*During a flashback at the Celestial Realm, Wukong tries dodging Ne Zha's attacks and spear. He notices the map.*
"Finally, an opening." Wukong tries to grab the map, but the seal pushes him back. "Ugh, the ol' magical barrier trick. I should've seen that one coming."
"That seal is strong enough to protect the map from any who would steal it. Even you, Sun Wukong. Do you have any idea what you're doing?" said Ne Zha standing in front of him, blocking the way to the map.
"Uh yeah, I'm the Monkey King. Trust me!" said Wukong with a confident smile.
"Trust you?" Ne Zha chuckles. "No. You ruined any chance of that long ago."
"Honestly, Ne Zha, when did you stop being fun?" Wukong rushes to get the map, but Ne Zha stops him and starts fighting him.
"I alone should've been entrusted with keeping that map safe." said Ne Zha while attacking him.
"Somebody's sounding jealous!" said Wukong while dodging his attacks.
"It was our solemn duty. Our oath was to protect this world from the Samadhi Fire!" shouted Ne Zha charging for another attack at him.
"Yeah well, something worse came along. Why do you think I need to use it? Come on!" Wukong told him, blocking his attack.
"Out of respect for your past friendship with the great monk, I will allow you to leave this place safely. But the fire will remain unforged. Hidden. The map stays here." said Ne Zha, lowering his spear but still blocking the way for the map.
"I know you take your security job pretty seriously, but I do need the map. So you see the problem right?" Wukong duplicates himself and the clones come at Ne Zha and restrain him. "You want me to leave it, I want me to take it! Eh, it's a toughie."
"What? Don't do this!" shouted Ne Zha, struggling to break free from Wukong's clones.
"I'm sorry, it's the only way." said Wukong turning his attention to the map.
"Wukong, that barrier is designed to protect that map at all costs. If you force your way through it, it could destroy us both!" shouted Ne Zha, trying to talk him out of it.
"Yeah, I know. But you gotta crack a few eggs to make an omelet." said Wukong with a shrug.
"What? That doesn't mean you should!" shouted Ne Zha, but Wukong forces his way through it and successfully grabs the map, destroying the temple. "Wukong..."
Wukong let out a laugh. "Look Ne Zha, keep up the training. Who knows? Maybe one day, you'll be tough enough to beat me!" Lightning and wind strikes, and he notices that MK is in trouble along with the sound of Miwa screaming. "Kids!"
"Wukong, you idiot! You'll doom us all!" shouted Ne Zha as Wukong escapes on his cloud. "Wukong, you fool."
*Tang narrating.*
"It was then when the Lady Bone Demon played her final move. Even with the combined might of the Monkie Kid, Luna Kid and the Monkey King, their all was simply not enough. The villain was victorious, plunging the world into darkness."
*The Dronecopter flies through a storm as it stops. MK is on the deck looking back. Miwa sitting on the deck with her left arm in a sling.*
"Now, any chance of hope lies in the hands of a monkey." Tang continues to write in his journal. "A kid who wishes he was a monkey. And a monkey in her human form."
"Mr. Tang, would you quit it?" MK groans in annoyance.
Miwa's left eye slightly twitched in annoyance. "Tang, I swear. if you don't soon shut up. I'm gonna throw you overboard."
Letting out a frustrated sigh, Miwa glanced down at her broken arm. "If my arm wasn't this weak. I could have fought without problems. And I wouldn't have it in this stupid sling."
Miwa turned her attention over to Wukong, seeing Mei adding some bandages to his injuries. "... Everything might have settle down now.... but..... with everything that happened. I'm not sure if I..... I can trust Da–Wukong..... maybe not even Macaque."
Her body slowly seeming to fade as she slightly grabbed the scarf that she was wearing after having her clothes mostly destroyed when fighting Lady Bone Demon. She had to change into some new clothes, which were the clothes and scarf that Wukong and Macaque had given her.
"Hey, as long as he wrote down that whole bit with me fighting Ne Zha and getting this bad boy, then we're good." said Wukong, snapping Miwa out of her thoughts and looked at the map he had shown them.
"I mean, the bit with the omelet thing, pretty cool." said MK, scratching the back of his head.
"Yeah, right? It was totally cool. Ha!" said Wukong, letting out a laugh. Before taken a glance over at Miwa. She hadn't said much to him let alone wanted to be anywhere near him. Which made him a bit worried. "Sunny, are you doing alright? Thought you would comment on how I fought against Ne Zha."
Miwa looked over at him, narrowing her eyes. "I'm fine."
The tone of her voice sounded like a sharp blade striking Wukong right in his guts where it hurts as he let out a slight wince. "Oookay, still upset I see."
Miwa just scoffed and didn't say anything else.
Trying to lighten the mood a bit, Wukong cleared his throat. "Anyway, gather around, everyone. It's Monkey King story time! So, I know what happened back there kinda sucked."
"You don't fucking say. I wonder what gave you that idea." said Miwa laying out her sarcasm thick.
"Ouch, she is starting to sound like Macaque." Wukong thought to himself.
"Mega sucked." said Mei, trying to kind of break the ice. But everyone could feel it between the two.
"Mega sucked. But the ol' Great Sage had a trick or two up his sleeve." said Wukong, turning his attention to the others.
"Great Old Baboon sounds more fitting." Miwa thought to herself but didn't say it out loud.
"Hmph." Pigsy crossed his arms.
Wukong looks at him before continuing but suddenly the winds change, jerking the Dronecopter. The map goes flying only to then hit Miwa smack in the face. Everyone freezes when that happened. MK slowly reaches over and removes it from her face. They place a piece of metal on it this time.
A very weak cosmic energy slowly surrounded Miwa as her temper was boiling high. Already cracking some of the floor of the deck she was sitting on.
"Miwa, here drink this tea. Then take some long slow breaths in and out." Sandy handed her a cup of tea that would help calm her nerves.
Miwa took the tea and slowly drank it, then processed to follow his advice with her breathing. Which seemed to help her calm down a bit.
Everyone let out a relieved sigh at this. Not up for her having another outburst.
"Yeah, so you said you were looking for a weapon?" MK asked, trying to switch the attention away from Miwa.
"Yup." Wukong replied.
"And? Did you find it?" Pigsy asked.
"Nope. But this map is gonna help us track it down. It's called the Samadhi Fi—" Wukong began explaining before he got cut off.
"The Samadhi Fire!" said exclaimed.
"Yeah, that. The most powerful force I've ever seen." said Wukong looking at the group.
"Powerful enough to destroy the Lady Bone Demon?" MK asked.
"Mhm." Wukong nodded.
"But what is it?" MK asked.
Wukong is about to go on, but they all see Tang eagerly ready to spout everything out. He sighs. "Go on then."
Miwa rolled her eyes at this. "Better to let the bookworm speak before he explodes."
"She has been spending too much time with Macaque. Going on this journey might help us reconnect again." Wukong thought, not liking the way Macaque was raising her.
"Hoo-hoo, okay! Ahem. Legends speak of a flame so powerful that nothing could put it out. Not even the Great Sage himself." Tang explained all excitedly.
"Huh, so there is something Da–Wukong can't do. Well, isn't that interesting?" Miwa thought to herself.
Wukong already had an idea of what Miwa was thinking by the look on her face. But didn't commented on it. "That's right. The Samadhi Fire burned out of control. The only way to contain it was by splitting it into pieces, and scattering them so their flames could never be reforged."
"You did what?" Miwa raised an eyebrow.
"So, you just tossed around a bunch of fires instead of one?" MK asked.
Wukong let out a frustrated groan. "And we put the pieces into three rings so they cause no further harm. Come on, do I have to spell everything out?" Everyone looks at MK, who ponders on his ignorance. Wukong sighs. "Now, that the Lady Bone Demon has the staff and your powers, along with Freckles' powers, she's too much for us to handle. We can't stop her, she's going to destroy... well, everything."
"So, find the rings, combine them, and then what? You said the Fire of Somewhatsi couldn't be controlled." Sandy asked, a little confused.
"Samadhi." Wukong and Miwa said in unison.
The two glanced at each other, but Miwa just rolled her eyes.
"Yes, you did say that." Tang pointed out.
"Yep, I heard him. I heard it too." said Pigsy simultaneously.
"Hey, if Monkey King thinks this can work, then it'll work! We can do this." said MK, trying to lift everyone's spirits.
"Yes! That's more like it!" said Wukong, liking the positive energy MK was giving.
*Suddenly a blast fires down on the ship. A jet flyer emerges from behind it.*
"The Lady Bone Demon?! How did she catch up to us already?!" shouted Pigsy in a panic.
"Oh no." said Wukong, quickly realizing who it was.
Miwa glanced at Wukong, and it didn't take her long to figure it out. "Macaque."
MK remembers his lost powers, but stays determined anyways.
"Oh, Wukong!" Macaque laughs.
"You can't be serious. Are those two gonna fight again, and right now?!" Miwa slowly got up, letting out a frustrated sigh.
"Macaque?!" MK exclaimed, then turned to Miwa with a concerned look.
"Oh, that's a relief. I thought it was someone important." said Wukong, not feeling threatened.
"Heh, always the comedian. Hey kiddo, ya miss me?" said Macaque with a confident smile, before glancing over at Miwa. Seeing the sling her arm was in and being in her human form. "I see you're wearing the scarf I gave you, looks great. But then again I was the one who gave it in the first place."
Macaque began speeding up and headed towards them, though did turn his head slightly. Looking at something he had hidden in his shadow.
*Flashback.*
"Before you go, I and the other Wishing Stars. Do have something to give you." said a guy with blue and white hair with white horns and face markings along with a blue dragon tail. And like the rest, wearing very colorful clothes.
Macaque narrowed his eyes at the guy, just about to get on the jet. "Oh, and what could such high beings like yourselves give me? With the wish you already granted me long ago?"
"A wish that is slowly dying." said the guy, tilting his head.
Hearing this Macaque gave him a cold glare. "Hah, I didn't know you stars had humor. Miwa dying, that is impossible. Wukong gave her an immortal peach when she was just a baby." He shook his head in this belief when hearing this, but thinking back to how he saw her body fading away did have him a bit worried.
"True, Sun Wukong did give her that. So she can't die in any normal way." said the guy, agreeing to that statement. "But, she is still a granted wish that hasn't been fulfilled."
A calm yet sorrowful look appeared on the guy's face. "And because she hasn't been fulfilled. She has become unstable and is fading away. I'm sure you've already seen it first hand."
Macaque slightly froze in place, but quickly played it of like it wasn't anything serious. Crossing his arms, leaning against the jet. "Well, seeing as you're working with the Lady Bone Demon, I can only assume whatever you are gonna give me is gonna help her. Getting her actual wish fulfilled. Mister bluey."
"The name's Lanse Xing, but you can call me Lanse, Blue or Blue Star. Whatever you prefer." said Lanse giving a slight bow. He then took a glance over his shoulder, seeing if the fake Mayor was still watching.
The so called fake Mayor was of course still watching them with his big creepy smile and were waving at them.
"As for what I'm gonna give you Macaque. Is actually something that will save Miwa from fading away." Lanse went on and pulled out a dagger, with its blade shining in all the wishing stars' colors, except for red.
Macaque at this gave him a questionable glance when he saw the dagger. "Right, fading away is too easy for her to die to. So instead you want the person who made the wish in the first place to also be the one to destroy it." He scoffed in annoyance, not taking the dagger.
Lanse gave him a confused look at this. "..... Oh, no, no, no! You misunderstand me here. This dagger is completely harmless. It's unable to kill anyone let alone leave any scars." He proved it by stabbing himself right where his heart was and even sliced his own throat, yet no wound nor blood was shown.
Macaque of course was slightly caught off guard when seeing this, and felt a little disturbed watching it. "..... If it's unable to hurt anyone, then what can it actually do?"
Lanse smiled as he held the dagger out for him to take. "It will keep her stabilized. Being unable to fade away. All you have to do is land a hit right at her heart."
Macaque gave the dagger another glance, hesitating a bit as he took it. "And how can I be sure you are telling the truth? This feels like an easy trick to just have me believe and go along with. Ending in me actually killing my own kid."
"We Wishing Stars never lie. We might make harsh decisions at times, but we do treasure every wish and wishing person. While we might be working with Lady Bone Demon, we would never want to put any innocent person in danger." Lanse explained. "So please do believe me when I say, this dagger will save Miwa from fading out of existence."
Macaque looked at the blade of the dagger, still feeling unsure about this. But the last thing he wanted was to lose Miwa once more. Finding out that she was alive and having her back in his life, even if she did hated him at times. All he wants is his daughter to be happy and alive.
Tightening his grip on the dagger, he dropped it into his shadows and got on the jet. Heading straight for Miwa and the others.
*End of flashback.*
"No! Guys, get us outta here!" shouted MK to the others.
"Right!" said Mei and Tang, quickly getting away from the danger.
Macaque fires at them as they try to escape.
Miwa narrowed her eyes, and got in front of her friends. Using what little power she had by summoning tiny stars to block his attacks. But even just doing this was taking a lot out of her.
"Monkey King, you've gotta do something!" shouted MK in a panic.
"So... yeah, I'd love to, but I kinda sort of used the last bit of my powers getting this." Wukong points at the map.
"Are you serious right now Dad?!" Miwa shouted at him frustrated.
Macaque catches up and fires at both of them but made sure to avoid Miwa before disappearing. "Hoo hoo, looking a little banged up there, Monkey King. The kid too. Along with Starlight. Looks like our old friend, the Lady Bone Demon, really did a number on you guys."
"So what? You're her puppet now? I mean, makes sense. You did always have a side-kick kinda vibe." Wukong taunted, crossing his arms.
"Wukong?!" shouted Miwa at him.
Macaque dives in at them from behind and they barely dodge away. He jumps down on Wukong and pins him down. "You know me, as a new player in town, I'm just feeling out which one is the winning side." He sees MK leap at him from behind with a pipe, and kicks Wukong away to catch him. "Not smart, bud."
"Kid!" shouted Wukong with concern.
Macaque quickly summons the Shadow Monkeys to hold Wukong down. "The two of you are such a mess. I can't imagine why the Bone Demon wants me to bring you back." He turns to MK. "Look at you, you're all used up." He's about to finish him when Miwa charges right at him using the pipe MK had dropped.
"I told you already Macaque! You hurt MK again and I wouldn't stand back!" Miwa shouted at him, as her body seems to be fading out a bit. But still processed swinging the pipe at him.
But then, as if in slow motion. Everyone watched as Macaque knocked the pipe out of her hand, and then pulled out a colorful dagger from the shadows and stabbed it right through Miwa broken arm and into her where her heart was.
Miwa's eyes widened in pure shock, not able to believe what her own parent just did. Her eyes seemed to flash between red, gold and then black as the realization hit her.
"MIWA?!"
Macaque took a step back, as he pulled the dagger free and dropped it back into the shadows. Observing closely, hoping what Lanse Xing had said was true. That it wouldn't kill her.
Miwa's body began fading out, but when that happened a painful shock ran through her whole body. Causing her to scream out in pain and struggling to stay on her feet.
Suddenly a blast was shot at Macaque. He dodges and the blast expels out the Shadow Monkeys holding down Wukong. Macaque looks back and sees Mei. "Interesting." She continues to blast at him.
The moment Wukong was able to move again, he rushed over to Miwa's side pulling her into a tight hug. While giving Macaque a cold and deadly glare, unable to believe what he just did to their kid.
Miwa was clinging to Wukong while she was screaming out in pain as she still kept fading in and out while tears were running down her face.
"You want to get to my monkeys, you gotta go through me first!" said Mei getting in front of Wukong and her friends. Giving Miwa a concerned look.
"Ah, you must be the Dragon Girl I've heard so little about. Little girl, you can shoot me all you want. It won't do you any good." said Macaque, with a smirk. Hiding how he really felt when seeing the state Miwa's was it.
"Maybe not. But hey, you want to make an omelet, sometimes you gotta break a few engines." said MK as he was trying to pull free some metal.
"Uh, what?" Macaque gave him a confused glance.
"I-I don't know. I thought it was cool. Just— whatever!" MK throws the piece of metal at Macaque, who casually dodges it.
"Whoa, didn't see that one coming." Macaque taunted him.
However, it flies into one of the burners, which explodes, tipping the Dronecopter over. Macaque goes flying.
"Kid, why did you—" Wukong began asking.
"Uh, well yeah, I-I was trying to do you in the omelet story. Do the weird, impulsive Monkey King thing and escape the bad guy?" MK tried explaining.
"Well, I mean, Ne Zha ain't really a bad guy, but... did you forget about the part where I got really hurt?" said Wukong, taking a glance at Miwa who finally seemed to have stopped screaming in pain. But still kept holding on to him while breathing heavily.
At this point, all the burners have been set aflame.
"Hold onto your bricks, everyone!" shouted Sandy.
They break through the storm and fall out towards the ocean, much to Miwa's horror.
Seeing the ocean, Miwa tightened her hold on Wukong. Eyes wide in fear while starting to hyperventilate.
