The next day My father wakes Rain and I up and says, "Since your both are starting to grow up at tremendously fast paces you are going to need to refine these skills. You need to refine your magic and further yet you need to refine your mind,body and soul. I am going to have to get you boys ready for school you are going to get insanely strong as fast as you can to be prepared. We have 6 years until you have to go. Alright! Oni your mother has that demon core ready for you!"
"Alright dad I'll go and do it now." I then walk towards my moms room stretching and yawning, "Hey mom I'm here!" "Good good here take it I have it right here" she says she grabs this black chunk of demon core.
They say sometime around your sixth year alive the demon core tells you if you are going to be the next demon lord if you aren't given one at birth then you'll never receive one. I go to grab this chunk and once I eat it I am sent into some kind of trance I start to see myself in I blank area. I call out nothing… not even an echo. Suddenly I start to see all the different colors of the world and all the different shades of colors without warning a dark violet purple void appeared and cloaked the entire area it swirled it looked as if whatever this entity was, it seemed to be the ruler of this land. The pattern within the void was mesmerizing, yet unsettling.
"BEHOLD!" A warrior appeared from the purple area in a swirl he was wearing very unusual set of armor every peice seemed to flow into each other. They seemed to be completely in sync with this warrior. "My name is RAPAHTA! The Previous Demon Lord! I have come here to inform you that Oni Revenet you shall become the next demon lord candidate but first you must pass some minimum requirements you need to grow much stronger but be warned in this world true power doesn't come without vast suffering. In this world strength is on a completely different level. You will soon understand whenever you go to school. But for now we shall do a you vs you trial this is where you fight yourself and as you start to learn different abilities so will your clone it is exactly like you and in a sense you will gain double the experience because I made this clone out of a small piece of your soul. The world that surrounds us is full of spiritual magic this world is just waiting to hit its peak. As a Demon Lord immense strength is needed not only for the purpose of fighting, but also to create. Where the world around us is still young. It is our job as the strong too explore and create new things make life more pleasurable environment for everyone living in our kingdom when you become Demon Lord. Now, let's begin the Battle of You versus You."
Before I could say or ask something Raphata threw something that looked like clay but the moment it landed infront of me I looked at it and suddenly it started bubbling vigorously. This purple mist is really hard for me to see in it's like he wants me to struggle! What was it that he said a you vs you? What kinda training is that? All of a sudden the clay was no longer clay and was a person attacking me!
"Mother Nature!" Vines of the earth grab me and slam me into the ground hard I felt a few bones break and I'm pretty sure I already have a concussion. This fight is not going in my favor I have to think fast but what? "I GOT IT! PYROKENESIS!" The purple flames swallowed the vines whole letting me back on my feet ready to fight but before i could gather my senses fully I hear "VELVET ARROW!" Suddenly out of the purple mist a crimson rock shot out towards me it was about the length of a dagger. "Ughtht shit that fucking hurt!" It hit me in my liver that's a fatal wound! I'm not sure if this is the end but I do know that this is what dying feels like this is my second time after all. I crumple to my knees and the last thing I see is my face and then another crimson arrow going straight through my skull. I am for sure dead but somehow I'm still conscious. My soul… there's something happening to it. Inside my chest I feel what's almost like someone writing that I just died again, but on my soul. Is this going to change me? How will I be affected? Raphata never told me what would happen if i failed this test.
"You didn't fail you idiot." I hear Raphatas voice but I can't see him. "You are very dead right now though. But I am about to bring you back you are going to be a bit stronger when you come back but only at half potential because well I just resurrected you." "Wait a minute I'm dead! But your gonna resurrect me how does that work? You gonna sacrifice some people or what?"
"Though that's how we prefer it done our priestess has spoken against it and she has cried because of it. Now that being said those tears of her's are extremely special. One singular drop can bring a demon back to life. Now as you know they are important so using them on you better be worth it." Raphata then walked towards my body, knelt down and dropped a single tear onto my forehead. All of a sudden my body was encloaked in this purple aura I could feel my heart starting to beat again. Eventually I regained consciousness but when i opened my eyes my vision was significantly clearer the fog wasn't even an issue with this vision. On top of that my limbs felt significantly lighter but I could also tell that if I was properly rested I'd be even stronger than I am right now! "Welp have a good day" says Raphatta as he kicks me out of the astral plain. By the way i literally meant this man kicked me so hard I was forced out the astral plain.
Back in the real world it was like I pressed unpause on reality and I just walked out of my mom's room.
"Oniii! We gotta train hurry up slow ass!" Shouts Rain. As me and Rain walked out into the training field I told him about everything that happened to me. "So what your telling me is that I'm about to kick your ass cuz you just died."
"Nahhhhh it is not about to go down like that I'll show you what I can do. But I am curious on what magic you will use against me."
All Rain does is smile and pull out his uzuka(the blades made in nullify village) instead of the sigils glowing red they were shimmering blue. "Rain why are the sigils blue?" Oh so basically after practicing with this blade a bit last night i figured out that there are 10 different colors switching between strength, sharpness weight size magic. The other 5 are going to be unlocked depending on how fast my strength grows."
"Ahhh so the stronger you get the stronger your uzuka gets as well. Good to know. Now enough talking let's see what your made of!"
The duals of this world are different when you fight you have to give it your all until one surrenders or dies.
As Rain and I get to our designated Spots I looked at the distance between us and estimated it to be about 75 feet apart. We were standing in a small arena of sorts. Now the time has begun for us to fight. I cast some small pryo magic around my finger then shout "You ready for this ass whopping Rain!"
"In your dreams bitch!" He replies then spins his uzuka which makes the air around it shift and shimmer almost like a mirage. After we were done showing off and talking shit we then began our fight! Me and Rain then start running towards each other but right before we clashed Raphatta appears in front on Rain my father and I then says that he wants Rain and I to fight to the death and whichever one wins would receive a reward. As the previous demon lord we must oblige by his commands he then says "Do not worry they will be revived if they die." A look of relief appeared on his face then says "I knew you wouldn't let my sons die I also see the mass potential in both of them!"
Raphatta then shouts "Now fight!"
Rain lunges towards me with a fast attack I dodge it and cast Mother Nature
He slices the vines in 8 pieces with 3 swings. His blade is magnificent I think to myself. But I'm going to have to be cautious about my distance between him and me. I know he has magic so I'm also going to have to account for that. I know what my next move is going to be "EREDISCENT FOG!" I shout. He's blinded for a split second so I have to act fast "crimson arrow." I whisper which because i did i couldn't hit a fatal blow because im still a novice. It hit Rain in the left shoulder. Then he ran straight at me the aura around him was incredible this adrenaline rushing through my body is inane! I cannot wait any longer I then shadow step right behind Rain and smash his face into the ground. He reacts fast and slices my face deeply. Rain then rushes again or so I thought but when he cut me he used magic in it and I didn't realize till now this isn't good that means the Rain coming at me right now is a decoy I look 45 degrees to my right hold my hand out and shout "CRIMSON ARROW!" This time I see blood plain as day. I got him good this time hit him in the lower abdomen so itll still take time for him to bleed out so I have to make sure I pay attention to how he's angled or else my head could come off. I see his uzuka flair blood red Rain then stabs the ground and I was brought to the ground for a split second out of surprise to the mass pressure released. Rain wasted no time and sliced my hand off it hurt like hell but there now way in hell I was giving up and now I'm pissed. I then cast 4 spells in simulation the first was crystillian which created pillars behind him. The next was Mother Nature which tied and held him the the magic canceling crystals. I then shadow stepped towards him and cast crimson arrow which blew his head clean off. The fight I had in the astral plain most definitely helped me out in the long run. I then pass out from exhaustion. But before I do I say "Please take care of Rain."
When I wake back up it's the next day I take my morning demon core and once I eat it I sink into the astral plain and Raphatta throws me a vile of something and he says "You know what it is do with it as you please. But if one of you get killed then run with their body and use that you guys are going to make on hell of a tag team." Then he waves his hand and I'm back like i never left. I then talk to Rain about how his first resurrection felt like. He described it almost exactly like mine except the smoke around him was a dark blue. That was very odd to me. My next question to him was on how we should train going forward when I then say "You know we don't have to Continuously fight each other we could be vigilantes in the night. What if we took down stronger opponents and if one of us dies we just run and resurrect each other and try again another time."
He looks at me with an evil grin and says " Ohhhh most definitely going to kick some ass! But how are we going to choose our targets?" I think for a second then say"I figured we target those who in our eyes don't deserve to live under me and my domain. I mean I get we are demons but that doesn't mean you can just be disgusting and or cruel."
He looks at me and nods his head in agreement we then go out later that night in search of our first target we posted up on the rooftops listening for anything that might pick up our interest.
