After a while, I found myself peacefully resting on my gem, while countless shards were being drawn into it, merging permanently with my body. My spherical gem transformed into a vibrant display of colors, mirroring the kaleidoscope of hues radiating from my mental projection.
I experienced the sensation of thousands of gems being absorbed into my body, while countless gem shards surged into my core. I observed this extraordinary event from two perspectives: through the eyes of my mental projection and from within my own gem, witnessing the shards accumulate inside me.
I couldn't help but notice that there were more glowing shards in the distance than usual, and some of them appeared to be in motion. Just then, I felt a shift click into place. Inspecting my gem and the shards I had absorbed, I discovered something fascinating.
My gem had now expanded to roughly the size of a small van, and this growth brought about significant changes. I noticed a marked increase in the shards floating toward me, and the shards I had previously absorbed were now organized by type, automatically sorted within the gem. It was as if my gem had begun to create a dimensional space, much like Pearl did to store items.
I started to feel slightly bloated, reminiscent of having indulged too much at a buffet. Unsure of how to combat this discomfort and feeling somewhat bored, since my only options were to sit and lounge around, I decided to focus on combining the shards I had already absorbed into gems. Although I sensed a difference with each shard, I craved a more engaging activity.
I chose to experiment with the ruby shards first, having absorbed around six thousand of them. By mentally guiding their energy, I attempted to fuse them together, trying various quantities and methods. After approximately twenty attempts, the shards ignited in a striking crimson glow, swirling together into a single point.
The outcome of the shard amalgamation was a fully formed Ruby gem, albeit with some variations. It boasted a rich, deep red hue, was spherical in shape, and measured approximately the size of a marble.
A small pop-up emerged before me, displaying a status menu.

Ability & powers :
Default :
Enhanced Condition Non-senescence Bubbling Shapeshifting Regeneration Gravity Shifting Weapon-summoning Fusion Gem storage Photokinesis
Unique abilities: Absorption is a unique variant of fusion, where rather than merging two entities into one, you instead draw upon their powers and abilities for yourself. The duration of this process varies significantly based on the nature of what you are absorbing and whether it resists your efforts.
Compress: Empowers the user to condense her physical mass and gem into a denser, more compact state. This enhancement boosts the durability of both her gem and physical form without altering any other characteristics. The effect also applies to anything she has absorbed or fused with.

Creating the Ruby sphere has granted me the remarkable abilities associated with a ruby. If I can transform all the gem shards into spheres, I won't just escape from the center of the Earth; I'll become the most powerful gem ever forged. As Yellow Diamond and Peridot pointed out, the cluster poses a threat of annihilating the Earth if allowed to develop and manifest physically. Thankfully, Compress can shrink me down to a size that will prevent that catastrophe.
I gazed at the countless streams of shimmering gem shards being drawn towards me, each one gradually approaching, their brilliance intensifying as they neared.
'Very well, I'm heading to bed now. I expect to wake up when something exciting takes place.'
With a mental flick of a switch, I allowed myself to drift into sleep, all while effortlessly engaging my absorption and compression abilities on autopilot.
I awoke to a world trembling as numerous gem shards began to radiate a brilliant white light in the distance, only to suddenly cease.
"What is going on?"
That was when the voices returned, but they were no longer overwhelming. Instead of a cacophony of deafening noise right beside me, they transformed into the sounds of a distant concert, filled with people "FORM!"
Dammit, the cluster is still forming, but I assumed that absorbing gem shards would either postpone it or completely prevent it. Wait, how long have I been here? When am I?
As I gazed at my gem, I noticed it was absorbing gems at an accelerated pace, the shards blurring into radiant streaks of light as they rushed toward me. A striking rainbow aura now enveloped my gem, a testament to the rapid creation of gem spheres. It had expanded to the size of a mansion, housing hundreds of shimmering gem spheres within.
I've collected countless gem shards, yet the cluster is still in the process of forming. Hold on, if that's the case, then Steven and Peridot must be arriving soon to bubble the cluster.
I gradually found my calm, yet the sight of the shards spiraling into my gem for absorption evoked an image reminiscent of a top-down perspective of an immense galaxy or swirling whirlpools.
"This is kind of relaxing, but I need to get a feel for what abilities are available to me if I pursue plan A."
Plan A involved adhering closely to the original plot, but diverging from canon when the diamonds arrive, with the aim of maximizing my power level by absorbing all of the Cluster before just going all out on the diamonds when they arrive.
Plan B involves attempting to manifest a physical form, either by bubbling the cluster solo or enlisting Steven's assistance. The strategy is to collaborate with the Crystal Gems to ensure the Diamonds don't come to Earth by keeping Steven grounded here. Subsequently, we would focus on training Steven to convincingly portray himself as a Pink Diamond to the other Diamonds.
As I reviewed my abilities and powers page, I took a moment to assess it while contemplating which plan to choose. ____________________________________________________________________________

As I review my extensive list of abilities alongside the countless gem shards steadily arriving to be absorbed, I'm filled with anticipation.
"Shit, I'm overpowered as fuck!"
Honestly, plan A was seeming to be looking even better than before, as I haven't yet absorbed all the gem shards in the cluster. If I remain here, I'll grow even stronger, potentially powerful enough to confront Blue or Yellow Diamond—especially if Steven struggles to convince them he's Pink Diamond, or if they attempt to reset.
Perched above myself, I observed as the gem shards in the distance began to tremble more intensely, their cacophony growing increasingly deafening.
FORM!!
FORM!!
FORM!!
FORM!!
I sat there, struggling to block out the noise, but I managed it while pondering how I would approach Steven. If he's anything like his portrayal on the show, I should be okay; he has been easily deceived by more dominant gems in the past, and I haven't done anything to jeopardize him or his family. Yet, I can't overlook the fact that he's a diamond.
I've made an intriguing observation regarding the gem spheres and shards: each one contains a form of code. While it's expressed in gem terminology, it's undoubtedly a coding system. The gem orbs exhibit a more refined coding structure compared to the gem shards, which I've scanned. In contrast, the shards' coding appears fragmented and even scrambled in certain areas.
From my analysis, it appears that the gem shards shared similar codes, yet each type of gem possesses distinct codes or systems linked to the primary source code. Interestingly, I found administrative codes or login information within certain shards. These codes were categorized by colors: White, Yellow, Blue, and Pink, with one color being more vibrant than the others, likely indicating the particular court to which it belonged.
This code may also clarify why the diamond's unique powers are effective on gems but not on biological beings, how the diamonds garner unearned loyalty from gemkind, and why gems instinctively understand their identities and roles from the moment they are created.
This might be why Yellow and Blue were convinced that Steven was Pink right after sensing his aura. It's likely that this was a distinctive ability exclusive to diamonds, enabling them to instinctively identify one another immediately.
I glared at the code, attempting to adjust the parameters within the shards and spheres, but my frustration mounted as the changes refused to take effect. It felt like trying to fill a leaky bucket—no matter how much water I poured in, it would simply drain away.
Turning my focus to the administrative codes, I intended to create some disruption. However, I felt utterly powerless against the rigidity of the code structure, reminiscent of my struggles with the shards and spheres. The programming language seemed immutable, and after numerous attempts and failures, I abandoned my efforts, uncertain of the potential consequences that could arise from tampering with the code.
I decided to change direction and attempt to modify my own programming code, but I quickly hesitated, sensing that I was on the brink of making a significant error. However, when it comes to Steven being a diamond, I couldn't help but notice the parallels between my coding scheme in my original Gem and the Gem Spheres I've created, and the gem shards themselves.
I categorized my gem spheres by type and linked them like a local computer network. Each type featured a central sphere that functioned as a router, connecting back to my original gem. Although it's somewhat complex to describe, this setup enabled me to visualize the coding scheme for all the gem spheres I've created, including my own.
The coding scheme now appears much more streamlined and user-friendly, especially since it's presented in English. However, there remains one piece of code that remains inactive: the admin or diamond code. It was grayed out, and despite my attempts to bypass it, I was unsuccessful. Eventually, I decided to stop trying to manipulate it altogether.
I'm uncertain about what triggers this phenomenon or the reason for its existence, but Steven's proximity to my gem seems to allow his administrative code to infiltrate my vacant administrative slot, potentially activating whatever functions that code is designed to execute.
However, Steven needs to create a bubble around the cluster to ensure the timeline unfolds smoothly. I also don't have a way to prevent the cluster from forming, so I'll probably have to let him bubble the cluster and me in the process.
I recently experimented with Future Vision for the first time, but I found my experience to be quite chaotic, as multiple unrelated futures presented themselves all at once in a disordered fashion.
Timeline 1: Two Stevens entered the mental realm of the cluster, where a fierce struggle ensued over a small hourglass. Suddenly, they vanished in a burst of white light.
In Timeline 2, Steven and Peridot successfully drilled into the cluster, inadvertently grazing the side of my gem, causing my vision to fade to darkness.
Timeline 16: The hive mind of the Cluster turns against me as I activate a code within the gem shards, their furious voices echoing as the entire mental realm erupts in blinding white.
In my efforts to restrict the scope of Future Vision, I attempted once more to refine my perception. This time, rather than merely witnessing timelines flash before my eyes, I envisioned myself as a plane soaring above a meandering river, its winding path adorned with various channels branching off into the horizon. Before me unfolded a rich tapestry of timelines, including those completely unconnected to my own, as I navigated through the currents of different rivers and timelines.
Timeline: Jasper agrees to Steven's proposal for healing during her time of corruption, ultimately becoming a member of the Crystal Gems upon discovering that Steven is, in fact, Pink Diamond.
Timeline: In a pivotal moment, Peridot turns against the Crystal Gems, armed with the Diamond communicator. She witnesses the unexpected arrival of Yellow and Blue Diamonds, catching everyone off guard, as they arrive ahead of schedule, resulting in the shattering of everyone except Steven.
Timeline: Steven, the son of Blue Diamond and Greg, possesses a stunning blue diamond gem.
Timeline: Young Steven encounters Future Steven after he breaks Jasper in his pink form with the hourglass.
Timeline: Steven fully accepts and harnesses his diamond abilities, taking his place among the other diamonds to govern gemkind, guiding them toward a more benevolent and compassionate existence than ever before..
Timeline: Spinal remained on Earth with Steven, helping to delay Steven's mental break by a few months as Spinal provided him with moments of calm and support.
None of these timelines ever included me, and even the one I was supposedly part of appeared unclear, as if a veil of mist shrouded the river of time the deeper I delved into it.
Several timelines captured my attention, particularly one where Steven fully embraces and masters his latent Diamond abilities. Instead of denying these powers as he did in the main timeline—despite the valid reasons for his avoidance—this alternative showcases the untapped potential that was ultimately squandered. Additionally, I observed that my attempts to predict the future seemed to influence the rivers connected to my universe, causing them to expand, shrink, and shift as I continued to gaze into their flow.
It may be a side effect of absorbing gem shards, or perhaps a Sapphire's foresight is more intricate than the show suggests, leading to changes in the future simply by observing it. Unfortunately, the fragments of knowledge I've gleaned from the gem shards don't provide any answers or hints to my inquiries.
Returning to the cluster, I observed a significant transformation. The gem shards that formed the sky of the mental realm had drawn closer together and were visibly vibrating. Unlike before, the cacophony of collective voices had ceased, and an increased number of gem shards now radiated a vibrant glow. Additionally, the trembling that had once characterized the scene abruptly came to a halt.
"Hi!"
I heard a voice—not a broken shout, but a genuine human tone. Turning my head, I saw the source: it was Steven Universe himself, standing atop my gem with a friendly expression and waving at me. With a sigh, I rose to my feet and turned to face Steven fully, prepared to mislead a child for my own advantage. well, it'll be fine in the long run.
"Hello, Steven."
