After Fai clicked the "Yes" option, the system proceeded to provide the further explanation it had promised. However, it turned out to be less of an explanation and more of a critical review of Fai's recent fight.
Not only did it analyze Fai's battle, but it did so in a manner that implied the system itself could have performed far better, almost as if Fai were an amateur in combat.
"If I hadn't known better, I'd say this system was giving me a review of my fight, and from the looks of it, I had performed poorly," Fai thought, a hint of indignation stirring within him.
However, Fai's thoughts weren't wrong; the system was indeed giving him a review of his fight. But more than that, it was doing so from a fairy's point of view, a detail Fai hadn't initially grasped.
The system was comparing his fighting style to that of a fairy before offering its critique, even including other seemingly unrelated observations.
Nevertheless, he was sure of it: after the system's explanation, he now fully understood how the skill worked and its precise function.
The only thing left was for him to discern when and in which scenarios it would be best to utilize the skill, especially since the system had touched upon that very area in its explanation.
And from the explanation, it was clear that using the skill in the wrong situation would be a complete waste, particularly since the skill had only four uses.
"I don't know why, but I'm kind of excited to test this skill out," Fai thought, a childlike eagerness bubbling within him, akin to a child who had just received a new toy.
However, Fai wasn't just excited because he wanted to use the skill; he was genuinely thrilled by what he might learn from it. From the sound of it, the system seemed poised to give him a tutorial, but one where he would be merely a viewer within his own body.
Moreover, unlike other children, Fai had to train on his own from a young age. Since he had decided to participate in the assessment, he had been training in solitude, and everything he knew about combat he had learned through relentless research and sheer willpower. Nothing had ever been formally taught to him.
Unlike other kids, he didn't have the privilege of being taught by another individual, or even by any structured learning resource at all. Therefore, he was genuinely excited to discover what insights he might gain from the system.
"Maybe I'll even unlock my wings, who knows," he thought, momentarily mocking himself, knowing full well that such a serendipitous event was highly improbable.
Now, with the system seemingly having no more surprises for him, Fai proceeded to close the interface. Once he did, he took a moment to observe his surroundings.
It was then that he realized morning was already on its way. Checking his watch, he saw it was precisely 5:00 AM.
"What the...? It's already morning?" Fai thought, a flicker of disbelief crossing his face.
"It's funny, I don't even feel tired. Is this normal, or is it due to what I have now become?" Fai mused, questioning his own physical state.
As he pondered, he realized that the latter option was the most appropriate. For one, after becoming a "Seedling," as described by the system, Fai had noticed several changes.
The first was that he didn't get hungry as quickly as he used to; he could somehow resist hunger for longer periods without having to fake it.
The second was that he didn't require as much sleep as others; just a little bit was sufficient for him. Lastly, he realized that he could recover from almost any wound, whether fatal or not, not to mention his strength, which seemed to have significantly increased recently.
All of these changes, though seemingly minor individually, if revealed to the wrong person, might lead them to perceive Fai as some sort of monster.
Each characteristic on its own could be considered a mutation, yet here he was, an individual possessing all of them as a natural side effect of his new fairy nature.
Fai then stood up to stretch and flex his stiff muscles, but unfortunately, the system wasn't quite done with him.
Immediately as he rose, he received another message from the system.

"Oh man, I almost forgot about this," Fai thought with a groan.
So many things had been happening to him lately, too quickly, and he had been overwhelmed with the immense pressure from the assessment, alongside numerous unexpected situations.
All of that had even made him forget that he had a daily quest to complete to gain more experience.
"I guess I need to get back to work. I need to complete this quest if I want to have any chance. But I need to be careful not to wake these people up," he thought, glancing at the two figures peacefully sleeping nearby.
With that, Fai came to a swift conclusion: he was going to complete his quest right there. Fortunately for him, his teammates were still sound asleep.
But he couldn't just leave his spot without letting them be aware; he needed to tell at least someone, and fortunately, he knew who he would tell.
He slowly moved his way to a sleeping Johnson. He then proceeded to tap him slowly, bringing him back to reality.
It didn't take long for Johnson to wake up. Fai then proceeded to tell Johnson what he was about to do—a little run to spring his cells to life.
At first, Johnson was worried and wanted to refuse. He knew it was dangerous; this stage was dangerous and wasn't a place where someone could casually go for a morning run—that was, except if they were strong enough to protect themselves.
But Fai wasn't strong enough to protect himself; at least that was Johnson's point of view. And he was right. In the end, Fai was still a normal human.
Faced against another mutant, he might not make it. Although he won the fight against Keal's group, the victory could still be associated with luck.
Fortunately, with a little bit of convincing, Johnson had to let Fai go. He had to trust him, even if it was just this once.
So, with that done, Fai immediately began to run, eager to complete the quest. Conveniently, the exact area for the run wasn't specified, meaning he could even run in the same spot, and the system would still record it.
This implied he could effectively cover 10 kilometers by simply running two meters back and forth.
The system would only mark the distance his foot had moved, adding it all up.
With that realization, he embarked on his mission to complete the quest.
During his run, he also distinctly recalled the system giving him a separate, overarching quest to reach Level 12.
"I wonder what type of gift I'll receive then," Fai mused, a renewed sense of anticipation fueling his efforts.
What did the system have in reserve for him? He didn't know, but the future would tell... right?
