The moment he saw the creature's true face. His heart hammered in his chest. Before him stood a massive beast that looked like a giant dog , but not just any dog. It was as tall as a horse, its huge form casting a dark shadow over the ground.
What made his blood run cold were it's eyes. The shadows in them deepened, glowing brighter and more menacing than before. Slowly, The creature began to advance, its gaze locked onto the boy like a predator stalking its prey.
His mind speak its own, Run!
If you don't run now, you'll die here.
The thought slammed into his mind like a thunderclap. The beast stepped closer, each movement deliberate, heavy, and echoing like a countdown to death. Then something deep within him snapped awake. (pure survival instinct)
He turned and ran. There was no plan. No direction. Just raw fear propelling his legs forward. Branches tore at his skin, the cold night air burned his lungs, and his heart felt like it might explode. But he didn't stop. He didn't dare look back. Because some part of him knew...
If he did, he wouldn't survive.
"Damn why am I so unlucky "
But luck wasn't on his side, beast was faster.
In an instant, it closed the distance. A monstrous claw came crashing down toward the boy's neck, aimed to kill.
Crack—!
Pain exploded through his body as the claw grazed him, ripping across his flesh. He didn't even have time to scream. His body stumbled forward, blood pouring from a deep gash in his neck. The impact should've ended him right there. But something pure, desperate instinct had made him tilt his body just in time. Adrenaline was kicking in.
"Is it still following me? Dammit, please just few more minutes "
He survived. Barely;
" I am feeling dizzy now but I can't give up just like that; I want to live , So I can't die right now"
His vision were blurred, breath ragged, legs trembling. but he kept running. Each heartbeat felt like it could be his last. He stumbled through the trees, blood painting a trail behind him. Just ahead, through the mist and moonlight, he saw it. - An old church, isolated on the edge of town. Its worn stone walls stood like a relic from another era, silent and watching. He dragged his broken body forward, hope flickering in his eyes.
" Finally A church , I managed to survived from this hell "
But he was wrong at this moment, it was too late.
The beast charged.
Before he could react, its massive claw slammed into his back, tearing through flesh and bone with sickening force. The blow launched him through the air like a ragdoll.
CRACK—!
His skull struck the church wall with a sickening thud. The world went black. He collapsed at the foot of the church, blood soaking into the earth beneath .
"So this is how my pathetic life ends? What a disgrace i turned out be, sorry father and mother, I couldn't come home tonight."
He was on the brink of dead. The boy's eyes glazed over, lifeless, ready to sleep for eternity. But in that final flicker of consciousness, something snapped. His shattered mind twisted.
The pain was disappeared, not because the wounds had healed, but because something inside him no longer cared. Instead, he felt a strange, euphoric joy. Blood flowed freely from his chest, painting the ground in red, but an adrenaline surge slowed everything for just a moment… long enough. He started to laugh like a crazy person. The beast was ready, it lunged it's fangs wide, ready to end it with a final blow.
But he moved.
Not by reflex… by something sharper. He slipped right through the creature's blind spot not by luck, but a skill born in death itself. He snatched up a sharp stone from the ground and swung it at the beast's head. The creature twisted away, dodging the blow with inhuman grace.
"Die you trash beast"
The beast leapt again and show it's claws flashing like blades to rush towards him,But he grinned.
"Let's gamble my life here; shall we? "
Instead of retreating, he charged into the attack. And just as the claws were about to shred through his skull, He dropped. Slid low under the blow, inches from death.
" Damn this beast is built like an immovable wall, i can feel my body limit, I need to retreat as soon as possible "
" Without thought he rush towards the church window, With one final burst of strength, he lunged. "
CRASH!...
Glass shattered around him as he tumbled through...
Blood splattered across the cold stone floor,
painting a trail of agony behind him. His body couldn't take it anymore. He collapsed; Motionless, soaked in his own blood, limbs twisted and torn, his body finally gave out.
Outside the shattered window, the beast paused, then slowly stepped inside. Its shadow stretched across the church walls like the arrival of death itself. It moved with purpose, eyes locked on the boy, ready to drag him into eternal darkness. But ,the people were attracted to the noise.
Footsteps.
Multiple people rushed. Echoing through the sacred halls. Voices followed. Doors opened.
A group of townsfolk ,priests, and villagers rushed toward the noise. The creature halted. It turned it's head looking at the noise of the people, filled with anger. And then… it vanished. Slipped into the dark, leaving behind only a cold silence. When the people reached the scene, their eyes widened in horror. Massive claw prints littered the floor, inhuman and deep. But worse was the sight at the center of the trail:
"The boy, unmoving and covered in blood gather the people attention."
At the sight, Someone finally dare to whispered, voice trembling with fear:
"He's dead… at the hands of a demonic beast"
But the boy was still conscious and hearing about people thoughts !....
