Chapter 93 - Chapter 93: Prologue to the Sky Island

Grand Line – Small Naval Warship

The blue sea sparkled as a small warship flying the Navy flag cut through the waves, a trail of white foam in its wake. Sunlight bathed the deck in a golden glow.

In the middle of the deck, a group of young people sat in a circle, excitedly discussing—or rather, chaotically arguing.

"Which pirate crew do you think Captain Roy is taking us to fight?" Luffy's eyes were sparkling, his fists waving in the air. "Is it a big-time pirate with a bounty over a billion? Or are we going to fight Kaido?!"

Ace slapped him on the back of the head. "Idiot! There's no way he'd just take us to pick a fight with Kaido!"

"Ow!" Luffy clutched his head and retorted, "That doesn't mean we can't try!"

Zoro leaned against the railing, slowly spinning the hilt of his sword. "I don't care who it is, as long as I get a good fight."

Kuina rolled her eyes at him, standing nearby with her arms crossed, looking exasperated. "All you think about is fighting. Can't you use your brain for once?"

Zoro pouted slightly. "Tch, mind your own business~"

Law sat quietly to the side, reading a thick medical textbook, a faint smile on his lips as he listened to their bickering.

Just then, the cabin door clicked open, and Roy emerged, holding a nautical chart and wearing a mysterious smile.

"Hey, hey, Captain Roy!" Luffy was the first to jump up, his eyes shining as he rushed over. "Tell us where we're going this time! Who are we fighting?!"

Ace came over too, his eyes bright. "Are we going to the New World? I hear there are a lot of strong pirates there!"

Even Zoro and Kuina turned to look at him, and Law put down his book, his gaze joining theirs.

Roy didn't answer directly. He just smiled mysteriously, slowly raising a hand and pointing to the blue sky—

"This time, I'm taking you... to the sky."

"Huh?!"

"What?!"

"Where did you say?!"

They all exclaimed at once. Luffy and Ace's jaws nearly hit the deck.

"How do we get to the sky?!" Luffy scratched his head, completely baffled. "We're not birds!"

"You're not planning on just throwing us up there, are you?" Ace's brow twitched, and he took a step back. "No way, I don't want to be seagull food!"

"You two idiots, can't you think before you speak?" Kuina rubbed her temples.

Zoro stared at the sky, looking thoughtful. "The sky?"

Just then, Law, who had been silent, suddenly looked up, a thoughtful gleam in his eyes. "The sky... Captain Roy, are you talking about a Sky Island?"

All eyes turned to him.

"A Sky Island?" Kuina asked, surprised. "You mean, like the ones in legends that float on the clouds?"

"Yes," Law nodded slightly. "I read about it in an old newspaper in the library. Legend says that high in the sky of the Grand Line, there are sky currents that carry islands up, forming sky civilizations."

"Whoaaaaa!!"

"A Sky Island?!" Luffy and Ace's eyes instantly lit up, and they shouted in unison, "For real?! Are there really islands in the sky?!"

Even Zoro showed a rare look of interest. "Islands on the clouds... interesting."

Roy smiled and nodded. "That's right. Our destination is a Sky Island—the legendary 'Skypiea'!"

"Whoaaaaa!!!" Luffy and Ace jumped up in excitement, spinning around on the deck. "To the Sky Island! To the Sky Island!!"

Zoro gripped the hilt of his sword, his eyes burning with fighting spirit. "Above the clouds... there must be strong opponents worth fighting there too."

Kuina sighed in exasperation. "You guys... can you please calm down?"

Roy couldn't help but laugh at their antics. "Alright, everyone, quiet down! I've heard that not only are there floating islands, but also seas made of clouds and a unique weapon civilization!"

"I can't wait to see what meat made of clouds tastes like!!" Luffy raised his fists high.

Ace looked at Roy. "But Captain Roy... how are we going to get up there?"

"Don't worry," Roy said, holding up the nautical chart with a meaningful smile. "I've already prepared a 'road to heaven'!"

After sailing for some time, the warship came to a stop in a calm, mirror-like sea. Roy stood at the prow, holding a nautical chart and comparing it with the sky, squinting as he looked up at the overlapping cloud layers, as if confirming some invisible coordinate.

The more perceptive Law and Kuina noticed Roy's actions and looked at each other. Almost simultaneously, they grabbed hold of the railing and mast.

"Hey, why are you two so tense all of a sudden?" Zoro asked, looking at them blankly.

Ace and Luffy came over, equally confused. "Captain Roy, why did we stop?" Luffy asked, tilting his head.

Roy's lips curved into a cunning smile. He didn't answer, but simply took a deep breath and then shouted at the top of his lungs—

"Alright, kids! Let's go!"

"Huh?" Ace, Luffy, and Zoro hadn't even processed it when—

SWOOSH!!!

The entire warship vanished from the sea surface.

"Whoaaaaa—!!!"

A violent sense of weightlessness washed over them. Their feet left the deck, and they felt as if they were plummeting into a bottomless abyss. When they opened their eyes, the ship was already thousands of meters in the air, in a rapid freefall.

"Captain Roy!!! What's going on?!!" Ace clung to the mast, his face pale, his hair a mess in the wind.

"We're going to fall!!!" Luffy flailed his limbs, looking like a noodle in the wind.

Zoro was flat on the deck, gripping the edge of the ship, his eye twitching as he yelled, "At least give us a warning next time!!!"

Roy stood in the center of the deck, completely unaffected, laughing heartily. Before they could even get used to the fear of falling, he waved his hand again—

SWOOSH!!!

The ship teleported again, appearing even higher in the sky.

"Urgh!!!" Zoro's face turned green as he struggled not to throw up.

"It's... it's happening again!!!" Ace and Luffy clung to each other like two terrified chicks, tears streaming from their eyes.

After several more violent teleports, the warship finally—at an altitude of ten thousand meters—

CRASH!!!

—slammed into a soft, cotton-like cloud layer, kicking up a massive wave of mist.

The group was thrown around by the series of impacts, left sprawling on the deck, gasping for breath.

When the mist gradually cleared, the sight before them left everyone stunned—

"This... is..."

A vast, white sea of clouds stretched to the horizon, like a floating continent. Under the blue sky, several massive islands hung suspended above the clouds like fragments of heaven. They were lush with strange and beautiful plants, their buildings as magnificent as a dream. In the distance, a waterfall poured from a higher cloud layer, its stream refracting the sunlight into a rainbow, like a gateway to the heavens. Even more astonishingly, several giant "sky fish" flew freely between the islands, their wings leaving trails of mist, a majestic and mysterious sight.

"This... this is... a Sky Island?!" Ace stammered, at a loss for words.

Zoro managed to stand up, leaning on the railing, his face still pale. "Captain Roy, next time you teleport... please give us a heads-up..."

"I'm gonna be sick..." Luffy clutched his stomach, his eyes red.

"I... I think my soul is still down there..." Ace collapsed onto the deck, his eyes spinning.

Even Law and Kuina, who had been prepared, were now pale. Law steadied himself and managed a weak smile. "This method of travel... is certainly... rough."

Kuina wiped the cold sweat from her forehead. "Mr. Roy... don't you think you're being a little too reckless...?"

Roy stood at the prow, laughing into the high-altitude wind. "Hahaha! This is a trial too, kids!!!"

"A trial from hell!!!" Ace, Luffy, and Zoro roared in unison, their voices echoing through the clouds.

Just as they were catching their breath, Roy's expression turned serious. He pointed into the distance. "Ahead of us is 'Angel Island,' where the residents of the Sky Island live."

They followed his finger and saw a distant cloud island that looked like a celestial palace, surrounded by radiant light and swirling clouds.

"It really is... an island in the sky," Ace murmured, his eyes filled with childlike wonder.

"Alright! I'm gonna eat Sky Island meat!!!" Luffy was instantly re-energized, so excited he nearly jumped off the ship.

Zoro snorted. "Hmph, whatever their fighting style is, I'll just cut through it."

Law shook his head helplessly. "You guys... can't you at least confirm if they're friend or foe before you act?"

Kuina sighed. "These people, honestly..."

Roy grinned and waved his hand, his voice full of energy. "Let's go! The Sky Island adventure begins!!!"

"YEAH—!!!"

The warship slowly sailed towards Angel Island, its arrival destined to shatter the peace and order of this land in the sky...
