Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Some time passed. I stood there silently.

Yes, my father had changed... he hit me...

He threw me away like a trash bag. Wipes tears

"Fine. I've spent a lot of time alone before. This won't hurt."

"You must be Noor."

"Huh?"

A maid in a formal dress was standing behind me.

"Oh—sorry if I scared you. Sir is looking for you. Please come with me."

Noor began walking with her. The place was new to him.

"I've never seen a house this big before. It's huge… but why does my heart keep beating so fast?"

After a while, she brought him into a room. Inside, a middle-aged man—who looked foreign—was smoking a cigarette.

"Ah, you must be Noor. Nice name. Ah—I shouldn't be smoking in front of a child. Sorry, haha."

Noor stayed silent. The pressure was too much, and it showed clearly on his face.

"Oh, no need to be so formal around me. As you can see, you'll be living with us now."

But Noor couldn't bear the stress and collapsed.

When he opened his eyes, he saw many maids standing beside his bed. He was shocked.

"Wait—don't be scared. You're alright. The doctor said it was due to stress. That's why you collapsed."

"Wait, aren't you the maid from before?"

"Yes, I am."

"Oh… I see. I collapsed. Sigh"

"What a weakling."

Suddenly, his gaze shifted to the corner of the room.

In my small life, I've seen many beautiful people—on TV, the internet—celebrities, models, whatever. But this girl...

A girl with very long dark hair and crimson-red eyes stood there. She wore a long dress that made her look like a princess from a movie.

I've never seen someone so beautiful… yet terrifying. And I'm already scared of girls... Noor thought as she looked at him.

"Pathetic," she said.

Noor's heart started racing even faster. He collapsed again.

Birds chirping…

"Ah, did I collapse again? Whoa, no one's here this time. What was that? I really don't want to know."

Dad… I really hate him now. He threw me in a strange place like this.

"Oh, you're awake again!"

"Wahhhh!" Noor yelled.

"Relax! It's me, Rosy."

"Oh—I'm really sorry."

(Looks like I don't have a choice. If I cause any trouble, my dad will just beat my butt. But first, I need to make an excuse for collapsing. I can't let them know the truth.)

"Miss Rosy…"

"Hm?"

"As you can see, I have a very weak nervous system. The weather was really hot today, and I couldn't handle the stress…"

"Ohh, poor boy. Don't worry about it. And also, don't mind what Miss Jenny said."

"Miss Jenny?"

"Yes, she's the master's only daughter."

"Oh, I see…" (Oh no! Not good. She's not just a guest—she lives here. That means I'll have to face her more often. God, I want to jump out the window. But I have no choice. I'm just a 14-year-old kid. What can I even do? Guess I'll have to avoid her.)

"What are you thinking about?"

"Ah, nothing. These clothes stink. I need to change."

He took out his clothes from his bag.

"Miss Rosy, can you leave? I'm going to change."

"Oh, you're just a kid. You can change—"

"Please leave."

"Okay, bye!" Runs off

"What the hell… people can be weird sometimes." Locks the door

The room's pretty big. I don't know how I'm supposed to sleep in here…

Knock knock

"Sir Noor, if you're ready, Master wants to meet you. Please come downstairs."

"Oh, right. I collapsed in front of him. That was rude… I guess I need to apologize."

After changing, Noor went downstairs.

"Noor! You're finally awake."

"Yes sir. Also, I'm really sorry fo—"

"No need to apologize. It's not your fault. Rosy told me everything."

"Let me introduce myself. I'm Kevin, from England. I came here for business ten years ago and decided to stay. Your father, Arman, told me about your struggles—your grades, changing schools every year... which is kind of my fault, haha. Your dad is one of my most valuable employees, and I send him on all my major projects. I want to make up for that."

"Huh?"

"You'll be living with us now. I've already talked to the school director. You'll start school tomorrow. And don't worry—my daughter Jenny also attends the same school."

(Seriously, God—why? Why do I have to go to the same school as her? She's terrifying.)

"Well then, you can go now. If you need anything, ask Rosy."

Noor began walking back to his room.

Now I understand—this guy is the reason I had to change schools every year. But why did my dad want to leave me here? I don't know. I could've stayed at that old school instead of being dumped here like some burden. I really feel pathetic.

As he was about to enter the room, he saw Jenny standing in the hallway. It was dark, but her eyes were glowing.

She glanced at him. Noor panicked, ran inside, and locked the door.

Looks like I've gotten myself into a new problem. Is she trying to scare me? Well, guess what—I'm already scared.

School starts tomorrow. I can't believe this. I already miss my home… my mom… and my dad—back when he was still kind.

But when I thought I'd lost all my happiness... they came into my life.
