Chapter 23 - Chapter 23! What a beautiful thought

Wolf Mom looked at the blocked intersection, her brows tightly furrowed. After cursing the company's higher-ups in her heart, she clenched her fist and waved it backward: "Get out of here."

Seeing the Wolf Pack Squad retreat, the Six-Section Echo Squad also began to fall back. The soldier of Native American descent even waved at Shen Ye and Ada, signaling them to quickly follow, but the two ignored them.

"It looks like a formidable big guy has arrived," Ada leaned next to Shen Ye, but her sudden voice startled the deep-thinking Shen Ye.

Shen Ye glared at Ada in annoyance and said, "That's what I'm worried about. It's already chaotic enough here, but this is also an opportunity. We can take advantage of the chaos to leave here later."

Ada nodded, as she had the same thought. Immediately, she and Shen Ye quietly retreated to an unoccupied corner.

Just as everyone began to retreat, the road barrier was finally crashed open. Amidst the flying debris, a tall figure appeared before everyone's eyes.

It was a humanoid creature nearly three meters tall. Its massive size brought an indescribable sense of oppression. Its thick, sturdy military overcoat couldn't conceal the powerful muscles within. Although it had a comical bald head, its cold face and eyes that disregarded all life were enough to convince anyone that it was a killing machine.

It was Umbrella's new product, the Tyrant T103.

This was a mass-produced BOW truly put into actual combat. Unlike the experimental Tyrant in the mansion, it had extremely high combat power and an intelligence level equivalent to a normal human, making it almost flawless.

Its appearance immediately heightened the tension in the atmosphere, and even the Wolf Pack Squad, who belonged to the Umbrella Corporation, showed expressions of apprehension.

"Damn it, why didn't anyone inform us that the company deployed it?"

Among the Wolf Pack Squad, Bertha cursed angrily. She looked at her captain, Wolf Mom, and asked, "Should we retreat?"

Wolf Mom thought for a moment. Just as she was about to give the order to retreat, a message from the company flashed on the computer on her wrist. She opened it, and her face instantly turned cold.

After a few sneers, Wolf Mom said, "No need, we continue to attack."

"Are you kidding me? I'm sure if this guy gets angry, he'll treat even us as enemies. Don't forget the T078s on the island used to train new recruits; it has no humanity," said Vladimir, codenamed Ghost. He didn't want to provoke that guy.

"Of course I know," Wolf Mom's eyes showed a hint of coldness. "But this is what the company demands. They want the combat data of the T103 Tyrant."

"So, they can disregard our safety?" Viktor, the Ninja, couldn't help but speak.

"We are just company property." Facing Viktor's question, Wolf Mom lowered her eyes as she answered, seemingly not wanting her somewhat out-of-control expression to be exposed to her team members. "We have no choice, unless..."

At this point, she lowered her head and sneered.

...

On the Six-Section Echo Squad's side, after seeing the Tyrant appear, they immediately contacted their superiors via radio.

But the answer they received was to collect data on the Tyrant, and if possible, subdue and capture it.

"It seems our BOSS has a lot of faith in our abilities!" Chris Pe gave a wry smile.

"Those old men only know how to talk. They should really come and see what we're actually facing," scoffed Marisa Rosen, who had fluffy red hair. As an explosives expert, her personality was completely consistent with her profession; she was a straightforward woman.

"Anyway, this is an order from above, and we must carry it out," Chris Pe glanced at his teammates and then said, "Of course, if we get into danger, I'll consider suspending the capture mission first, after all..."

Chris paused, then continued in a firm tone, "I need to ensure your safety."

...

The communication between the two teams occurred almost simultaneously. What seemed like a lengthy conversation actually took only a very short time.

Then, the battle continued.

It proved that Vladimir's words were correct, or perhaps, his words were overly conservative.

Even without being enraged, the Tyrant viewed them as enemies. The moment gunfire resumed, it attacked them, lifting a car and smashing it towards them.

Fortunately, the T103 could receive commands. After throwing the car, it turned to attack the Six-Section Echo Squad.

Seeing the Tyrant heading towards their side, the Six-Section Echo Squad no longer bothered to conserve ammunition, unleashing all sorts of attack methods.

The result was that the already damaged street became even more devastated; streetlights, billboards, and even roadside trash cans were not spared.

Shen Ye and Ada had already moved away from the battlefield. Although zombies still attacked them, compared to what the Six-Section Echo Squad was dealing with, their side was practically "heaven."

Ada shot down several approaching zombies, while craning her neck to look towards the Six-Section Echo Squad. Her object of observation was the T103; similarly, she was very interested in the Tyrant.

Unfortunately, she didn't have any video recording tools on hand, otherwise, she wouldn't want to miss such important data.

"Ada, what are you looking at?" Shen Ye naturally noticed Ada's actions. Although he knew what Ada was thinking, he still asked.

"Uh, nothing."

Shen Ye's words startled the focused Ada. For some reason, she didn't want Shen Ye to know her true intentions for being there, so she said, "I'm thinking about whether to help them."

"Let them worry about it. We're just civilians," Shen Ye said.

Then he added, "They are regular army."

"Then... alright." Ada nodded, but sighed slightly in her heart.

As if remembering something else, she suddenly said, "Your luck is indeed good."

"What?" Shen Ye was startled, not understanding the meaning of Ada's words.

"What you just said, that we can leave here alive," Ada pointed to the road barrier broken by the Tyrant, where there were almost no zombies.

"Of course," Shen Ye puffed out his chest. "Someone... uh, not necessarily a person, but anyway, someone said that I am the lucky goddess's favorite, and she is always watching over me."

"So?" Ada changed her magazine and asked.

"So every day is my lucky day," Shen Ye said very seriously. "Not just today or tomorrow."

"Sounds good," Ada showed an exaggerated expression. "In that case, it seems I can't leave you, Mr. Lucky."

"If you really think so, I don't mind," Shen Ye chuckled.

"Dream on," Ada glanced at him with a half-smile.
