Chapter 242: The Summer Star
While the Third Hoshikage's head still retained some warmth, Sasuke quickly placed his hands on it. "Mind Reading Technique!"
The Hoshikage's abilities were not very good, but extracting the complete information from a memory maze that spanned almost a century was much more challenging than even Shennong's. Fortunately, he did not possess advanced secrets like seals, and since he was already dead, it was only a matter of time.
"It's a forbidden explosive technique, not a senjutsu?" Sasuke shook his head, disappointed.
The corruption of his heart was not caused by the reaction of senjutsu energy, but by the activation of dark energy, a powerful explosive technique. He used his body's star chakra to condense a chakra cloak, similar to the toad oil from Mount Myoboku, that absorbed dark energy from the void, fusing it with the star chakra.
'If I use the Wind Style chakra mode instead of the star chakra cloak to simulate the effects of toad oil and absorb the mysterious factors from the air, wouldn't it be...?'
Although he didn't obtain senjutsu, he inherited a secret magical technique. By learning from it, he could further improve the Wind Breathing Technique.
The information in the Hoshikage's head, in addition to the magical secrets, was also quite useful, especially regarding chakra sharing, which could be a small complement to the slug technique. If this technique could be used to assimilate the Umino clan ninjas' chakra with Umibozu's, it wouldn't be impossible to develop a water transformation technique similar to the Hozuki clan's.
"This is the biggest reward from this trip," Sasuke said, and finally retrieved the meteorite. He first scraped off a little dust and examined it, but found no traces of any animal or plant. After repeated attempts, he injected a portion of the Nine-Tails' chakra into it. The dust reacted violently, showing signs of activation.
"These really are the remnants of the Ten-Tails!"
After more experiments, he could finally confirm it.
"Now we only lack the tailed beast's chakra."
After calming down and continuing his studies, he left Lab Zero.
"Kakuzu, why did you teach them how to refine chakra?"
"Boss, didn't you buy these three seedlings on the black market? Do you expect them to eat for free if you don't train them?"
"Who said I bought them? Do I look like a child kidnapper?"
Kakuzu, obviously, knew the origin of these children. "Boss, you're not planning to help them find their parents, are you?"
"Yes, I am."
"Then don't waste energy. Their memories have been erased. It's impossible to find them."
"Boss," Kakuzu said, "the company is very short on personnel. Why don't we build our own ninja village?"
"Kakuzu, if the Land of Waves establishes a village, Konoha and the Mist will surely come to sabotage it."
"We can find a secluded island and train them in secret," he suggested.
"That's a good idea," Sasuke mused. The Angkor Fortress needed guards. The chain of islands was a lawless area, a perfect training ground. Seeing that Sasuke agreed, Kakuzu called the three children over.
"These three are talented, perfect for the first generation of apprentices. Please give them names."
"Red hair?" Sasuke noticed that the girl had already refined chakra. It wasn't her talent that caught his attention, but her hair, though not as red as the Uzumaki's.
"From now on, you will be called Natsuhi," he said, patting her on the head. As for the other two, since he wasn't sure of their future identities, he named them Yotaka and Sosuke.
