Chapter 7 - Pochita

"Sakura, you're all wet... Go back and change your clothes," a girl said, concerned.

Sakura immediately looked at her wet clothes. It was autumn, so she wasn't wearing much. The long-sleeved shirt on her upper body was soaked, and the clothes clung to her body, outlining her magnificent curves. But fortunately, the clothes weren't see-through.

"Alright, as long as you're okay."

Seeing this, Ren wanted to leave. It seemed he wouldn't die today, and in front of these girls, he couldn't commit suicide by jumping into the river again.

"Wait..." At that moment, Sakura hurriedly stopped in front of Ren.

"Uh... do you have anything else to do?" Ren blinked, looking innocent.

'Is this girl... going to ask for compensation or something? Even though she fell into the water for her own reasons, I'm penniless now.'

Sakura took the rescued puppy from her companion's hands and said, "Well... you rescued it, don't you plan to adopt it?"

Ren was surprised. "It seems there's no law in Japan that forces adoption after a rescue, is there?"

Sakura's pretty face suddenly flushed, as Ren's words reminded her that he had rescued her.

"No, no, no... no, but this puppy is very pitiful... if no one takes care of it and doesn't give it medicine after falling into the water, it's very likely to get sick," she said, concerned. "Indeed... if I could, I'd also like to adopt it, but we are university students, and we're at the nearby Magic City University of Technology. The university doesn't allow pets."

Ren scratched his head and said, "But... I can't afford to keep it. Frankly, I'm a penniless, homeless, unemployed ghost right now. I can't buy dog food or take it to the vet. At most, I can only give it a kennel."

His expression was serious and sincere, and he was telling the absolute truth. 'Those who can't even eat have dogs. Don't they just harm others?'

"Really?" Sakura smiled understandingly and said, "In that case, how about this? I'll treat its illness, buy its food, and you adopt it."

Ren was stunned for a moment and then looked at the puppy. The puppy seemed to understand something at that moment and wagged its tail happily: "Woof, woof!"

"Then... okay?" Ren asked uncertainly.

"Then, please!" Sakura handed him the puppy.

Ren took it.

"By the way, my name is Sakura, may I ask your name?" Sakura-san asked again.

"Ren," Ren replied frankly.

"By the way, this puppy doesn't have a name yet...". At that moment, another girl said.

"Yes, Sakura, why don't you name it?" Another girl suggested.

Sakura shook her head and looked at Ren: "Amamiya-san..., you rescued it and you'll have to take care of it from now on. Why don't you give it a name?"

Ren looked at the puppy in front of him, thought for a moment, and then said uncertainly: "Why don't we call it... Pochita?"

"Woof, woof!" The puppy seemed very satisfied with the name and responded.

"Pochita? What a strange name!" All the girls looked at him oddly.

But basically no one objected.

"Then... let's take Pochita to the vet first and then buy some dog food," Sakura said.

"But Sakura... you're all wet..." a girl hesitated.

"I'll go to the nearest mall to change. And, Amamiya-san, you're wet too. Let's go change together." Sakura said indifferently.

Ren immediately understood that this beautiful girl named Sakura must be a 'mine owner' back home. 'Otherwise, how could she be so generous? Damn it, is she a life winner, rich, powerful, and beautiful?'

'It's so wonderful to meet someone so successful... I even wanted to be Sakura-san's dog! Being Sakura-san's dog... must be a great joy!'

Thus, Ren followed Sakura and her group to a nearby mall to change clothes.

Then he went to a nearby pet store to see Pochita, bought dog food, got her vaccinated, a leash, a kennel, and canned food.

Not only that, Ren also received a cup of milk tea from Sakura.

Sakura-san is a winner. She doesn't even ask for the bill when paying by card!

After all this, the afternoon passed.

Sakura looked at the time and said: "Alright, Amamiya-san, we should head back to school."

"Yes! Sakura-san! You've worked hard today!" Ren said, holding items of all sizes.

Sakura looked at him strangely and said, "But I want to go to your place so I can see Pochita comfortably."

She petted Pochita in Ren's arms, and Pochita also rubbed Sakura's slender fingers with her head obediently.

Sakura narrowed her eyes with joy.

"No problem, Sakura-san!" Ren certainly had no problem. After Sakura gave him a cup of milk tea just now, he obeyed her words.

"Then let's head back first. Amamiya-san and I will go to his place," Sakura told her friends.

"Well... okay." The friends did not object.

Sakura and Ren left the mall directly and parted ways with Sakura's companions.

The two, along with the dog, slowly returned to Ren's rental house.

At that moment, the landlord saw Ren return with a beautiful girl and was stunned.

"Ren... is that your friend?"

"Yes, Takeda-ojisan!" Ren replied. "By the way, Pochita will live with me from now on. Can we have a dog in our rental house?"

The landlord looked at Pochita in Ren's arms and said, "No problem, as long as your dog doesn't disturb or harm others."

"Of course Pochita won't!" Ren said confidently.

Pochita also seemed to respond with Ren: "Woof, woof!"

"Don't say that, this dog is quite human," the landlord said, surprised.

"It seems true, Pochita is a good little puppy," Ren said with a chuckle.

After greeting the landlord, he led Sakura to his small rental house.

"Amamiya-san... do you live here?" Sakura asked curiously.
