Chapter 150 - Chakra

Chapter 4: Chakra

Hatake Fūka and his wife, Yamanaka Suzune, exchanged glances.

Despite seeing his wife frown in obvious protest, Fūka still responded in a calm and respectful tone,

"Hokage-sama, this child… he doesn't have a name yet."

But before the right to name their son could fall into the hands of the Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, Tachibana Kyūjō made his move.

Activating his Infinity Perception system, he quickly devised a... slightly extreme emergency plan.

With precise control over his newborn body—more specifically, the critical sphincter muscles—Kyūjō began to loosen his hold.

Moments later, an unpleasant odor slowly wafted through the air, accompanied by an increasingly loud and exaggerated baby wail that echoed throughout the room.

Mission accomplished.

Yes, our brilliant protagonist… pooped himself.

Naturally, the Third Hokage couldn't continue the conversation in such a chaotic atmosphere. The situation had turned far too… unpleasant.

With a complex expression, Hiruzen simply postponed the matter for another time.

Still, as he left the Hatake household with the medical-nin in tow, a faint frown remained on his face.

Once he returned to the Hokage's office, Hiruzen immediately issued a standing order to the ANBU—an ongoing surveillance mission to secretly protect the newborn child of the Hatake family.

The medical-nin may not have found anything out of the ordinary, but the Hokage's instincts were whispering otherwise.

That child… wasn't normal.

To be more specific, his lightning resistance was absurdly high. Too high.

Of course, Hiruzen wasn't about to tell the parents, "By the way, I zapped your baby a few times with Lightning Release chakra just now."

And the truth? The voltage he used would've made any normal baby faint on the spot. But that child…

He looked like he was enjoying it.

— — —

A week passed.

Thanks to subtle influence and subconscious suggestions from Kyūjō, his mother, Suzune, gradually grew fond of the name "Kyūjō."

His father, however, remained firm.

Not because "Hatake Kyūjō" sounded weird—but because Fūka, being a man of tradition, wished to wait for Hokage-sama himself to bestow a name.

It was a matter of honor.

But after a whole month of silence from Hiruzen, Fūka finally gave in to his wife's insistence.

And so, the name Hatake Kyūjō was officially declared.

Wrapped in baby blankets and barely a month old, Kyūjō finally let out a silent sigh of relief.

Sure, changing his family name was a no-go, but at least his given name remained intact.

That humiliating sacrifice a month ago—Operation Diaper Doom—was not in vain.

— — —

That night, after the entire Hatake household had fallen asleep, Kyūjō, not even two months old, began his first major trial: extracting and forming chakra.

How did he know how to do that?

Simple—he'd been stealing knowledge using his Infinity Perception system.

Born into a ninja family, basic techniques like chakra molding weren't exactly classified. Even if they were, as long as there wasn't a barrier seal (Fuinjutsu), he could easily "eavesdrop" on them.

Besides, his father Hatake Fūka, his mother Yamanaka Suzune, and even his older brother Hatake Sakumo never bothered to hide their chakra control practice sessions.

Truth was, Kyūjō had studied the method for a while now.

He just held off on trying it because of how fragile his infant body still was. One wrong move could permanently stunt his development.

Still, for over a month, he hadn't been slacking. He had been slowly absorbing electrical energy using his Lightning Eyes, enriching his body with supplemental nutrients every day.

Relying solely on breast milk from Yamanaka Suzune? Yeah, no way that'd cut it.

This world didn't have those nutrient-packed Sea Kings like his previous one did.

Thankfully, with his ability to absorb electricity, most of his biological energy needs were covered.

Otherwise, forget regaining his Haki—he wouldn't even have enough power to maintain it.

After all, digestion alone would consume all of his attention and energy.

Back in the pirate world, food was more like premium fuel—rich in protein, fat, and essential minerals.

Sea King meat, in particular, was a nutrient bomb that made even the most expensive food in the Shinobi World look like cheap scraps.

And with his enhanced metabolism, he'd need to eat dozens of times more than a regular child to keep up.

If that were the case, his entire day would be spent just eating.

Not to mention the cost… and time wasted.

But if he wanted to train his Haki again, eating well was a must.

Fortunately, that problem had now been solved.

Otherwise, his goal of returning to peak condition would've been impossible.

— — —

But enough about that.

Back to the present—Kyūjō was now seated in a lotus position (well, as close to that as a baby could manage), meditating in silence as he began forming chakra for the first time.

The moment he activated his Infinity Perception, the entire process felt like enabling auto-leveling in a video game.

Everything progressed smoothly, flawlessly.

And once he sensed that his body was reaching its limit, he immediately stopped.

Even Kyūjō himself was a little surprised… but it made sense.

As mentioned before, Chakra and Haki shared many similarities. Both were forms of spiritual and physical energy.

But while Haki focused on physical development through combat and discipline, Chakra required balance between the mind and body—achieved through focus and meditation.

During that meditative process, a small stream of natural energy would be drawn in, helping to merge spiritual and physical power together.

That's what created Chakra.

Through his Infinity Perception, Kyūjō could feel the faint but constant flow of ambient energy around him feeding into the fusion.

He strongly suspected it was Natural Energy.

And since the entire process was inherently spiritual, this was where Kyūjō's advantage kicked in.

He was like a college professor relearning elementary math.

One glance—and he understood it all.

The only thing holding him back was his physical body.

It was just too young, too delicate. Not ready for higher energy throughput.

He knew this, and had already drawn a line for himself.

If he pushed beyond that, the body could suffer irreversible damage.
