Chapter 51 - Chapter 48: A Mirror Breaks What Doesn’t Bow

No one knew who moved the Mirror.

At midnight, it appeared in the Room of Requirement — sealed inside a perfect circle of runes, suspended in shadowlight.

Theo found it first. And Theo had a plan.

The Plan: Rewrite the Mirror

He hadn't told Harry.Hadn't told Blaise. Not even Rowan.

Just Luna, who stood beside him barefoot, sketching a circle in salt around the frame.

"If we rewrite the rune at its base," Theo whispered,"we can freeze the Mirror's choices. Force it to obey Hogwarts magic."

Luna blinked up at him.

"You're trying to bind something older than Time.""I hope you fail slowly."

He smiled.She didn't.

The Runes Activate

They began the chant.

Old language. Forgotten syllables from Salazar's journals. The salt burned violet. The Mirror shook.

Cracks spread in the air — not on the glass, but through the space around it.

Reality trembled.

Luna stepped back.

"Theo, stop. It's not breaking. It's… opening."

But he didn't stop.

He finished the incantation.

And the Mirror howled.

The Mirror Responds

A beam of light shot through Theo's chest — not burning, but splitting.

His memories scattered around him like glass shards in midair.

Theo at age 5, locked in a cupboard.

Theo at age 11, being Sorted.

Theo whispering, "Don't choose me. Not again."

Then the Mirror spoke:

"You don't get to force me.I am not a wand.I am not a prophecy."

"I am the version of you who survived."

And the Mirror made its own Theo.

Two Theos

A second figure stepped out of the Mirror.

Same eyes. Same voice. But colder. Taller. The smile sharper.

This Theo wore a pendant with the flame sigil. This Theo had no shadow.

He whispered:

"Thank you for waking me.Now I'll take it from here."

And original Theo collapsed — unconscious. His mark of Flame turned black.

The Mirror pulsed once.

And went still.

Final Scene – Blaise Watches

From the rafters above, Blaise lowered his invisibility charm.

Watched everything.

And whispered:

"Now even the Mirror's making champions."

He turned away.

But not before glancing once more…

And seeing his own face inside the glass.

Smiling.
