A week later, the final 500 students were informed of their acceptance into the trials. It was the weekend, and Hani was working in the cafe as always. The atmosphere here had gotten friendly over the months as the regulars got to know Hani.
"Hani, I hear the trials are starting soon. Since you come from the elite school, will you be participating?" one of her regulars asked, an old but lively man she called Mr Huo.
"Yes, I am looking forward to it. It is my last year to participate, so it's a bit sad, but I am making the best of it, Mr Huo!" Hani grinned, wiping up the table next to him.
"Good, good. I remember the good old days when I was your age! I even managed to win the grand prize on one of my attempts!" Mr Huo laughed, reminiscing about the glory days.
"Wow, really? Then you must be an amazing fighter! Were you a hero?" Hani was shocked to hear this from Mr Huo, who usually seemed like a funny old man who loved to chat.
