Seriously though, this is a weird feeling. My entire body got rearranged into an armored sphere. I could move around at will. Left. Right. Forward. Backward. I can even jump thanks to the effects of the Space Jump Boots, and that allowed me to squeeze into the ventilation shaft. You definitely couldn't crawl here, let alone stand. Looks like I am stuck using Morph Ball here until I can reach an opening, like what Adam suggested.
This ventilation shaft wasn't the prettiest either. It carried the humidity from the muck lakes beneath the raised city. I would likely be drowning in sweat if my Gravity Suit didn't do what it does. Different kinds of vibrations would echo around the shaft as it filtered what it could. Not the prettiest, but it allowed me to sneak in nonetheless. I could hear the hum of a low-thrumming generator in the distance. Loose chatter reached the vents, likely from more members of the Black Sun lurking inside the compound. I'll have to tread carefully from here.
[I am getting a read on your surrounding environment. It is nominal. No damage to your Power Suit. You will get pushed back by wind pressure every few seconds. If you don't move forward, it will blast you out of the ventilation shaft. Keep moving forward. You aren't far from a junction.] Adam stated, and zoomed in on the map for me. Not too far away stood a juncture, allowing me to go into other parts of the compound.
Steadily but surely, I eased into the junction that Adam mentioned while getting used to my new movement. It moved so fluidly, even though I was now in a ball. It also acted like I had three-hundred and sixty degree vision. I could see everything on my frontside. And if I moved backward, I could see everything behind me. Truly strange.
Along the way, I was blasted with some steam, and my visor became foggy. Once it vanished, I had arrived at the four-way junction. The space widened, but the ceiling was still as compact as the shaft was. I could not morph back into my figure here. There was also a vent nearby, and it didn't take long for me to peer into it. I saw a couple figure standing nearby some crates, likely guarding them. So they had enough manpower to guard particular items, huh? Just how many people are inside this compound? It was quite large from the outside.
The visor worked its magic too, and it translated the wording for me. They spoke Basic. Not surprised. The couple of aliens stood before a triangular-reinforced armored door, littered with hazard tape across it which read DO NOT ENTER.
Sus.
Just what is behind that door?
Welp, I saw one of them reach for their ear, and started speaking.
"-Posts four five and six have not been reported in. Go check on them.", The left sentry said in a raspy voice. To my surprise, both of these guys were Nikto. Or perhaps Nikto exiles? You normally don't see these guys cooperating with the Black Sun. They're ruled by the Hutts, so seeing some of these guys here piqued my interest.
"Tch. They're likely sleeping on the job, even though the boss pays 'em as much as we get paid. Such a pain.", The other sentry said. "We need to guard the shipment until the delivery is made. Don't bother. We know our orders.", The second Nikto sentry said, refusing to budge an inch from his current spot.
To get a better picture of where they were at, I switched my visor. I saw the two now painted orange around the neck, and underneath their arms. They were wearing some nice armor. Glad I went for the head with those other three. Otherwise, they wouldn't have fallen with a single Power Beam shot.
"You getting this, Adam? Sounds like we lucked out. They're currently making a delivery as we speak, or the delivery hasn't gone out yet.", I whispered.
[That seems to be the case here. I have mapped out your surroundings. It is a two-story building with a main floor with a central room, likely a command center. There are three cargo holds, to which one of the three is likely in your periphery. There's an armory, and several server rooms with detailed account information. If you weren't in a rush to take the leader's head, I would divert some energy to hack these files. Sadly, you do not have one of those droids with you. As it stands, your Power Suit is not equipped with such capability. I am limited in that manner. For now. We will have to work on this once this mission is over.] Adam said to me.
Adam didn't outright say he couldn't hack into databases. This is Star Wars we're talking about here. He had already done so back in our first mission, and has already started using the HoloNet to compile even more data. I am sure he can easily hack into files, but you need certain measures to access them. Right now, my Power Suit isn't equipped with such functionality, as he stated. We could only brush these rooms off for now. If anything, they'll add a nice bonus if the Republic can find these. I'm sure it'll give them some insight to the Black Sun and its operations~
"So there's no point in being here. Let's continue onward. I need to take out this boss they're calling out.", I whispered again. In response, I rolled. Take out the lead actor, and the rest will scramble. Crime syndicates are structured in such a way. Very easy to know who you are going after. And after that, new power struggles will emerge trying to fend for scraps of any previous operations.
I got a good reading, and chose the path on my left side. Making my way through, I saw another vent that I remained careful with. While passing by it, I saw another Black Sun member holding a diagnostic slate, trying to get a reading on something. Likely managing inventory.
Before long, I arrived at a larger grated entrance that led me directly into the main floor. Pausing, I listened to all of the noise happening around me. Constant drips of condensation. Faint heartbeats of Black Sun members lurking around the large two-story compound. The grinding of machinery in the distance. Even an idle shield generator stood off to the side. I'm glad I did not storm through the main entrance. They likely could have easily blocked me off with several-layered shields. I could take my time dismantling these guys, but that wasn't my purpose here.
My purpose was the target I was hunting.
I timed my exit once subtle noises shifted around.
Like a shadow, I rolled inside, and arrived at the main floor of the compound.
Once inside, I saw several figures doing their patrols around the main floor. I saw a rough-looking Twi'lek nearby. Several scars remained on his lekku-those large appendages that dropped down from their head. Nearby, I saw a Rodian whose fingers danced on another datapad.
The Twi'lek spoke into a communication device that was around his throat. "Post five, come in.", The Twi'lek said.
No answer.
And still, no answer. The Twi'lek's lekku twitched around, becoming more and more annoyed. I don't think this was the person I was looking for, considering this was the main floor. It was a two-story building, so the boss likely resided in a personal quarters somewhere up above. This was likely one of their commanders who reported to them.
"Get me a ping. Stat.", The Twi-lek issued.
"No luck Vrax. Trackers are still. They aren't responding.", The Rodian said, shaking his head while the device in his hand showed absolutely zero response. Maybe it was their personal map of the compound? I have mine already thanks to Adam, so I don't need to "confiscate" it~
"Tch. You're of no use to me. We cannot let in a single swamp rat inside.", The Twi'lek named Vrax said. All of a sudden, he reached toward the blaster equipped at his waist. Even I raised my eyes seeing the Twi'lek do this and took aim at his so-called partner.
"B-But sir, I've still got mouths to feed back home---!?", The Rodian tried to say, pleading even.
"Not my problem. If you were skilled enough, you would have already taken some of our men to check on the disturbance. We've more than enough arms to spare.", Vrax said, eyes remained cold.
BANG!
A sole shot struck through the main floor of the compound, ending the life of the Rodian right then and there. As I saw his lifeless corpse collapse onto the ground, different colored blood splattered onto the floor.
Again, I felt nothing seeing this. My heart didn't flutter a single time.
