The World of Alfair

This vast world is made up of five great continents, each shaped by complex civilizations, diverse cultures, and endless conflicts. Far to the north, a colossal wall of ice stretches into the sky—thick, cold, and ominous—like a permanent scar that separates the world from something unknown. This wall is more than a physical boundary; it is a symbol of an ancient secret that remains hidden.

Yet beyond all mysteries, these five continents bear witness to an eternal struggle between light and darkness.

Velmora – The Last Light

Velmora is the only continent still entirely under the control of the Races of Light. Here, humanity has flourished and built their greatest kingdom: the Kingdom of Morven. The kingdom is divided into four main cities and several untouched regions to the north.

West Morven City is home to the lower classes and noble families who have lost their titles and honor.

Central Morven is the heart of the kingdom, where the royal palace stands and high nobles and wealthy merchants live. Some middle-class citizens also reside here, mostly shopkeepers and business owners.

Fermore, in the east, is the center of human industry and innovation. Once a hub for brilliant inventors, the city fell into stagnation after a tragic incident. Now, it merely maintains its old industries without creating anything new.

Carlndel, in the south, shares a similar atmosphere with West Morven but is better known for its shipbuilding and naval expertise.

To the north lie vast mountain ranges and three small, peaceful villages: Valiri, Vetheven, and Iaelren—far from the glittering kingdom, but close to the serenity of nature.

Off the eastern coast stands a small island named Fermare, home to a military academy where children from all over Velmora are trained to become the warriors of tomorrow.

Isvalar – The Frozen Silence

Isvalar is a continent of ice located in the center of the world, surrounded by seas and scattered islands. It is home to many of the Races of Light—except for giants, faeries, and merfolk.

Here stands the ancient kingdom of Frostholm, ruled by the Muj. Known for its powerful ice magic, its castle appears to have grown directly from the ice itself.

Thoistholm – The Fractured Land

Situated in the southwest of the world, Thoistholm is also a snowy land, though not as bitterly cold as Isvalar. Inhabited by humans and other Light Races (except merfolk, giants, and faeries), this continent is home to one last surviving ancient kingdom—Grimrun, now under the control of the Abyss.

Two major cities stand here, both named Orvik, yet they are separate:

Southern Orvik is inhabited by humans and elves.

Eastern Orvik houses other Light Races.

In the southeast lies the fallen kingdom of Jarnstad, now in ruins. To the west is the small seafaring town of Skaar, known for its ships and their long voyages across the dark seas.

Caldwen – Land of Chains

Caldwen, in the southeastern corner of the world, is dominated by giants and humans, with smaller populations of beast-humans and elves. It was once the home of the giant kingdom Kelderoth, but it has now fallen into the hands of the demons.

In the southwest, the ruins of Hasden serve as a haunting reminder of a failed resistance. The demons have since built three major cities to enslave the Light Races:

Hasden, in the southeast, now houses the captured giants.

Mornham, in the east, is where elves and beast-humans are kept.

Thoruwyn, in the west, is home to enslaved humans, with some beast-humans and elves as well.

This continent has become a vast labor camp, where demons rule with cruelty and fear.

---

Olyndor – The Taken Land

The last and largest continent, Olyndor, lies to the east of the world. Once a land of peace shared by elves, faeries, giants, and beast-humans, it is now conquered by the Yuj and demons.

In the east stood Arkvale, the elven kingdom, now fallen. To the north remains Stalorn, where some surviving elves continue to endure.

In the south lies Jrindel, the last stronghold of the faeries, still fiercely defending their freedom.

Three other kingdoms once existed here:

Norland, in the west, homeland of the beast-humans.

Galdrith, in the center, belonging to the giants.

Helvann, once a symbol of unity—an unruled kingdom formed by the will to coexist among all Light Races. Now, all have been consumed by darkness.

Many of the remaining Light Races have fled to the northern mountains of Olyndor, holding onto the hope of a rebirth... a hope that may never come.

---

The Forgotten Isles

Beyond the five great continents, hundreds of small islands scatter across the oceans. Some remain untouched. Others have disappeared from all maps.

But among them, one stands above all in mystery—a sky island said to float in the air, its name long erased from history.

---

Now, only Velmora remains wholly under the banner of the Light Races.

The other four continents have fallen.

The world is gripped by darkness.

And yet—

hope still burns, in the place least expected.
