Chapter 25 - Chapter 25! Temporary separation

However, before their existing troubles could be resolved, a new one emerged.

Jill and Ada had a disagreement.

To be precise, it was a disagreement over their route.

After resting for a while at the private clinic, Jill suggested they look for her only S.T.A.R.S. comrade in Raccoon City, Brad.

But Ada stated that she absolutely had to go to the Raccoon City Police Department.

Thus, the two, having diverged, both looked at Shen Ye, hoping he would make a decision.

"This…" Shen Ye scratched his head, looking troubled.

Facing the gazes of the two women, he actually felt an indescribable headache; he would rather face the Tracker alone now than make a choice that would undoubtedly offend one of the women.

Frowning in thought for a moment, Shen Ye ultimately chose to help Jill find Brad first. He planned to send Jill and Brad out of Raccoon City, then find a way to return and help Ada.

"Ada, I'm sorry, I have to help…" Shen Ye began, looking conflicted.

Ada was not surprised by Shen Ye's decision. Clearly, she knew that Shen Ye had a closer relationship with Jill, so when Shen Ye's words were only half-spoken, she interrupted, "I understand, no need to explain."

Then she continued, "I wish you both a safe journey."

With that, Ada turned and walked towards the clinic door without looking back.

"Wait a moment." At this point, Jill called out to Ada.

Ada stopped, still not turning around, and said, "Is there something else?"

"Why don't we go together? Brad said he saw a rescue helicopter, we can totally take the rescue helicopter to leave here," Jill said.

Ada turned back, looked at Shen Ye with a complex expression, and shook her head, saying, "I'm very sorry, I still have something to do. I need to find someone, that's my boyfriend."

Jill was stunned for a moment, then looked at Shen Ye, signaling him with her eyes to persuade the woman who had helped her to stay.

Shen Ye thought for a moment, walked in front of Ada, but he did not try to persuade her to stay. Instead, he handed her some ammunition, and at the same time whispered:

"Don't worry, Ada, I'll come find you after I send them off."

These words made Ada's heart tremble. She nodded imperceptibly and said, "Pay attention to your earpiece."

After that, she left the clinic.

Ada's figure quickly disappeared from their sight.

Jill retracted her gaze and said to Shen Ye in dissatisfaction, "You should have tried harder to make her stay just now. It's too dangerous for her to be alone."

"Don't worry, she's not an ordinary woman, she'll take care of herself." Shen Ye said, while taking off his gun bag and pulling out a long gun and some ammunition to hand to Jill.

"We should go find Brad now," he added.

Jill could only nod, pick up the gun, and leave with Shen Ye.

Since Jill and Brad had previously talked on the phone and informed each other of their locations, and Jill was very familiar with Raccoon City, finding him was not difficult. It didn't take long for them to meet Brad at the designated location.

It was in front of a bar.

Seeing Jill and Shen Ye appear together, Brad's haggard face managed a faint smile: "This is great, you're both alright."

When he had spoken to Jill earlier, he heard the commotion on her end and had been worried about her safety. Now, seeing Jill appear before him unharmed, he could finally breathe a sigh of relief.

"Looks like you haven't been doing so well these past few days, Brad, your face has gotten so thin!" Shen Ye stepped forward and patted his shoulder. Although their relationship was not as good as his with Chris, he was still an acquaintance, so he made a joke.

Brad gave a bitter smile: "I haven't had a good rest these past two days at all; that monster in the black trench coat has been chasing me."

Although he was usually timid, being a member of the S.T.A.R.S. team meant he had decent strength, and he managed to survive being hunted by the Tracker for two days and two nights.

Perhaps it was because it couldn't deal with him that the Tracker switched its target to Jill.

"Do you know why that monster is hunting us?" Hearing Brad mention the Tracker, Jill frowned and asked.

"I'm not too sure either." Brad shook his head.

At this moment, Shen Ye suddenly said, "Guys, although I know you have many questions, this is not the place to chat."

He pointed to the zombies separated by obstacles around them, glaring at them menacingly.

Jill nodded: "Shen, you're right, we should go somewhere else. How about we have a drink first?"

She looked at the bar behind Brad, then pushed the door open and went inside.

There were a few other survivors inside the bar. When they saw them enter, they were startled at first, but after realizing they were humans, they relaxed and put away their weapons.

Bypassing these survivors, the three came to the bar counter. Jill casually grabbed a bottle of whiskey and three glasses, poured the drinks, and placed them in front of them.

Shen Ye picked up the glass in front of him and sniffed it, but he didn't drink. He simply couldn't accept the foreign liquor with its peculiar aroma and taste.

Jill, however, was much more aggressive. She directly drank the entire glass of liquor, and immediately, her face flushed red from the alcohol.

But her alcohol tolerance was clearly quite good, as she poured herself another glass. This time, she didn't down it all at once but took a small sip.

Although Shen Ye really wanted to tell her that drinking in this situation might cause problems, he also knew that Jill hadn't had a good time these past few days, and moderate drinking could help her relieve stress.

Indeed, Jill's perpetually furrowed brow relaxed considerably. Her eyes, somewhat hazy, looked at Shen Ye, her mind wandering.

At this moment, Brad, who had also finished his drink, began to tell Jill some of his knowledge about the Tracker, especially how every time he encountered it, he could hear the monster, with its lipless mouth, shouting "S.T.A.R.S." He speculated that this monster was specifically targeting him and Jill.

"Damn it, I shouldn't have joined S.T.A.R.S." Brad cursed again after finishing his statement.

Jill did not immediately reply to her old friend's complaint. After finishing the remaining whiskey in her glass, she said, "It's too late for anything now, Brad, we can only face it."

She then looked at Shen Ye and said, "Shen, you heard what Brad said. You must leave us."

"Are you worried about implicating me?" Shen Ye asked.

Jill nodded: "I don't want you to encounter danger because of me."

"If I were afraid of danger, I wouldn't have come looking for you, Jill." Shen Ye shook his head, and at the same time, poured the wine from his glass onto the ground. He ultimately did not drink it.

Shen Ye's words deeply moved Jill. Her eyes became even more hazy, and an urge to get close to him welled up inside her, but after glancing at Brad next to her, she regretfully shook her head.
