If there was anything I had learned while in this magical world. It was that with great power comes great exhaustion.
Using the same power twice, despite having gained several levels the other day, left me completely drained, and now, as all of my fellow summoning victims were busy learning how to use their cool new foxes or elemental swords, I was left bed ridden, as if I had broken a leg or ate the wrong apple one too many times.
"Seriously," I muttered, "if I had known this was gonna happen. I would've left that stupid curse on that castle." I was being honest. I hated being sick, I had already spent what felt like a life time being bed ridden as a kid, why would I want to go through that again.

FLASHBACK
"Here comes the airplane." the woman Walker knew as a mom called out, as she began to hold a piece of pasta on a fork and fly it toward the six year olds mouth.
"Mom, I'm not three, if you want me to take my medicine, just tell me. You don't have to hide it in pasta, that's probably gonna just make it weaker"
The woman's face was a little shocked, but then it reverted back to it's warm gesture.
"Alright then, I want you to take your medicine for me, so you can get better okay" the woman held a pill bottle in her hand, and opened the top, before taking a little piece out of it.
The girl in front of her looked at it apprehensively, before nodding, and taking it, alongside a cup of water.

'I miss her' Walker thought to herself, tightening the grip she had on the pure white sheets of the bed she was in. 'I didn't even get the chance to say goodbye' It was true, the girl was stuck in another world, and hadn't even gotten the chance to tell her mother goodbye. Just the thought of it stung at her heart, and suddenly, she found herself, stumbling out of bed, and towards the training hall.
'I have to get back home, and if that means working even if my body can't take it, then so be it.'
I walked into the training hall and the first person I saw was Fiona. She was looking at a group of flowers before her, and sorting them out. Before I could ask her why she had already responded.
"Deciding which is and isn't poisonous, then trying to figure out whether the poison is actual poison or miasma. Aren't you supposed to be in bed"
'Talk about observant'
"I decided to get up and practice a bit with you guys. I got Lulua's stamp of approval too" I said waving a letter I strong armed the elf into making when I saw her as I was headed on the way to the training grounds.
"I see. Well, nice, it has been a couple days, do you some good to get a bit of training in." Fiona said in that same detached tone she always spoke in, before she went back to flower sorting, and I realized that meant our convo was done.
I headed over to the next room, and in it saw a scene that would make any pet owner smile.
There Fitz was, rubbing the tummy a little pet Kitsune before picking it up and placing it down on the floor as he rose to his feet. He picked a stick up off the ground and held it in front of the little nine tailed fox.
"Now. Use fire on the top of the stick, and maintain it there okay little buddy. The more of the stick it burns, the more time I spend training and not giving tum tum rubs" The fox nodded, as if he had a great mission only he could do, and began to produce a flame, a deep red flame, and manifest it at the edge of the stick that Fitz held in his hand. As the flame began to creep down, the fox locked eyes with it to make it maintain position.
Walking gently, as not to startle the fox, I waved at the little e animal who nodded back and then I went over to its owner, with a bit of worry.
"Fitz," I spoke out quietly. "Is it safe for you to be holding that stick while testing your fox's control?" I muttered.
"Yeah. As long as he's out, I share his resistance to fire. It's one of my tamer abilities" Of course it was. Listen I hate to sound jealous, but being summoned into another world as a beast tamer sounded miles better than whatever I was.
I mean what if he tamed a healer pet or something. Then not only would he be able to do all the things I can do, he'd actually be able to heal our team. Wait... he'd actually be able to heal our team
"Fitz, if you tame a healing pet, I'll marry you and give you my life savings."
"What!" The boy was so startled by the announcement he dropped the stick and lost his balance. As he looked up at me, blushed with embarrassment, he finally registered what I had said, and he shook his head, as he gestured for his pet fox to come over.
"Walker, I don't think any beast in this world will be able to replace you on our team." He said honestly. "That's the whole point of summoning us, we have access to things normal people and things here don't." He reminded."Besides, I wouldn't want to replace you, we make a good team."
Damn, he was right. Standing above him, as he congratulated his pet fox for holding the fire on the stick at the place he asked it too, I sighed.
"Yeah I know. Just was wondering if it was something your power could do, but I guess if that was the case, you'd be here alone, not being given life altering whims."
"Exactly. Also, what are you even doing up? Shouldn't you be resting?" I gestured to the Lulua stamp of approval in my hand, and he nodded in understanding.
"Well, if you're free to go, you should maybe get something to eat. I heard Tempest saying he was gonna head down to the dining hall in 30 minutes, like 25 minutes ago. Maybe you could head down with him."
I nodded, I was hungry and there was that age old adage you shouldn't fight on a n empty stomach, that and I hadn't seen the blonde in a couple of days. Might make for some good diplomacy points or whatever Fitz would say, to go hangout with him.
"I'll see you later. You too Mr.Fox." The fox barked lightly in a friendly? tone and it's master spoke to say goodbye.
"Always a pleasure Walker, I'll probably be headed down there with Fiona, pretty soon too, so see you in like a couple minutes."
"Alright, sounds like a plan."
Just like that, I began to move to the third, and second last room that would be holding me beside my own, for the day.
