Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: TRANSMIGRATED?

[ "Is this the Extent of your abilities? I must say, I am truly Disappointed." In a vast expanse of land that stretched beyond the eye could fathom, A single figure stood with a disturbing aura around him.

With long silver hair that cascaded down his waist, and unusually crimson pupils that could peer through souls with a single glance, he had an unnaturally wide smile on his face as he stared at his Greatsword, his intentions unkown to all but the victim of the sword.

With dirt blonde hair and ocean blue eyes filled with pure dread, Adrian stared at the sword with a particular Emotion.

Was it ... Fear? Anger? Or Despair?

He didn't really know, and He didn't really care.

He was battered and bruised, barely left standing, but still standing.

He took a look at his body and chuckled hoarsely, but the simple action led him to vomit blood.

The red liquid trickled along the smooth ground like a crying river whose source bore an unending sorrow.

It was pathetic.

He was pathetic.

His entire left arm had been brutally detached from his body and was lying some distance away, still twitching due to the nerves.

His lungs were punctured and he could hardly breath, each labour for breath was hell.

His ribs were broken and one had Bent in such an unnatural angle that it was barely poking his heart.

His face was totally disfigured with blood rushing out from all his seven orfices. In fact, it was a miracle that he hadn't died from blood loss.

But the figure whose presence his attention was fixed onto? Not even a serious wound. The only visible evidence that he had engaged in combat were the barely noticeable red stains from his already healed wounds.

How? Was the only thought in his mind.

He thought he could rewrite history?

He thought he could challenge Fate?

On this day, he despaired, he was saddened, outraged.

But he never gave up, not until the very end.

Standing up with a strained 'grunt', he looked at the figure that stood in the distance , who was staring at the blood on the Greatsword like it was the most prized possession in the world. His attention soon shifted to Adrian , his gaze gleaming with a sadistic glint.

Aerin , the leader of the Azure, the number 0.

Adrian Raised his intimidating sword, the soul reaper to eye level. Aerin similarly mimicked him with a gaze full of mockery and scorn.

Adrian knew.

He knew that even if he managed to escape, He would die from his severe wounds, he also knew that the Bastard was too strong for him to drag along.

He knew he would die here, that much was obvious. There was nothing he could do to make Aerin feel dread..... Except one thing.

" Hey! What do you call a fake noodle?" Adrian called out to Aerin with a smile on his disfigured face.

" I don't know, but do humor me." Aerin said with a curious gaze.

".....An impasta"

Aerin tensed upon hearing those words and a look of exasperation appeared on his face.

That was enough for Adrian.

No words were exchanged as Adrian's figure blurred and appeared before Seeing

with one thought echoing through his mind.

'Fate is a Bastard.'

That day, the Universe wept for Adrian, the cosmos mourned for him.

He was never chosen the victor, but the Victim.

Fate was truly pathetic.

THE END.]

*Bang*

"....."

Andrew banged the relatively voluminous book against the fine, polished Oakwood Table of his private study.

"What kind of stupid ending is this? The MC dies?" He said with a deep frown. He turned the book over to display its cover. Illustrated on the book was a young ma n with dirt blonde hair and blue eyes carrying an intimidating but oddly ethereal sword resting on his shoulder. The youth wore a black overcoat and stood on the roof of a skyscraper with a witty smile.

The words 'ASSASSIN CHRONICLES' was written with a blood like font on the book.

" I wasted Three months Reading this, only for this useless ending." Andrew looked further down the cover to look at the name of the Author.

' Karl von Nistelrooy' was a name Andrew had been obsessed with as of recent.

He used every disposable resource at hand to find this guy, Even going as far as offering Millions to anyone who found him , but up to this day, nothing. It was almost as if the author was Non existent. Almost.

Andrew flipped to the very back of the book to see if He had skipped a page of some sort, but every time, he would flip to the very end of the book and every time, he would be met with a blank paper and a pang of disappointment.

Andrew checked his time and faintly chuckled to Him self. He had excused himself during dinner with some Dignitaries to come and finish up the book a quarter of an hour ago because the suspense was killing him. He had left the discussions to his younger Brother of 26 years, James Heather ,whose social skills were just pitiful.

'Tsk, what Dignitaries? They are just ass lickers and corporate Beggars. A Bunch of Dignified Assholes that want to be associated with a Billionaire' He thought with yet another chuckle.

Such was Andrew's Evaluation of them. He was a man that liked to humor himself with rather peculiar thoughts. Such a crazed mind was what led him to be the worlds youngest billionaire at 29 years, his net worth around $107 Billion. He was the owner of Webwatch, A streaming service that surpassed Netflix, YouTube and others.

His plan was simple; make movies of higher resolution available at a very low price. Of course, with such a plan, the business was bound for failure, but He took the risk and emerged victorious.

'Enough of that.' Andrew thought as He stood up and prepared to head out, but He suddenly froze.

This was because he had found a note beneath the book. It was a neatly folded paper, that was barely noticeable. When He checked before, He was sure nothing was underneath. He opened it up and skimmed quickly through the contents. It read:

Dear Reader san,

I'm glad you have enjoyed my book, for you are my last reader Since Volume one. I'm sure you are puzzled about the ending you just finished reading. The truth is, there is no happy ever after. Since you are my last reader however, I will give you a chance to rectify that, for satisfied customers are my top priority!

Yours Author

Karl von nistelrooy.

'What?' Andrew felt a chill run down his spine. He had an intuition that something was going to go wrong.

The next moment, A searing pain coursed through his chest.

"Aaargh!" He managed to let out a scream, and he fell to the floor , writhing in Extreme agony whilst clutching his chest. His breath Hitched, his breathing extremely laboured.

He was having a heart Attack!

Extreme pain coursed through his body, then numbness. He could barely feel anything anymore as he slipped into the infinite state of unconsciousness.

In his last moments, Andrew couldn't help but let outa condescending chuckle. His father had died of a Heart Attack, and now he was bowing out the same way.

It wasn't history finding a way to repeat itself, but rather the universe finding a way to screw him over, Even after he defied all logic and became a billionaire overnight, the universe still hated him. As he took his last breath, he glanced at the book which had fallen to the floor. It was glowing with a strange Ethereal light that appeared to be reflecting the moon's beautiful night glow.

' Is it the book?' Was the last thought in his mind before he finally Died.

---------------

At the same time.....

In a coffee shop some miles away, A figure whose features were confined within a hoodie looked up and stared In a particular direction.

Although the figure's features were hidden behind the hoodie, if one looked closely, they could tell the figure was ..... Smiling?

"Let's see how long you'll last"
