Chapter 26 - CHAPTER 26:BEING TREATED LIKE CRIMINAL'S PART 2

Back in the holding cell, the door slammed shut behind them, leaving Buveur, Olissa, and Breaton alone in the cold, unforgiving space. Buveur's eyes met Olissa's, and he could see the fear and uncertainty reflected back at him.

"What do you think they're going to do with us?" Breaton whispered, his voice barely audible.

Buveur's gaze locked onto the door. "We'll find out soon enough."

Just then, an automatic voice sounded, "Scanning detainees." A red light flashed through three times before the automatic voice spoke again, "Scanning complete."

"What the hell was that just now?" Buveur asked, scanning his surroundings.

"I don't know, and I don't care. We need to get out of here and rescue Merry," Breaton said as he started punching the wall.

"Let me give you a hand with that," Buveur said, walking over to Breaton and starting to punch the wall as well.

"Even now, he's still thinking about saving her. "Breaton! I wonder, if I told you that I am carrying your child. Would you try to stay and protect us? Are would you still try to save her?" Olissa thought to herself, her heart racing. "Damn, why do I feel this way? I got what I wanted from him. So why do I feel this way? Was my mother right... did I truly fall in love with him? No, it can't be."

Just then, the door opened and a guard walked in, pushing a cart with different dishes of food.

The guard pushed the cart into the cell, the aroma of food wafting through the air.

"Meal time," he said gruffly, distributing the trays. Buveur and Breaton stopped punching the wall, their eyes fixed on the food. Olissa's gaze drifted to the cart, her stomach growling with hunger.

As they ate, Olissa couldn't help but steal glances at Breaton. She felt a flutter in her chest, a sense of unease. What was happening to her? She had gotten what she wanted from him, his seed, but now she couldn't shake off the feeling that she was falling for him.

Buveur watched them, his eyes narrowed. "We need to come up with a plan to escape," he said, his voice low and urgent.

Breaton nodded, his mouth full. Olissa's eyes met Buveur's, a spark of determination igniting within her. She knew she had to protect herself and her unborn child, but a part of her wondered if Breaton would still try to save Merry if he knew she was pregnant to..

Shortly after finishing eating, the door opened again, and Gus, Arcadian, and Jennifer entered. The three newcomers stood in the doorway, their eyes scanning the room. Buveur, Olissa, and Breaton exchanged wary glances, unsure what to expect.

"Who are you?" Buveur asked, his voice firm.

Gus stepped forward. "We're here to... discuss your situation," he said, his tone measured.

"Now, tell us, how do you know Fi-Six, the demon king? Are you guys friends?" Gus asked sternly.

Breaton's eyes turned bloodshot at hearing Fi-Six's name. "He is no friend of mine, but he is holding one of my dearest friends against her will. I don't have time for your questions; I need to rescue Merry," he said with an angry expression.

"You say he's holding her, so you know she's a hostage. Be honest, who is she to you, and why is she so important?" Gus asked with a sneer.

"She's carrying my child." Breaton said with a sad expression.

The room fell silent, the only sound the heavy breathing of the captives. Gus's sneer faltered, replaced by a look of surprise. Arcadian's crimson eyes narrowed, interest sparking in their depths. Jennifer's calculating gaze flicked between Breaton and Olissa, her expression unreadable.

"Ah, a personal stake in the matter," Gus said, his voice dripping with intrigue. "This changes things. Fi-Six won't give her up easily, not if she's carrying the heir to...whatever it is you are."

Breaton's eyes flashed with anger, but his voice remained steady. "I'll do whatever it takes to get Merry back. She's carrying my child and I will what it takes to get her back safe ."

Olissa's gaze softened, her expression sympathetic. Buveur's eyes narrowed, his face a mask of concern. The dynamics of the room shifted, the air thick with tension and unspoken questions.

Jennifer's eyes wandered over Olissa, looking her up and down. "You look so much like my sister. What is your name?" Jennifer asked.

Olissa took a couple of steps back in fear. "M-my name is Olissa Eills," she stammered.

This is bad, I recall my mother having a sister, but I've never met her. If this woman really is my mother's sister, then this is bad. My mother told me her sister hates her. Olissa thought to herself.

Jennifer studied Olissa's face with a somber expression. "Hmmm, this can't be a coincidence, that last name Eills. I only know one man with that name; Lysander's last name was Eills, and he was Alexandria's right-hand man." Jennifer thought to herself.

"Hey, system, scan my DNA, then do the same to this young lady," Jennifer shouted, pointing a finger at Olissa.

"Am I, Jennifer, what are you doing?" Gus asked, confused.

"I'm trying to confirm something," Jennifer replied.

The automatic voice spoke, "Scanning targets."

A red glow washed over Jennifer and then over Olissa.

The automatic voice spoke again, "Scanning complete. Results of DNA scan: 25% match from both targets. Estimated relation: close kin, estimated aunt and niece. No further information gathered

Jennifer's expression turned cold, her eyes narrowing as she gazed at Olissa. "It seems we have a family connection, niece," she said, her voice dripping with calculated interest.

Olissa's eyes widened in fear, her mind racing with the implications. "W-what do you want from me?" she stammered.

Gus raised an eyebrow, intrigued by the sudden turn of events. "This changes things, doesn't it?" he said, his tone measured.

Arcadian leaned forward, his crimson eyes fixed on Olissa with newfound interest. "Indeed, it does. Family dynamics can be... complicated."

Breaton, still reeling from his own revelation, watched the exchange with a mixture of curiosity and wariness. "What's going on here?" he asked, his voice firm.

Jennifer's gaze never left Olissa's face. "It seems, niece, that we have a lot to discuss. And perhaps, a lot to gain from each other."

Olissa began to panic and took a few steps back in fear, subconsciously wrapping her arms around her stomach in a protective embrace.

Unexpectedly, Jennifer rushed forward and wrapped Olissa in a warm hug. "Dear child, it's okay. You have nothing to fear from me. You're safe now. I'm sorry if we scared you," Jennifer said.
