we keep him here, the others should be able to arrest Hyoubu and the others, so the prophecy will be prevented," she replied, also keeping her eyes on Senzo.

Aoi, on the other hand, was staring at the massive ice cream Yugiri was holding as drool started dripping from her lips unknowingly.

"You want some as well?" Sophie suddenly asked, pointing at Yugiri's hand.

Aoi just nodded her head automatically.

"Let's go; it's my treat. And you two?"

"No thanks," Kaoru said, shaking her head, she had to stay focused on the mission after all.

But Shiho couldn't resist the temptation and meekly nodded her head.

"Hehe, okay, follow me, I'll get you both one as well."
