Chapter 19 - A Stain On The Weller Name.

— Rose's perspective.

- I am Rose Clinton Weller, a sixteen-year-old girl born into the prestigious Weller family. From the moment I drew my first breath, I became a pariah, blamed and hated by my kin for my mother's death during childbirth.

- My siblings never missed an opportunity to remind me that I had taken her from them. Even on my twelfth birthday, a day meant for joy and celebration, the cruellest blow landed: I didn't received any abilities in the gift ceremony, only to get more hatred, and the accusation that I was responsible for my mother's demise. It solidified their belief that I was a failure, a stain on the Weller name.

- Life continued in this shadowed existence until one day, the unthinkable happened. My engagement was suddenly decided, a decree from on high, and I was to be sent to the ducal household of Krueger.

- I harboured no illusions of a loving union; it was a political manoeuvre, a means to discard the family's unwanted burden.

- Upon my arrival, I was met by Duke and Duchess Krueger, a formidable pair whose expressions held a peculiar blend of scrutiny and disinterest.

- They offered a perfunctory welcome before introducing me to Leon, their son. Leon, I quickly learned, he was much like me – an outcast in his own family, ridiculed by his siblings and largely ignored by his servants. I seemed genuinely curious, not critical, which was a startling novelty.

- After some initial awkwardness, they informed me that Leon wasn't even at home at the moment. He was expected to arrive later, and I was simply left to wait for him.

- The hours stretched, filled with a quiet tension, as I pondered the strangeness of my new reality. When Leon finally appeared, there was no grand entrance, just a quiet arrival, almost as if he were trying not to draw attention to himself.

- he sat across the table with me Duke Lance and Duchess Grace. Our interactions were… complex. Every attempt I made to bridge the chasm between us, to deepen our fragile connection, seemed to be met with a peculiar push from him.

- Sometimes he would lash out, his words sharp, almost as if he were trying to drive me away. Yet, in the next breath, a flicker of remorse, a barely perceptible apology would cross his face, a silent acknowledgement that he didn't truly wish to sever the ties between us.

- I became obsessed with understanding him, with digging deeper into his true intentions. This quiet struggle continued for what felt like an eternity, until the end of the month approached, signalling my dreaded departure.

- It was time to return to the Weller estate, to the suffocating judgment and animosity I had momentarily escaped.

- As I rode in the carriage, my mind was a whirlwind of unanswered questions about Leon and our strange and nascent relationship.

- The journey was uneventful at first, but then, without warning, a sudden, violent jolt. The carriage lurched, throwing me against the plush interior, and the sounds of chaos erupted outside.

- A muffled explosion, the terrified neighing of horses, and shouts. My heart hammered against my ribs. Just as panic threatened to consume me, a shadowy figure, cloaked in a dark hood, appeared from the ensuing disarray.

- He moved with a swift, almost ethereal grace, cutting through the chaos like a phantom. Before I could fully comprehend what was happening, after he finished all of them he reached for me, his touch surprisingly gentle, and used a teleportation magic to instantly take us back to the Krueger mansion.

- The encounter left me with more questions than answers, a chilling mystery added to the already convoluted tapestry of my life.

- There I came back to the Krueger house and after some days went back with Leon to the Weller's domain, but after a month in my home he suddenly said we are going back to Vale City his hometown.

- We went back in the carriage only to get ambushed by some bandits, I was so scared and remembered the day before and saw myself holding tightly on Leon's coat.

- He then walked out the door to join the fight and after a not-so-long battle I exited the carriage and went to check on them.

- Most of the escorts were healed and some died but what terrified me was seeing Leon's hand bleeding nonstop and had been cut.

- In that moment I just thought of healing him and chanted a spell I didn't even know and his wound healed a bit, I talked to him a bit and went back to the carriage.

- I helped him seal the wound, he used something I didn't know but sealed it and went back to the Vale state.

- We arrived in front of the mansion and Leon immediately went in without any talk, there I met the Duke and the Duchess and their siblings.

– End of Rose's perspective.

- One day in the principality's meeting room.

- " Didn't you capture the saintess and bring her here? Man.

- " Sorry sir, but it seems a boy is guarding her and every time we sent men he defeats them without any attention from the people." A hooded man.

- "You are saying, you couldn't catch a single girl all this time, I will give you a second chance bring her before she enrolled in the academy." Man.

- "Yes sir, we will do anything in our power and more, Long live the Principality." Hooded man.

- And there the meeting between them ended.

- It seems there are mysteries behind that didn't exist in the game's storyline, but what comes next depends on Leon's effort.
