Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Kamigoroshi

Kyle was surrounded by black flames, his eyes white and his aura vast.

All the Metsuju members woke up and saw Kyle in this powerful form. Meanwhile, Kyle had only one thought: kill suiryu. He didn't think about anything else. He launched straight at Suiryu, ignoring the Metsuju members. The explosion from the impact was massive, and everyone nearby was thrown away.

Grandpa Caesar was spitting blood but smiling.

"HE DID IT! THE SECOND FORM! HE AWAKENED IT!" Grandpa Caesar shouted.

Oni was smiling silently, simply happy. Lucy felt relieved. Ace was amazed. Noah was glad he had believed in Kyle and joined Metsuju. The Tao brothers Rico, Kai, and Akira observed closely. They remembered seeing someone use this form before. Master Tao had used it to fight the Cursed Dragon.

Kyle was overwhelming Suiryu. He created two massive hands made purely of hellfire, grabbed Suiryu, and slammed him down, destroying an area the size of the Sky Fortress. The shockwaves reached the Metsuju members again.

Meanwhile, the Sky Knights had healed the civilians. They came to where Kyle was fighting Suiryu and were stunned by his power. Then they noticed the Metsuju members and approached them.

Suiryu screamed. The sky split apart as he rose into the air. Thunder surrounded him as he formed lightning bolts and hurled them at Kyle. Kyle didn't care. He went straight through them, gathered hellflames in his fists, and punched Suiryu into the ground. This time, the explosion shook the sky. The dense clouds below tore apart and began slowly collapsing.

The Sky Knights explained to Lucy what had happened earlier and how Kyle had saved them. But the Sky Fortress was collapsing because of the impacts.

"We have to evacuate the Sky people through a hidden passage, but it's sealed and won't open."

The Metsuju members saw the sky collapsing and the ground breaking apart through the dense clouds. They agreed to evacuate everyone. They reached a massive gate.

Grandpa Caesar kicked it open with sheer strength.

The passage led to a mountain peak formed of dense clouds. They began evacuating the Sky people through it.

Meanwhile, on the battlefield, Suiryu lay on the ground, staring at Kyle. Fog spread around him. His eyes turned cyan. His body began expanding. The entire sky split apart from the transformation.

This was the true form of the God of Sky.

Zenithelos.

He struck Kyle with a lightning bolt. Kyle stumbled. Immediately after, Zenithelos launched a fist made of compressed air into Kyle's chest, sending him flying. Then a wave of pure thunder struck Kyle, destroying half of the dense cloud layer below. A portion of the Sky God's land fell to the ground.

Kyle was still standing. His hellfire flared hotter. He aimed his hand at Suiryu and launched five fireballs. They struck him, but he tanked the hits and charged forward. He palm-struck Kyle, and Kyle countered with a kick against his palm.

Their attacks collided in a massive explosion. The land beneath the Sky Fortress broke apart and fell.

They clashed several more times. Suiryu began overwhelming Kyle. Kyle backed up. From his black aura, four large orbs emerged. He clenched his fists and unleashed his signature attack Fury of Punches. Many strikes landed on Suiryu, sending him flying. But before hitting the ground, Suiryu drew his blade and swung it, releasing a massive air slash. It heavily injured Kyle, even in that form, and cut through a huge portion of dense clouds.

Kyle nearly fell but steadied himself and launched a Scorch Lance at Suiryu.

Suiryu deflected it and lunged forward with lightning-fast punches. He launched Kyle into the air, then followed him, using his wings to accelerate. His sword glowed with lightning. He slashed Kyle across the chest, sending him crashing into the Sky Fortress.

The fortress was completely destroyed, debris flying hundreds of meters away.

The falling debris nearly struck the Sky people, but Opium and Osric saved them and evacuated them to the mountain peak.

Meanwhile, Doderach the divine entity who had once appeared to kill Noah had not died. As a divine being, he could not kill innocents, so he had withdrawn. Now he returned with 70% of his power to punish Suiryu for his actions. But after sensing the cursed energy within him, Doderach knew punishment wasn't enough Suiryu had to die.

However, if Suiryu died, the sky itself would collapse.

Then Doderach observed Kyle. He realized Kyle could kill immortals and bind their cores to himself. If Kyle bound Suiryu's core, the sky would remain stable. And Kyle was pure-hearted.

Kyle lay amidst the ruins of the Sky Fortress. Suddenly, divine light surrounded him.

Time stopped.

He saw Doderach. He looked at his own body lying still. Everything was frozen mid-air even Suiryu.

"Kyle," Doderach spoke. "You must kill this god. You unlocked your second form to defeat him, but he is twice as strong as you in that form. You cannot overpower him."

Doderach placed his hand on Kyle's chest, transferring divine energy.

"This will keep you conscious while fighting in that form. If you want to defeat him, use your ability He-Ryo. Use this divine Roh to purify his heart. It will remove the curse and kill him. After that, extract his core."

"Thank you… whoever you are. But why are you helping me?" Kyle asked.

"It is obvious. I am a divine entity. My duty is to handle gods."

Time resumed. Suiryu launched a rumbling lightning sphere at Kyle.

Kyle dodged and charged forward. Suiryu nearly stabbed him, but Kyle activated He-Ryo. In this form, it worked more efficiently. It caught Suiryu off guard. Kyle immediately performed Ryo, transferring divine Roh into Suiryu's heart, purifying the curse.

Suiryu screamed and kicked Kyle away, then attacked him ruthlessly. Kyle had to perform it two more times.

Instead of brawling in the air, Kyle retreated and slammed a pillar into Suiryu's head. He followed with a kick, though Suiryu managed to slash Kyle's abdomen.

Kyle had remained in this form for too long. His body ached. His core weakened. But he pushed through the pain. He palm-struck Suiryu again, using Ryo once more and transferring divine energy, sending him flying.

Kyle collapsed from exhaustion. His form vanished. Half-dead, he crawled toward Suiryu.

Suiryu was screaming in agony. His true form had vanished. He was back to normal. His veins glowed, heat burning beneath his skin.

Kyle placed his hand on Suiryu's chest one final time.

He performed Ryo.

Suiryu died. His body slowly vanished.

Kyle stood up, grabbed what remained, and extracted his core.

The Sky Fortress was still falling.

Kyle bound the core to himself.

The sky stabilized.

But the Sky Fortress continued falling and so did Kyle.

"I finally killed him."

He had become a God killer now.

Kamigoroshi.

He felt Suiryu's core within him.

He felt… godly.

"So this is what it feels like… to carry the sky."

He closed his eyes, falling in peace

.

Oni caught him mid-air and carried him to a cave in the mountains.
