Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Stacy's POV

I stood there puzzled, but there was no single explanation I could actually give myself. I had never seen him act like that before. Not wanting to make him angrier, I decided to leave the place to ensure that we both remained the same.

a week had passed, and I still hadn't heard anything from him. I was expecting an apology or maybe an invitation letter, but nothing came, causing my worry to grow more.

"What if he doesn't want me anymore, what if..." I trailed, trying to put my mind on the only positive thing I could think of which was the wedding.

"Maybe he's waiting for me to make the first move, maybe he'll--"

All of a sudden, I heard a voice from within, my wolf was at it again. "I don't know what you see in him or how you see him, but I'm not so sure he sees you the right way."

As she spoke, I rolled my eyes. She had said this a million times, but I wasn't going to let her ruin my mood today. I had something to fix.

I quickly got ready, got myself all done and beautiful before heading out of the house. My first stop was at the shopping mall because I needed to get him a few things to at least show him how much I love him.

"Is this all you'll like to get ma'am?" The lady at the desk asked, and I nodded.

"Yes..."

My answer was enough to help me get him to calculate all I had gotten.

"Cash or--" before she could finish, I pulled out the card. I was in a hurry to get out of here because I wanted to see Kai.

It didn't take long before I left the place, and I felt happy. For some reason I felt the moment he would set his eyes on the gift, he would appreciate the effort I made, and open up to me about everything.

I finally arrived at the Denvort's mansion, my eyes looking around to take in the structure before I was helped by the butler who sighted me at the entrance.

"Good day miss, welcome..." He greeted me and I passed him a warm smile.

"Is the alpha home, I came to see him," I expressed, walking while the butler followed me directly.

"Yes he is, come in," he explained, and then added. "He's at his study..." The butler showed me into the house, and directed me towards where Kai was.

I didn't mind, I followed his direction, but as I got to the entrance of Kia's study, I became frozen in place. I heard two voices in a heated argument, and my brows carved into a knot, wave patterns on my forehead.

"What the hell is going on in there?" I questioned myself even when I knew the truth.

"Two brothers in a heated argument?" I asked inwardly, not wanting to intervene, but then I still wanted to see Kai, and standing here wasn't going to help in any way.

I knocked, and without waiting for a response, I pushed open the door, only to receive glares from both Liam, and Kai.

I stood there frozen for a moment before Liam turned towards Kai, and glared at him before using the door.

As soon as he did, I tried to cheer up the mood in the room. I smiled at Kai who seemed to be glaring at me.

"Get out..." His words reached my ears, causing me to be a bit confused.

"What did you say?" I asked, but he frowned his face with anger in his eyes.

"You heard me, I said get out!" This time, the harshness in his tone increased, and the way he stared at me showed me he had a lot more to offer.

"But I brought something for you," I continued, increasing my steps towards where he stood. I still refused to believe he was actually sending me away even when it played clearly in my eyes.

"I know you'll love them, maybe you should check them--"

I heard a loud sound, and the next thing I knew, the items on my hands were now on the floor.

"I said leave me alone!"

My heart immediately felt like it was being shattered into pieces by a fork, and tears beamed in my eyes. This wasn't the man I knew, this wasn't the Kai I fell in love with. Something must have happened to him to make him be this way, but what?

"I said leave, are you dead or something?!" He roared, this time, causing me to almost lose it. So many things went through my mind and even when I wanted to say them, I kept shut because I wanted things to work out so we could get married.

Without much delay, I turned my back towards him, using the door as my means of exit.

As I walked through the hallway, I couldn't help but think about all I heard. The argument between the brothers, including Kia's attitude afterwards.

"Why were they arguing so much? I thought the brothers had always been on good terms, but it didn't seem to be so anymore.

I became so tense when I thought about it, pausing in my steps. I had a feeling there was going to be a problem with leadership, and it was going to affect them so much.

The worst part about It was the fact that I couldn't help at all in the situation.

As I remained in thought, my head suddenly turned towards the end of the hallway. I was so scared, chills growing in my spine as goosebumps formed on my body.

I squinted my eyes and tried to make sense of whatever was going on, but then I couldn't.

I knew I definitely felt a presence watching me, but the more I tried to make sense of it, the more scared I became.

"Who's there?" I asked, my eyes looking straight at the empty hallway, hoping for a response but there was none.
