Chapter 39 - Chestnut Street

On Saturday afternoon, Ross maneuvered the Harley into the driveway of the two-story brick house and cut the engine. His gaze swept over the landscaped lawn. Bright-colored flowers surrounded the wide front porch. A swing invited visitors to lounge on its comfortable-looking pillows.

He frowned, distinctly aware that his vision of Susan's home had a lot to do with an expensively decorated condo that housed glass and chrome. It certainly didn't include the cozy, welcoming sight of this house.

He'd finagled the address from Marcy, promising that his uncle would never know where Ross got the information.

He dug the paper out of his jeans' pocket and squinted at his scribbled writing. 508 W. Chestnut. Mirror Falls was a small town and only had one Chestnut Street. And this was it.

Despite his desire to end this marriage, he hadn't come yesterday like he had planned. Instead, he'd wandered around Mirror Falls, thinking about Susan and George and then Susan some more.
