Chapter 87 - SS 87: The Nonexistent Man, A Talk with the Ancient One

The yellow robes parted, revealing the Ancient One, one of Marvel's two iconic bald figures.

"So, it's the MCU Ancient One." Kaiser thought.

"Given Wanda's presence, this must be a universe akin to the Sacred Timeline."

"But it's likely not the Sacred Timeline."

"If I were in the Sacred Timeline, I'd already be arrested as a time criminal."

Seeing her appearance, Kaiser gained some clarity about the universe he was in.

It was relatively safe, at least.

The Ancient One stood silently, observing.

Dinner was served, and the four sat down.

Wanda and Pietro looked at her curiously, never having seen her before.

"Let's eat and talk." Kaiser said, gesturing to the meal.

"You must be of foreign descent, Mr. Kaiser." The Ancient One remarked.

"Your habits seem familiar."

She studied him, unable to see through him.

He had appeared suddenly in the timeline.

And in future events, he played a pivotal role.

She had witnessed his creation.

But she couldn't believe it.

A being conjured by Wanda could cause such ripples in the future?

"Are you truly Wanda's creation?" She asked.

"This touches the authority of a creator god."

"I'm curious about your origins."

"You have a complete soul and mind."

"I don't believe this is mere coincidence."

The Ancient One paused, voicing her doubts.

Chaos Magic was powerful, but it relied on Wanda's cognition to alter reality.

And it was tightly bound to Wanda's power.

Yet, from what she'd seen, the Ancient One didn't believe Kaiser was just Wanda's construct.

She even suspected he was a dimensional demon…

…using Wanda's Chaos Magic to bypass Earth's Vishanti Barrier and infiltrate.

But his future actions didn't align with a demon's motives.

She needed to know what Kaiser truly was.

"My existence depends on Wanda." Kaiser replied.

"As long as she's safe, I'll do nothing to harm Earth."

"You've seen that, haven't you?"

"As for who I am or where I come from... does it matter?"

Kaiser smiled, sidestepping her probe.

With Wanda as his anchor, his origins were untraceable.

"Is that so…" The Ancient One mused, thoughtful.

She seemed to ponder something deeper.

"You know Wanda's power is tied to you." She said.

"What if I told you I could help her develop that power?"

"I could even make her the next Sorcerer Supreme."

Her words caught Kaiser off guard.

Wanda as the Sorcerer Supreme?

It was a viable path.

In other parallel universes, the Ancient One hadn't considered this, likely due to Wanda's instability.

And the slight drawbacks of Chaos Magic.

Chaos Magic was the source of all magic in the Marvel universe.

The ultimate product of black and white magic combined.

The power every mage coveted.

Only two beings in the Marvel multiverse wielded it.

Wanda, across various parallel universes.

And Chthon, the Elder God of Earth, creator of the Darkhold.

The potency of Chaos Magic was undeniable.

If Wanda mastered Vishanti magic and studied the Darkhold…

…she could become the most powerful mage in the multiverse.

Unstoppable.

That was the Ancient One's concern.

Kaiser's arrival had drastically altered the future the Ancient One foresaw.

The timeline of this universe had shifted significantly.

Countless outcomes branched out.

Yet, few were particularly disastrous.

After meeting Kaiser in person, the Ancient One dismissed her earlier suspicions.

He was no dimensional demon.

Rather, he was likely a god…

…reborn on Earth through Wanda's Chaos Magic.

Kaiser radiated potent divinity.

His status was remarkably high.

He even carried traces of creation's power... a sensation she'd only felt in the presence of Eternity.

Thus, she was willing to place a heavy bet on Wanda.

"Oh?" Kaiser said, snapping back to attention. "You've made up your mind?"

Truth be told, the Sanctum Sanctorum was an ideal place for Wanda to unlock her potential.

Chaos Magic combined with the Sanctum's spellbooks would yield results greater than the sum of their parts.

It would undeniably boost Wanda's strength.

And the Sorcerer Supreme came with an Infinity Stone.

A major boon for Kaiser's future plans.

"Of course." The Ancient One affirmed. "The Time Stone can be passed to Wanda."

Having seen the future timelines, she knew the allure of the Infinity Stones for Kaiser.

She was confident he wouldn't refuse her offer.

Nor would Wanda.

"Wanda, would you like to learn magic?" Kaiser asked, turning to her.

"Magic? Yes!" Wanda's eyes lit up.

"Alright, Wanda can succeed as Sorcerer Supreme." Kaiser said.

"But she must live a normal life... school, friends, education."

"The Sanctum has a temple in New York, doesn't it?"

"We can live there."

Seeing Wanda's agreement, Kaiser added his conditions.

"Agreed." The Ancient One replied, a smile crossing her face.

Securing a stable Wanda and a potential god was a win for the Sanctum.

Pietro, too, showed promise, though he lacked magical aptitude.

Barely a week after settling, they began relocating.

With the Ancient One's help, it was seamless.

"I wonder what Cosmo, magic, and Chaos Magic combined will produce." Kaiser mused.

He was eager to see Wanda's future achievements.

Barring surprises, this universe's Wanda could become a top-tier multiversal powerhouse.

Her baseline would be Skyfather-level.

A fully awakened Wanda with Chaos Magic was already at that level.

As for Pietro, his path was less certain.

His physical strength needed to improve.

Otherwise, he could be taken out by a mere bullet.

A speedster killed by a gun?

That'd be embarrassing.

Time flowed on.

It was now 2008.

Wanda had grown considerably.

In the Sanctum, her power outstripped all but the Ancient One.

Kaiser's strength had also recovered significantly.

He'd reached the Seventh Sense.

Due to this world's differing rules, adjustments were needed.

But at the Seventh Sense, Kaiser wielded Skyfather-level combat power.

"Your recovery is astonishingly fast." The Ancient One remarked, observing Kaiser.

In ten years, he'd steadily entered Skyfather territory.

It reinforced her belief that he was a god.

This bolstered her confidence in facing future crises.

"Hm?" Kaiser's attention was drawn to a rainbow streaking across the sky.

"What's that?"

"Divinity?"

"A god has been exiled."

Kaiser knew who it was.

Thor, heir of Asgard.

Marvel's gods differed greatly from those in Saint Seiya.

Thor seemed powerful.

But with Kaiser's current Seventh Sense Cosmo, he could dominate him.

His focus, however, was on Asgard's artifacts.

Acquiring and analyzing their divinity would further enhance his strength.

This was why Kaiser saw the Marvel universe as a treasure trove.

"Going to check it out?" The Ancient One asked.

She'd seen the future and knew Kaiser would seek out Thor.

"Asgard holds great value for me." Kaiser replied.

"It can boost my strength."

"It's an opportunity."

"And… Odin's time is running out."

"Based on his current energy fluctuations…"

"…he has less than twenty years left."

Kaiser gazed at the sky.

Asgard's palace sat atop the World Tree, shining across the Nine Realms.

Odin's power blazed like a sun, awe-inspiring and terrifying.

"Exaggerated power." Kaiser thought, marveling.

Odin's current strength rivaled a first-class god in the Saint Seiya world.

Roughly on par with a standalone deity.

But in a true fight, Odin wouldn't stand a chance.

His energy was there, but his physical form lagged far behind.

In his current state, he had one good fight left.

After that, energy backlash would send him straight to Marvel's Valhalla.

"Go." The Ancient One said. "I'll explain to Wanda."

The stronger Kaiser grew, the better equipped they'd be for future crises.

"Where are you going?" Wanda asked, returning just then.

"New Mexico." Kaiser replied, patting her head with a smile.

"There's something I need there."

"Want me to come?" Wanda asked, curious.

In her mind, Kaiser was an angel, a god... her protector.

He'd never left her side.

Him going off alone felt strange.

"Don't worry, it's fine." Kaiser reassured her.

"Keep training diligently at the Sanctum." Kaiser told Wanda.

"Your Chaos Magic is half-awakened."

"Combined with your magical prowess, you're already at sub-Skyfather level."

"Once your Chaos Magic fully awakens, you can take the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme."

"Only then can you truly assist me."

Wanda nodded. "I understand."

Years had passed, and she'd grown up.

She knew Kaiser existed through her Chaos Magic.

If she withdrew it, he would vanish.

The thought of Kaiser disappearing filled her with dread.

What if a battle drained her Chaos Magic?

Could she still sustain him?

Even if her Chaos Magic recovered, would the recreated being still be Kaiser?

She desperately wanted to make him a true, independent being.

Through years of research, Wanda had found a viable path.

The Infinity Stones.

Her studies revealed their existence.

Born during the Big Bang, these gems held world-shattering power.

Legend said collecting all six could rewrite the universe in an instant.

This gave Wanda hope.

"I'm heading out. Train hard." Kaiser said, leaving the New York Sanctum.

Wanda wasn't too worried about his safety.

As his Master, she knew his strength better than anyone.

If Kaiser fought at full power, she estimated her Chaos Magic would be drained in three hours.

"Don't worry." The Ancient One said, seeing Wanda's expression. "Kaiser is a god you pulled from the void. He's powerful. He'll be fine."

"I know." Wanda replied, her voice low. "I just fear becoming a burden to him."

She couldn't imagine life without Kaiser.

"Then grow stronger." The Ancient One advised, patting her shoulder.

"Kaiser's current power isn't his peak."

"I can sense he's immensely strong."

"Even if your Chaos Magic awakens to Skyfather level, you may not fully recreate his power."

"Don't worry." Wanda said, resolute. "Once I collect all the Infinity Stones, every problem will be solved."

She vowed it silently.

Meanwhile, Kaiser arrived at the site where Mjolnir had fallen.

"So, this is Mjolnir?" He murmured, curiosity flickering in his eyes as he gazed at the hammer resting on the ground.

He reached out to grasp it, testing if he could lift it.

Hum!

Divine power surged.

The skies churned, clouds swirling.

"What a powerful divine seal." Kaiser remarked, sensing the hammer's energy.

"That Odin…"

He released Mjolnir, and the sky calmed.

Kaiser detected a formidable sealing force within the hammer.

It seemed anyone worthy could lift it and claim the power of Thor.

But it was immovable.

Unless one's strength surpassed Odin's.

Only Thor could lift it.

Odin's intent was to teach Thor a lesson, not destroy him.

In the original story, Mjolnir flew to Thor when he was gravely injured, proving it was merely a trial from a father to his son.

Kaiser didn't leave. He settled in a nearby town.

The hammer's phenomenon had drawn attention.

Many tried to lift Mjolnir, all failing without exception.

Until S.H.I.E.L.D. arrived, cordoning off the site.

"Here he comes…" Kaiser sensed a faint divinity.

Weak, sealed, but unmistakable.

"I need to get my hammer!" Thor roared, furious.

Cast to Earth and stripped of his power, he was in agony.

"We've located your hammer." Jane Foster said, eyeing the heavily guarded site.

"But Earth has its rules. If you go now, you'll just get caught."

"What do I do then?" Thor demanded, desperate to reclaim his power.

"I suggest you hold off." Kaiser interjected, cutting through Thor's urgency.

"What do you mean?" Thor frowned, not recognizing Kaiser.

"You know who I am?"

"Even if you reach Mjolnir now, you can't reclaim your power." Kaiser said, sipping a drink casually.

"I observed it when Mjolnir fell."

"There's a powerful seal on it."

"It seems you've been exiled by Odin."

Thor's expression shifted. "Damn it! Who are you? How do you know this?"

Jane Foster and her assistant exchanged shocked glances.

Someone actually knew this lunatic?

"I can tell." Kaiser said.

"There's a strong seal within you too."

"With your divine power sealed, you're just a slightly stronger mortal."

"If you don't want to die, don't be reckless."

"You can help me?" Thor asked.

He wasn't foolish, just accustomed to solving problems with brute force.
