Chapter 82: Midnight Assault
Azkaban, at midnight.
"Ugg…" A man leaned forward on the dining table and groaned. "Where is the next shift? They should be here already."
His partner was standing right next to him and looking around with evident nervousness. "I think there is something wrong…"
"What are you talking about? The only thing wrong is that I am still here! I miss my comfy bed already… I just want to sleep."
A third guard walked down the stairs and entered the dining hall. "Oh, I thought you guys had already left."
"I wish…"
"Where is the captain?" the nervous auror asked the new arrival.
"Mmm? I think he is still doing the rounds with the two latest recruits. The midnight shift is still not here? What is going on? Those guys are always on time."
The three present guards were supposed to leave at midnight, so it was customary for the next shift to arrive at least a few minutes earlier for a smooth transition.
"Tempus… it's already five minutes past midnight." The sleepy guard groaned again. "Those bastards…"
"I'm telling you, I have a bad feeling." The nervous guard looked out of the window. "A very bad feeling."

High in the skies, Harry was sitting on his flying broom and overseeing Azkaban with determination.
A small flying creature approached him. "Master! Seven humans are left inside the structure."
This small creature was a kobalos. They were kind of similar to imps in size and shape, but they had blue skin and wings. They had a much higher level of intelligence and were able to speak in the human tongue. However, they were almost useless for combat, so James had only summoned a few to act as scouts.
"Only seven?…" Harry rolled his eyes. "They have too much faith in the dementors." His eyes moved to another flying creature approaching.
This one looked a lot more like a human woman, except for the large bat-like wings, large claws, and a pair of black horns on her head.
Succubi were middle-rank demons who had a large variety of uses: high intelligence, control over minds and fire… they were also very expensive to summon.
"Where is your sister?" Harry asked. This one was one of the only two succubi he had brought into this world, and they were always together.
"Playing with some humans we found nearby." The beautiful demon licked some blood from her lips.
"Humans or wizards?" Harry asked. These creatures had a hard time seeing the difference.
The succubus shrugged, not sure what to answer. "They were riding one of those flying sticks." She pointed at Harry's broom.
"Wizards then… how many?"
"Three."
"Did you kill them?" Harry asked.
The succubus smiled.
"Okay, fine. They must have been aurors if they were coming here at this time." He adjusted his position on the broom. "I want you to stay on the outside. If anyone else gets too close, kill them. Until I am done reclaiming what's mine… no one is allowed to enter."
The demons nodded, and Harry flew away at great speed, leaving them behind, and soon after, landed on the roof of Azkaban.
"Come to me… my children." Hearing his call, countless shadows began to emerge.
His beloved dementors had been waiting for his return, performing the bare minimum of their obligations for the other wizards.
"Tonight, we are taking back our home from those disgusting thieves!" The dementors seemed to react to his words and made some eerie noises in response.
Harry smiled, then opened his left hand and ran the back of his wand across its surface. There was a small spike that he had installed recently, for the purpose of piercing his skin and producing a few drops of blood.
These fell onto the stone surface of the prison's roof, and Harry wasted no time in using the tip of his wand to draw a rune with his own blood.
The mass of blood began to move and grow in size until it formed a large red door right next to Harry.
"Open!" He tapped its surface and it obeyed his command.
Terrifying creatures began to emerge from within.
A few dozen imps came in, running with excitement and emitting loud cries.
Next, some large ugly creatures who could barely fit through the door walked onto the roof.
They were as large as trolls, and just as thick. They were vaguely humanoid, but incredibly ugly, with dark grey skin that was filled with pustules and warts. The creatures carried massive weapons in their hands, like cleavers and axes. These were Dregnauts… excellent warriors, but even less intelligent than imps.
He had brought six of them in total, but in the future, he was expecting to bring many more of them to serve as guards.
And lastly, a dozen shadowy figures emerged from the gate before it closed up and disappeared.
The figures were tall and thin. Their bodies were completely covered in black cloak and seemed to disappear on occasion as one looked at them… like they were blending themselves into the night.
These did not speak, as far as Harry knew.
They also had no names, but he called them Shadows, because it seemed appropriate for their appearance and abilities. They make for excellent assassins, if one can manage to control them for long enough.
Harry glanced at his small army and nodded in satisfaction. It wasn't much, but it had only taken him a month to bring these creatures under his service.
There were a few more demons that he decided to keep at home as they were not needed for this mission.
"Here are your orders… kill every human who isn't locked inside a cell.
That's it, get to work," said Harry as he turned to face the door leading downstairs. "Azkaban will be mine once more." He aimed his wand at the door and blew it to pieces. "Let's go!"
