Chapter 82 - Chapter 80:Strange Healing Abilities part two

Of course, when a normal human became a mutant, countless things about them changed. The very first change was the formation of a mutant core. This core served as both the connection to their mutation and an energy source—a kind of living battery that supplied the power needed to activate their abilities.

As the mutant core evolved from stage to stage, so did the individual's energy reserves and their control over their mutation.

But the mutant core wasn't the only change. Newly mutated humans gained various perks, which differed from person to person. Enhanced strength far beyond human limits. Improved speed, reflexes, stamina, and even intelligence.

And that wasn't all.

After mutation, the human body itself underwent upgrades. Cells became stronger, more resilient. Disease resistance increased. Healing capabilities were enhanced. Everything was refined to its optimum state.

Yet Fai hadn't undergone any mutation at all.

And still… he was benefiting from these perks.

How?

The answer was simple.

His fairy system.

But that was a secret—one that absolutely no one could know about. Not yet. Not while he was still weak. Maybe someday, when he was stronger, older, more prepared, he could take that risk. But not now.

For now, it was a thought he couldn't afford.

Sarah, still unable to make sense of what she had observed, felt her head begin to ache. She decided to set the matter aside—for the moment. She wouldn't forget it. She would simply let it rest… until the time came to dig deeper.

Fai finally stopped in front of them. He stood still, his head lowered slightly, his eyes locking onto Johnson's.

Johnson was still on the floor, his hand in pain, but the pain didn't stop him from noticing the look on Sarah's face.

Although she tried her best to hide her suspicion, it still leaked out of the shell it was hidden in.

'I know what she is thinking..' Johnson thought, his eyes lingering on her then back to Fai.

'He looks totally fine, even though he was the one who was being attacked yesterday, but looking at him... it doesn't say the same story.'

Johnson thought. He knew Fai was special, he knew something was different about him. The fact he was able to take on his bullies from before was only a confirmation to the thought Johnson had.

So of course, Johnson was aware of Fai's healing capacity, he had witnessed it. But back then he didn't want to press on the matter, and also, he had made up his mind to be with Fai, so he was certain, no matter what, he wouldn't question him. It might take time but... maybe someday Fai would open up to him.

But until then...

At least these were his thoughts. But unfortunately not everyone was going to be like him, not everyone would welcome such differentness.

Others might see Fai in a different light... they might see him as a monster... or a way to make millions.

They would immediately use any opportunity they get to use him for themselves, they would have the government go through some experiments on him... all that to maybe make a mutation pill, or a healing pill... in fact anything, as long as it brings them money.

And that was what Johnson was afraid of as he looked at Sarah's suspicious look. Okay, she was someone Fai could trust, and so what?? Humans were unpredictable, and the look she was giving was only a confirmation to that, the final nail to the coffin.

'I need to do something about this, if not who knows what might happen, even if it does not happen now... there is no saying what might happen in the future, she might not have voiced her thoughts now but there's no telling what she could do.'

He had to come up with a plan, and fast. Luckily, he knew exactly what to do.

"bI can see bthose bpills bplayed their btrick"

Johnson said looking at Fai, as he did he tried to wink his eye, but he ended up winking the big one... and trust me, it made no sense from Fai's point of view.

"What??" Fai said, confused.

Not only were Johnson's words muffled, the wink he did, it didn't even seem like a wink, his eye was so big that it was almost closed, so a wink would not be obvious.

Seeing the situation, Johnson knew he had to try harder.

"The bpills!!! Remember, the one meant to fasten your healing process!!! The one I gave you the moment I met you"

He said again, this time he tried his best to pronounce the words well and also he used the purple eye to do the winking... he tried his best to pass the message... let's hope it worked.

Fortunately it did...

This time, with Johnson's full effort, Fai was able to get the message clearly. It finally clicked, Johnson was trying to cover up for his healing capacity.

Fai himself couldn't believe it. Something so crucial had totally crossed his mind. Of course, his healing was a big deal, something people were going to get suspicious of. The worst part of it was that it was something he couldn't control.

It just happened on its own, his body now considered it natural, maybe too natural, just like we can't stop breathing... unless we die of course... it was the same for his body, it wouldn't stop healing.

A human who had the ability to heal their wounds... well actually that wasn't the problem, the body could heal wounds on its own, even if the wounds were not being tended to, the antibodies in the human system could work that out, but it would take time. This was common sense, everyone knew this.

The problem was when it came to the extent of healing even broken bones, and under short notice, under a limited time frame, that was something unheard of. Something else entirely, and the fact that Fai wasn't a mutant just made it more complicated than it already was.

'Even in this state... you're still trying to help' Fai thought, warmth piercing his heart.

"Oh yes, the pills, I actually have to thank you for those, they obviously did a really great job... it's just that my head hurts a bit"

Fai said.

"Well don't worry about that, it's because you're taking it for the first time, your brain is feeling dizzy, it's trying to register the feelings so that next time it can do the fast healing on its own"

Johnson said.

Well I too got to admit... these guys are good liars damn..
