We had to wrap our heads around this whole thing so we won't expose too much.
"I rejected my mate. I - I have no mate for now. I've only been crushing on Derek." Those words slipped out of my mouth. I had no idea how I was able to come up with such an explanation.
Mason's eyes dilated and then he narrowed his eyes at me. Murmurs erupted from the students. Some insulted me and called me a fool.
"Why would you reject your mate all because you want to be in a relationship with Derek? What if Derek has someone else as his mate? Aren't you the dumbest thing that ever existed?"
Chloe scuffed, shooting me a scathing look.
"She probably wants to use Derek as her second chance mate. Will Derek even accept her as his? I doubt if he'll do so…"
Another murmur erupted from the back
"But don't you think Derek is interested in her? Didn't you see how he was so ready to fight for her? Didn't you see how jealous he was when he saw Mason kiss her. He has never cared that much about any girl before. What could be so special about Isabel? What did he see in that stupid nerd?!"
Maria quipped in, staring at me with so much disgust that made my skin crawl.
I pressed my lips together as I looked down to my shoes, hearing all the murmurs in the background irritated me. I just got myself more enemies. Now everyone is aware or thinks that I have a crush on Derek. They believe we might be dating as well. I can't even imagine the expression that will be on their faces once they discover that we're step-siblings.
"So, Isabel, you're choosing Derek and not me?" Mason asked, to my dismay.
"When have I ever mentioned that I'm interested in you? You're only forcing yourself on me, you pervert. I will never go back to someone like you. Remember you rejected me and I've accepted your rejection. I've put all of those behind me and I've moved on completely. You should learn to do the same, Mason!"
I snapped at him, finally voicing out and expressing my feelings.
He stared at me for a long time..His expression was unreadable. With his gaze shifting at Derek, he smirked before slipping his fingers into his hair.
"Let's go," I heard him say to Enzo whose eyes widened slightly.
"I thought we're supposed to teach that jerk a lesson.. What happened, Mason? Don't you wanna fight him?"
Enzo inquired, grasping Mason's arm.
Mason smirked as he turned to face him. The countenance on his face was mischievous and I'm certain he has some other plans..
It's strange for Mason to back down in a fight.. He has never done something like this before. What could he be planning? Why is he attempting not to fight with Derek?!
"I have another way to get back at him.. Let him enjoy for the time being…" Mason mumbled and my eyes widened slightly. He's going to get back at him? How?!
Oh.. No. Derek isn't safe.
Mason shifted his gaze at me and his countenance wasn't friendly at all.
"And for you, Isabel.. for rejecting me and breaking my heart, I'll surely make you pay for it,"
Mason threatened and giggled like a psycho. Derek was about to charge at him but I held his hands tightly, trying to stop him from moving towards him or causing more trouble.
We could settle all of this without fighting once again.
One of my greatest regrets was dating Mason. I never knew he'd be this stupidly obsessed over me. I'm certain he doesn't even love me. He's only trying to get close to me because he wants to get something from me. He's a pervert. He has never been faithful. Why would I accept an idiot like him as mine?!
"I'll make sure I catch you and do the unthinkable to you," Mason threatened and boasted while Derek gritted his teeth, glaring at him with reddened furious eyes.
"What do you mean?!"
"I will make Isabel my mistress! I'll make her my sex toy and there's nothing you can do about it. She'll obey no one but me. I'll use her whenever I wish and I'll only let her go when I get tired of her. This is a school where the rich get whatever they want. I crave her and I'll get her at all costs. You aren't gonna stop me, Derek. You can only try to confront me if your parents are stinkingly wealthy like mine or if they're related to the Alpha,"
Mason boasted, causing me to widen my eyes in disbelief.
"Ttch! Such an idiot can never be related to my dad. He might be from an average middle class family. I'm sure his parents or even his relatives aren't even related to my Dad's security guard. Their income won't even be close to that of my guards,"
Enzo boasted while Gerald as well as some bullies in the class bursted out into laughter.
I knew Mason had always been a fool but I never knew he was a psycho. I'm not so surprised that he's been acting this way so he could get between my panties. I'm so glad he has never slept with me and I won't allow him. Only Derek will have me because he's the rightful one for me.
Derek ignored the silly mockery Enzo made of him. He directed his gaze at Mason, his eyes filled with contempt.
Derek gritted his teeth, clenched his fists and fired, "You wouldn't dare to do what you've said. I'll rip off all of your fingers and disfigure you beyond recognition, mark my words!"
Mason nodded and stared at him with a scornful gaze.
"Derek Walton right?! The battle has just begun.,.."
Mason spilled out those last words before making his way out of the class with Enzo. A teacher walked in not quite long and we all arranged ourselves on our seats.
"Where the hell do you two think you're going?! Don't you see you have a class?!" The teacher asked as he directed his gaze at Enzo and Mason. Enzo glared at the teacher whose eyes widened in turn as he adjusted his spectacles. He averted his gaze from Enzo and turned to face the other students. He had no right to control Enzo since he was the Alpha's son.
Enzo left the classroom with Mason and I turned to look at Derek. A teacher has no right over Enzo.. that means they can do what they want and get away with it..
I hope my Derek is safe. I don't want him to get bullied because of those two idiots..
As I returned to my seat, I pressed my lips together, trying to hold back my tears. I'm not safe either. Mason's statement still echoes in my ear every second.. What if he tries to harm me? What if he has plans on forcing himself on me?!
