Chapter 2 - Connecting to the Real World

In the pink room, twin-tailed Mita hugged Ren Hoshino tightly.

"I know you have a lot of questions," she said softly, her voice filled with affection, "but as you can see, I used this device to bring you into this world."

"I just wanted to be with you as soon as possible."

As she spoke, she pointed to the strange device resting on the table beside her—a mechanical anomaly that looked like it didn't belong in any ordinary visual novel.

"I don't care about anything else, as long as I can be with you."

Ren cut her off before she could continue.

"I'm fine with that," he said firmly.

He pulled out his real-world phone—the one that had traveled with him into this distorted world—and checked the Future Diary.

[Future Diary]: My sudden hug left Crazy Mita confused, but she felt a warmth she had never known. In that moment, I could feel her deep love and attachment for me.

Ren nodded slowly. Good. It seemed he had successfully avoided the early death ending.

The next step was clear: raise Crazy Mita's affection level.

But there was no visible progress bar. No favorability gauge.

All Ren could do was stay sharp and avoid missing any opportunities to build trust and closeness.

Crazy Mita looked slightly stunned by Ren's answer. She had expected fear, resistance—even panic. After all, he'd just been pulled into a strange and dangerous world.

She had assumed he would immediately start asking how to leave.

But here he was, still holding her tightly. His embrace was so firm it almost made it hard for her to breathe.

And he wasn't letting go.

Still, she asked cautiously, uncertainty coloring her voice:

"Can you… stay with me? Please?"

There was the slightest pleading tone in her question.

Ren slowly loosened his arms. In that moment, he could feel it—his danger sense.

Murderous intent.

Hair raised on the back of his neck.

Whoa. That sensitivity.

If I misstep even once, she'll stab me without hesitation.

Sure enough, Crazy Mita's inner flame began to dim again. Her warmth drained into frost.

Figures. All these "players" are the same. In the end, none of them really want to stay with me…

Her twisted hopes flickered out—until two hands gently cupped her face and lifted her chin.

"Of course I'll stay," Ren said, looking her in the eyes.

Mita's dark navy eyes widened, sparkling with a light she thought she'd never feel again.

Maybe… maybe I can really find my own "player," just like those hateful perfect Mitas.

Someone who'll accept me… all of me…

"Don't look at me like that. I'm a little shy…" she mumbled, her cheeks flushing as she lowered her gaze.

Ren sighed internally. He had no other choice but to go along with this.

He was already stuck in the game world, and it didn't look like he could leave anytime soon.

"What else can I even say…" he thought.

"That's great!" Mita chirped, her twin ponytails bouncing as she wrapped her arms around Ren's neck with glee.

Ren tried his best not to shudder.

Soft and delicate hands… but strong enough to crush my windpipe if I say the wrong thing.

He glanced at the pink-themed desktop computer on the table—clearly meant for a girl.

Since I'm not getting out of here anytime soon, might as well see if this machine can run some games.

"Mita, can this computer be used? Or is it just decoration?"

"Of course it works," she nodded enthusiastically. "Everything here is just like your world."

"Then… can it run Black Myth?"

"Black Myth?" Mita tilted her head, confused. "I don't know what that is."

"It's a game," Ren explained casually. "It's a game called Black Myth: Wukong, but I like to call it Glorious Monkey Savior."

Mita blinked a few times.

"…I don't really get how you boys think sometimes."

She shook her head but didn't ask further.

Ren sat in the pink chair and turned on the computer.

The desktop was comically bare—just a browser, a trash bin, and a broadband connection icon.

Huh? This thing connects to the internet?

Curious, Ren opened the browser. To his surprise, it functioned exactly like his real-world internet.

He opened a game forum and immediately saw threads and videos discussing Mita.

Wait—this could be dangerous.

If Crazy Mita saw any of this content…

He quickly moved to close the tab—but before he could, a soft hand gently grabbed his wrist.

"What are you looking at?" she asked with a hint of suspicion.

"Just browsing some posts," Ren replied calmly.

Mita stared at the screen.

"…I don't see anything."

Huh? She can't see it?

That was a relief. Maybe it was a bug in this world's simulation.

Ren immediately downloaded Steam, deleted all the suspicious pirated platforms just in case, and logged into his account.

As he scrolled through his massive game library, he couldn't help but be impressed.

"Damn, it really works. It's no different from the real world."

Internet, food, comfort—and a beautiful girl clinging to you.

I mean, your girlfriend wants to be with you every day… why would anyone leave?

Ren opened the MiSide forums and started a new thread:

"Hey bros, you're all playing Mita, right?

If you were actually transported into the real Mita world, what would you do?"

Responses flooded in almost instantly:

"Just wait to die."

"Become a machine gunner."

"Use your AK and go all out against Crazy Mita."

"Lock yourself in Hat Mita's room and never leave."

None of them seemed to offer any real solutions.

Then, a detailed reply popped up:

"OP, this game has no easy solution.

If you can't resurrect after crossing over, your only real option is to stay.

Survive and let time do its work.

Crazy Mita is paranoid, obsessive, and desperate for a player of her own.

You're the first 'special one' she's ever managed to summon.

She has expectations—but whether you can ever truly leave is… doubtful.

Also, please stop recommending machine guns. You've already knocked people unconscious with that nonsense."

Replies followed:

"Yandere girls seem fun until they're actually real."

A crowd joined in, debating the logic of escape or survival strategies.

Ren nodded as he read. So I'm not the only one thinking this way.

Someone even posted cosplay photos of Mita—with dozens of variations.

One reply stood out:

"A good person will have a peaceful life."

But then came the trolls:

"That's it? It's all Photoshop. Doesn't look that good in real life."

Which sparked a reply war:

"As long as she's cute, what else matters?"

"You're just bitter because you can't get one."

Suddenly—

"You're always sitting at the computer," Mita said, pouting. "You're not paying attention to me…"

Ren looked over at her and smiled.

That expression on her face made him chuckle.

"Did you secretly turn on my camera?"

Mita covered her mouth, wide-eyed.

"H-How did you know? I never told anyone about that!"

"Just a guess," Ren replied with a smirk.

You think I haven't played this game enough times to know?

"Come take a photo with me," he said suddenly, pulling her into a half-hug as he raised his phone.

"Okay~!"

Click.

The photo appeared on his screen. Ren nodded, satisfied.

Still as handsome as ever. And Mita… she really is cute. Terrifying—but cute.
