In her private chambers, Navia looked quizzically at her best friend, Clorinde, who was currently eating a cream puff. The two had known each other since childhood and were incredibly close. Whenever she had free time, or couldn't return home after a mission, Clorinde would often stay the night at her best friend's house in the Beryl Region.
Tonight was one such night.
The reason Navia felt something was strange was that she noticed a subtle difference in her best friend's eyes. Having known each other for so long, they were like sisters. Naturally, she could tell at a glance if there was any change in her appearance.
The last time Navia had seen Clorinde was about four or five days ago. But in that short time, she felt as if Clorinde had changed a lot. It was in the emotion in her eyes; they seemed much softer, giving her entire face more depth and charm. This wasn't something that could be achieved with ordinary makeup, and Navia knew that Clorinde never liked to spend time on cosmetics.
So what had happened? How could Clorinde have changed so much in just a few days? Navia was incredibly curious.
But no matter how she tried to probe during their tea time, Clorinde would always shyly change the subject. If a Champion Duelist didn't want to reveal a secret, there was no way to force it out of her.
Leaning shoulder-to-shoulder with her best friend, Navia finally gave up on trying to figure it out and asked, "By the way, how much longer is your guard duty? I feel like since you were hired as a bodyguard, we haven't been able to spend much time together..."

"Father is gradually entrusting more of the business to me, and under his guidance, I'm learning how to manage things more rationally. If a situation like last time happens again, I won't be so helpless."
Clorinde nodded in agreement. She knew that Callas had built his enterprise from scratch; his skill, courage, and wisdom were not to be underestimated. She believed that Navia could indeed learn a lot from him and would eventually be able to take over the reins of the Spina di Rosula.

She had made a point of coming to spend time with Navia tonight instead of with him, and she had told him so beforehand. But why was he here too? If she hadn't heard he was here on business with Callas, she would have thought he had come looking for Navia.
"Mm, he said he had thought of something very dangerous, and his expression was so serious and sincere that Father agreed to see him," Navia said with a pout. "That guy... we haven't seen each other for weeks, and the first thing he does when he comes here is talk business instead of saying hello to his old friend...
