Chapter 14 - Chapter 14 A New Era

Audrey pinched her cheek, and after confirming she wasn't dreaming, her eyes sparkled, and the corners of her mouth curved upwards little by little. She couldn't help but stand up and curtsy to the air, holding her skirt.

The golden-haired young lady, light-footed and joyful, began to dance the popular "Ancient Elven Dance" of the current court in her room.

However, the young lady didn't notice that her reflection in the mirror didn't dance with her; instead, it gently shook its head.

"The Elven Dance isn't like that."

"But it's well danced."

Xia Ai'er commented as he watched the young lady dancing gracefully outside the mirror.

He had no interest in staying in the other party's spiritual world. As a special virtual personality, he naturally possessed the characteristics of a man in the mirror.

Thump! Thump!

A knocking sound came from the door.

Audrey's personal maid, Annie, entered after receiving permission. She looked at Audrey and smiled, "Which dress would you like to wear?"

"I like the dress I wore for my seventeenth birthday," Audrey said after thinking for a moment.

"No, that would make others think the Hall family is facing a financial crisis. How can one dress be worn twice in public?" Annie decisively shook her head.

Xia Ai'er was not interested in the private life of the noble young lady. He gently raised his hand, and the surface of the bronze mirror shimmered, creating an illusion that sealed off the world within the mirror.

"Are there so many Beyonders in the Hall family?"

"Although none of them can fight."

Xia Ai'er no longer paid attention to the outside world. The strongest person in the villa was merely a Sequence 6 Beyonder, who couldn't detect his existence at all.

What he needed to do most now was to replenish his spirituality and power.

He also needed to understand everything about this era.

"Arrodes."

Xia Ai'er drew a mysterious rune symbolizing Arrodes. His current spiritual body was already filled with the power of the "magic mirror." This "magical" mirror couldn't possibly fail to find him.

"Xia Ai'er? Is that you?"

In the mirror world, silver Elvish runes appeared out of thin air.

"It's me. You know me, so it seems this isn't a parallel world. Later, package and send me a copy of the common languages of various countries in the Fifth Epoch and all sorts of common knowledge. Then, help me replenish my spiritual consumption."

"Can I ask what happened? Where is the me of this era?"

Xia Ai'er asked directly after sensing the familiar aura.

"You answered my question. Now it's my turn to answer yours."

"This is the Fifth Epoch, approximately two thousand five hundred years after the Age of Strife."

"You are the Uniqueness; there is no second you."

Lines of silver characters appeared.

"Is that so?"

There's no me in this era?

Then I'm dead?

The Age of Gods is indeed terrifying.

Xia Ai'er's emotions were still stable.

If he's dead, he's dead. It's not a big problem.

Arrodes was very helpful. Silver light enveloped Xia Ai'er, transmitting data while also helping Xia Ai'er recover his spirit and spirituality.

There was no other way; only living Beyonders could recover their spirituality on their own. Various spirit bodies and undead could only maintain their existence by relying on the power of the Spirit World and the Underworld.

He raised his right arm, which was already almost completely transparent, and began to browse some information about this era.

Arrodes did not provide information about the Fourth Epoch, the things Xia Ai'er would experience in the past's future and the future's past.

Xia Ai'er also didn't ask. He still wanted to maintain a certain reverence for the unknown, and what happened in the Fourth Epoch? Wouldn't it be clear by looking at the Fifth Epoch?

"Former Archbishop of the Night Church, Ince Zangwill, stole the Night Church's Sealed Artifact 0-08 and defected?"

Xia Ai'er's mouth twitched as he looked at this message. Did he die young?

The current world pattern of the Fifth Epoch was basically the same as what he understood. Did he not make a name for himself in the Fourth Epoch at all?

"I cannot tell you the location of that pen; otherwise, it will know."

Arrodes saw Xia Ai'er's thoughts, and new lines of text appeared.

It had its limits and could not answer questions involving True Gods and Uniqueness. If it involved the Angel level, it might also be noticed, and the answers could even be tampered with or obscured.

"It's okay, I know where it might be."

At this moment, Xia Ai'er had some understanding. He might not have done nothing in the Fourth Epoch. Retaining a certain amount of known plot was itself a major advantage for a transmigrator, wasn't it?

"It seems I should resurrect."

"If I'm already dead in the Fifth Epoch, then I always have to come back to life."

"Do you have any recommendations for a resurrection vessel?"

Xia Ai'er didn't have any good candidates for this. He could only think of taking over the unfortunate Viscount Glaint.

The light screen in front of him paused for a moment.

Immediately, a large amount of data was projected.

Xia Ai'er looked at it. Most of these were lists of inconspicuous characters who had recently died in Backlund, and some were Beyonders who had consumed Beyonder potions.

Most of the information provided by Arrodes was about young male minor nobles and some middle-class individuals.

These people enjoyed a certain social status, possessed a certain amount of knowledge and wealth, and would not easily enter the sight of Church Saints or Royal Family Angels.

Xia Ai'er raised an eyebrow after seeing one of the profiles. This one would be a good temporary identity.

The younger son of Councilor Maynard of Tingen City. His father was a strong contender for the next mayor of Tingen City, his Mother was the daughter of a New Party bigwig, and he had an older brother who was actively trying to participate in Loen politics, though their relationship was only average. He himself had a strong interest in mysticism.

The cause of death was... wanting to keep a Demoness of Despair? And wanting to lock her in the basement, preventing her from interacting with other men?

"Kid, you've got guts. I approve of you."

Xia Ai'er moved his gradually recovering body and said with a smile, "While the target isn't completely dead yet, we should go there early."

"I don't have the ability to revive the dead."

Water ripples flowed across the silver screen, gradually displaying a scene.

In a slightly dim basement, a young man lay on the ground. His limbs twitched uncontrollably, and a fair, small foot was stepping on his head, its toes slightly spread, as if strolling through a park.

"If this Demoness doesn't leave, how am I supposed to log in?"

"Arrodes, camera up."

Xia Ai'er frowned slightly. If this Demoness didn't leave, it would be quite troublesome.

The perspective of the light screen began to move upwards, passing over the un-censored parts, revealing a Demoness wearing a loose robe, with smooth, fair skin and loosely tied hair, appearing somewhat languid in temperament.

Lines of quicksilver-colored descriptions were annotated beside her.

"Despair Nightingale" Pannatia, Sequence 4, Demoness of Despair, one of the leaders of the Demoness Cult in Backlund.
