Chapter 86 - Episode 86 – The Echo in the Den

The Tale in the Dark

Bernetter standing in the cold den of the cave, clutching his paralyzed hand. His breath shivered. His eyes trembled as his past clawed at him from within. A single crack of light from above cut across half his face, painting his sorrow in shadowed strokes.

Shammroy watched him carefully, noticing the tremble behind every word.

Shammroy calm, steady,

"What did you do… after that?"

Bernetter's lips quivered. His voice cracked like a dying flame.

Bernetter broken, hollow,

"What could I do? I was just a man back then… powerless. I accepted my fate… and left."

Querion narrowed his eyes, suspicion deepening like a blade.

Querion skeptical, unimpressed,

"Not convincing at all."

Shammroy nodded slightly—but Bernetter's temple gleamed with sweat.

A lie.

A dangerous lie.

Shammroy's gaze hardened.

Shammroy serious, commanding,

"Do—"

He never finished.

Because Bernetter moved first.

The Trap Awakens

The ceiling thundered. Stones broke free like falling meteors.

Bernetter had triggered a rock-fall trap.

The group reacted with the reflex of warriors pushed to the edge of survival—dodging in the last possible heartbeat as the cave shuddered beneath their feet.

Dust spiraled around them.

Before they could fully regain their senses…

Bernetter moved again.

He unleashed his true power.

His presence pressed on them like a mountain collapsing. Ferin's knees buckled, pain shooting through his body.

Ferin choking, crushed by pressure,

"What… are… you… doing…?"

Bernetter's lips twisted into an unholy grin.

Bernetter mad laughter, hatred burning,

"You asked what I did after that? I grew tired of this pathetic world… so I began hurting those who hurt me first. I slaughter—

My mother.

And then my wife.

And those foolish people who believed her lies."

Kaizer tried to stand, bones shaking.

Kaizer struggling, confused,

"Why… people…?!"

Bernetter spat the word like poison.

Bernetter furious, deranged,

"People? These so called society creatures? Hah! They were dolls—mere dolls played by women!"

Shammroy clenched his teeth under the crushing aura.

Shammroy defiant, strained,

"Not… all women… are like that!"

Bernetter's eyes snapped toward him, burning with madness.

Bernetter roaring, unhinged conviction,

"What?! 'Not all women'? Then why do they say 'all men'? If they judge,I do judge!

And those people believed her blindly… they never listened to 'ME'. Not once."

He sighed, a twisted sort of calm entering his voice.

Bernetter cold, emotionless,

"Everything was in my control…

until the Cosmic Gods arrived and blessed those fools with a Cosmic Beast.

I panicked.

Joined a rival force.

Built creatures of my own.

But then the cosmic beast disappeared.

That was my chance.

(His eyes got furious),

And then YOU came—slaughtering all my children… the creatures I made."

He absorbed all their energy with a predator's hunger. Power surged through him, and then he burst through the cave wall—

Light exploded inward.

The group collapsed, gasping violently for air, drained beyond exhaustion.

All except Querion, who remained on one knee, staring through the shattered wall as sunlight hit his trembling form.

Arrival of the Terion Squad

Minutes later…

Footsteps echoed in the cave as another group arrived—The Terion Squad.

Terion looked over the fallen warriors, then gave his command.

Terion focused,

"Check on them. I'll see what's happening outside."

Elvein, Aseri, and Roven rushed in, while terion stepped toward the blinding light.

At the cliff, he saw the smoke.

A blast echoed from the village below.

Terion quiet, urgent,

"Guess I need to hurry."

The Clash of Ruin

Bernetter was already in the village—destroying everything.

His raw power tore through houses.

People screamed.

Buildings shattered like paper.

He even didn't leave the children , olders .

Terion descended like lightning.

Their clash erupted with force—yet Bernetter didn't flinch.

Bernetter fury rising,

"Why do you stand in my way?"

He inhaled deeply, sensing the energies around him.

Bernetter dark fascination,

"What a power …I absorbed… it feels like I am beyond…"

He raised his hand, fingers tightening.

Bernetter taunting, wild grin,

"Come at me, kid."

Terion charged, weapon first.

Their collision rippled the air so violently that even the distant cave trembled.

A crimson whirlpool of aura enveloped them as both entered a deadly, focused state.

Every strike cracked the air.

Every movement screamed of power.

Their battle was no longer just a fight—

it was a storm.

The Awakening Inside the Cave

Back inside…

Elvein, Aseri, and Roven were desperately healing Querion, Ferin, and Kaizer. Shammroy lay still, eyes closed, breathing slow.

Until something stirred.

A faint pulse of energy flickered around him.

Then—

It grew.

A voice thundered inside his mind.

Keyokthai commanding, echoing through his soul,

"Wake up, kid! Don't tell me you forgot the word you gave me."

Another voice—his father's—followed, warm but firm.

Father prideful, distant,

"I know he is something… something beyond us. He won't fall. He never does. Am I wrong is this you?"

Then his brother, loud and bright as always.

Brother challenging, hopeful,

"I'm getting stronger for our rematch. Next time—we go all out!"

Shammroy didn't move.

He didn't understand what was happening.

Then—

The air changed.

It grew colder.

Creepier.

The cave vibrated.

Dust drifted from the ceiling.

Elvein fear rising,

"What… is happening?"

Aseri pointing, trembling,

"Guys… look."

Elvein and Roven slowly turned.

And their eyes widened in pure horror.

Shammroy's body was covered—completely engulfed—by a raw, demonic aura far darker than anything they had ever seen.

The cave lights dimmed.

The atmosphere thickened.

And then—

Everything went silent.
