Chapter 4 - You're the Best Option

Everything began when Triex, one of the invaders attempting to break into the human dome, manipulated his flames. He struck a pose, forming a circle with his hands, and the flames rose, surrounding him in a burning dome. With a flick of the wrist, he pointed directly at Jean. The fire shot in the direction he aimed, launching a devastating burst.

But Jean dodged it, thanks to the reflexes granted by his sword, Draswon.

Then Sol appeared, flying close to Jean. She shouted, "We're giving you time to leave!" Just then, a purple field emerged around them. Triex sneered, yelling, "Go to hell! We'll never accept this garbage!" The field suddenly expanded, slowing down everyone trapped inside.

Jean and Sol were caught, their movements turning sluggish—almost paralyzed.

Triex took advantage of the opportunity, firing flames at them with the intent to burn them alive. But Anderson, watching from a distance, managed to react in time. Using his unique power of telekinesis, he shoved them out of the field's range.

Sol had the concept of the sun.

Meanwhile, Just, Triex's companion, placed a hand on Triex's shoulder and whispered that they should flee and inform their leader. Triex refused—he said he was preparing to summon "him." At that moment, chunks of earth rained down on them—launched by Anderson.

His telekinesis, a power classified by a Creator as a body variation, allowed for ranged control of matter.

While Anderson launched his attacks, Sol analyzed the purple field. She suspected it was a reality-based technique that manipulated time. Given the large area it covered, she figured the cost to maintain it was high—slowing down enemies, but likely limiting the user's own movement too.

Jean noted that attacks didn't seem to affect Anderson or the fire user. That meant only those inside the field were affected—a known weakness.

But when Sol looked again, the field still hadn't disappeared. The user wasn't moving, either. That meant there had to be some hidden advantage, something she couldn't figure out yet.

While Anderson fended off the fire attacks from Triex, he realized Triex was landing every hit precisely. Anderson blocked and reflected them with telekinesis but knew he couldn't keep it up forever. He began lifting earth to shield against the fire.

At first, it didn't work. Then Triex screamed, "Cowards! Come out!"

Suddenly, Sol dashed forward, summoned her mass, and transformed it into a fusion weapon: a solar sword. With her power, she increased in size and strength, launching solar bursts in all directions, targeting the one controlling the field.

That user realized the danger and tried to flee but knew it would break some kind of deal or contract. Before he could move, Anderson crushed him.

"I thought he was special," Anderson said, looking down at the body. "But after seeing you, Sol, and how calculating you are, I realized it wasn't a counterattack—he was just weak."

"I had him!" Sol yelled in frustration. She was hit with a fire burst but wasn't significantly harmed. She absorbed the fire with ease—though the force of the blast nearly knocked her out.

Knowing things were getting out of hand, Triex told Just to buy him time and use all his energy. Though Anderson tried to stop him, Triex was able to dissolve the counterattack.

Triex now wore a cocky grin. He knew he would die—but also that he could unlock a limitless phase, dramatically increasing his power.

He raised his leg, and flames swirled around him like a burning cloud."Fight me first, you bastards! I'll show you why you shouldn't underestimate me!" he shouted. He flicked his wrist, turning the fire into a ring around him."Come on, dogs! I'll feed you today!" he growled, provoking Anderson.

Jean lunged forward with a direct strike. He was met by a concentrated fire blast through the ring—shocking Anderson. Sol didn't react immediately but calculated that Triex's ring attack might be automated.

Sol activated her fire-absorption mode, aware it was a risky gamble. If she failed, she'd burn through her physical stamina and endurance.

Meanwhile, Anderson attacked again with telekinesis, guessing Triex was using a similar technique to the field-user earlier.

But Triex changed tactics: he violently broke the connection between human, power, and form, causing his own ability to collapse. This cost him a great deal of energy and stamina—but it also shattered the ring of fire, which required immense mental focus.

Sol realized she had predicted correctly: the ring was likely automatic, but she hadn't foreseen how Anderson would react. Though her strategy had gone off-course, she knew she had to finish it.

She concentrated solar energy in her hand, forming a blade of light and hurled it at Triex. He turned too late. The energy sliced through the air, and his head flew off.

Back at the operations center, cameras recorded everything. The war commander commented that Leudo had given valuable advice to everyone on the base. He remembered that, at first, Traset hadn't wanted to join—but Leudo had told him something that made him reconsider. That's why Traset eventually joined in.

The commander admitted Leudo was too intelligent—and suspected he wasn't who he claimed to be.

Suddenly, they noticed a summoning was taking place. The war commander remarked that the mission might soon spiral out of control.

At that moment, a man with the concept of the perfect race—the same one from the earlier spear test—entered the room and said he wanted to join the group. If a powerful enemy showed up, he'd take care of it.

The war commander realized that the high-ranking authorities knew this mission would worsen. Still, they wanted to observe the new recruits—and he wondered why.

Elsewhere, three elite figures with flawless hair watched the operation unfold. One said, "I'd like to make them my personal guards."Another replied, "Let's see what makes that black-haired guy special—the one who can move everything."He even suggested dissecting him alive to satisfy their twisted desires and possibly create and grant new powers.

The man proposing the dissection burst into laughter that echoed across the room.

Back on the battlefield, Sol unfused from her Creator and was about to collapse when a fire attack hit her, severing one of her limbs. Anderson managed to catch her, though he suffered light burns on his face and arm.

With his final breath, Triex, driven by pure hatred, turned one of his eyes into a blazing flame. As his head dropped, the last fire left in his body launched in light-speed bursts toward the others.

After the attack, Anderson noticed that the object Just was holding began to glow. He thought Sol had been reckless to unfuse and leave him alone.

In Sol's mind, there was only one thought: her body couldn't endure the strain from her failed gamble. Now she could only watch the sky as she fell—beside Jean's motionless body.

Suddenly, a new figure appeared. His face was covered in scars, but his features were model-like. He stared at the battlefield and muttered, "How the hell did these bastards get me into trouble again?"

Just then, Jean, clearly injured but still conscious, attacked him by surprise, saying, "I don't care who you are. But if you leave someone hurt and walk away, it makes me sad."

A meteorite crashed into Jean.

Anderson, drained and with blurry vision, was crushed by guilt for not reacting in time. He wanted to avenge his friend. With his last ounce of strength, he used his energy to create a desperate meteorite strike—then passed out.
